As part of its efforts to combat the perennial flooding problems ravaging various parts of Ondo State, the State Government, under the administration of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has acquired the brand new latest model of Amphibious Excavator (CAT 320D2).

Governor Akeredolu said the Amphibious Excavator is required in the state for dredging and clearing of waterways, as well as for temporary channelisation in the state.

Speaking during the commissioning of the Amphibious Excavator on Tuesday, Arakunrin Akeredolu said due to its geographical location, the state is prone to flooding, especially during the rainy season.

The Governor explained that flooding often lead to loss of lives and properties and also stalls movement during the rainy season, with high incidence in Akure, Owo, Ondo, Ikare, Ore, Igbokoda, Okitipupa and other urban centers, all with dire implications on the socio - economic activities of the people.

He said : " It's anticipated that this will no longer be a problem as the Amphibious Excavator (Swamp buggy) would be used to combat perennial flooding problems ravaging various parts of the state."

The Governor said it became imperative to procure the Amphibious Excavator following the need to replace the old and faulty one acquired in 2015, which was no longer in good working condition to tackle the challenges encountered across the State.

According to Arakunrin Akeredolu, it is also necessary for the state to get prepared, in view of the Nigerian Metrological Agency (NiMet) forecast of intensive rains across the state this year.

He described the gesture as a testament of his administration's commitment to the well-being and safety of the good people of the state, while urging the ministry in charge to see to its good use and maintenance.

The Ondo State Government commiserates with the people of Biagbini Community in Ese-Odo Local Government Areabo of the State over the unfortunate fire incident which claimed five lives.

The incident is sad. It is particularly pathetic that a 70-year woman and her four grandchildren were victims of the inferno. The State Government shares in this agonising moment that has inflicted an indelible pain in the hearts of relations, friends and acquaintances of the departed.

Whether this incident was avoidable or not, it has once again brought to the fore, the need for all to be vigilant and mindful of our environment at all times.

Against this backdrop, the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN while personally expressing condolence, has ordered an unfettered investigation into the incident to unravel the immediate and remote causes of the incident.

This is however, without prejudice to whatever step the Nigeria Police may have taken in response to the fire outbreak. Clearly, there will be synergy and collaboration in this regard.

Meanwhile, a State Government delegation will visit Biagbini Community to have a first-hand assessment of the site and condole with the immediate family of the victims. May God grant the family and indeed, the entire Biagbini Community the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

The AKETI ONE 2 ONE group , a coalition of youth in Ondo West has declared their continual and undying support for the continual stay of the incumbent governor of Ondo State, His excellency, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Aketi 2020 and beyond.

The group, "Ondo West Aketi One 2 One," gathered at the Ademakinwa Shopping Mall in Ondo Town for the Ondo West Aketi Youth Conference where they expressed their unwavering faith and solidarity for the Akeredolu led administration.

Speaking at the event, Mr Fawehinmi Lulu, the Special Assistant to the governor on research and documentation, who is also the chief host of the conference stated that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has showed beyond measures his immense leadership ability to drive Ondo State to the promise land.

He explained that the numerous developmental projects witnessed in the sunshine state is a proof of the Governor's total commitment and poised towards making Ondo State a better place for everyone. In the light of this, he urged the members and everyone present at the conference to do all within their reach to ensure the continual sustenance of the Akeredolu led administration in Ondo State.

Even as the Governor celebrates Two-years of giants strides and achievements in Ondo State, The group must ensured that they ensure that these developmental projects are witnessed in the coming years beyond 2020.

The group praised the governor for his youth inclusive government and his laudable efforts in transforming Ondo State.

Smoking of marijuana degrades mental health i.e, you're no longer interested in learning new things. Lazy attitude towards work. etc,

So, marijuana should remain ban in Africa else, people would get poorer and crime rate would be high

Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has approved the appointment of Mr. Dele Ologun as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters (Central).

The Governor also approved the appointment of Mr. Andrew Ogunsakin as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters (South)

Other appointments approved by the Governor include Mr. Williams Ebimodehghan as Special Assistant, Niger Delta Matters and Mrs Elizabeth Akpan as Special Assistant to the Governor.
