Is in not in Nigeria that you'll hear of policemen killing protesters or hear of stray bullet killing&injuring protesters or haven't you heard of people dying and getting injured due to suffocation and stampede caused by tear gas? As far as I'm concerned There's nothing as peaceful protest without those wicked brutal security personnel interfaring. you bloody hypocrite talking about protesting and voicing out in the street can start it,be the leader of the protest be in the front line of the protest and probably be the first to die during the protest buh be rest assured that you'll die in vain!!!!!

stevedure: It won't work u say? Maybe u shul make more reserches and gather ur facts right b4 comin on social media 2 comment, i mean no offence! Now, do u knw why River state university is not partaking in the strike? Cos Gov. Amaechi dealt with d ASUU in dat skul. He layed off the members who refused 2 work, employed new ones. I knw u would say the case in court dat's if u're aware of it, now let me tell u dat it's been 2yrs now and i dnt see it been resolved in court within anoda 2yrs time, isn't 4yrs enof time 2 graduate a set of students 4rm yr1? If a governor with limited powers and resources can do it den do not under-estimate d president of a nation! The commander in chief of Army, Navy, Airforce, Police etc, am sure ASUU members can't out-number those people, they will go to court after they are sacked, the court will use 8yrs to investigate, den wen they(ASUU) finally win d case, by den i must have graduated same as all undergraduates now, den most of the lecturers must have attain their retirement ages, they will be retired n paid gratuity, who loose? If u have frnds or relatives who are lecturers better advice them now!
......Na u wey never research..Did u know that once Gen Abacha sacked all lecteures but were later given call back letter...do u know during the military regime ASUU severally were bullied to resume...ASUU executives were arrested and detained by the SSS...do u know all these, it all happened in the 80s and 90s....What happened or will happen? School will resume, lecteurers will resume but i put forward to you lecteures will be reluctant to teach or wont even teach, all this has happened b4....If a whole military regime have sacked lecteurers b4 and never worked na dis one go work...Go research well i know u be teenager....

excelkoms: prolong the strike you say? Is d strike not already overdue? Dis ASUU ppl dnt really care about d students dey claim to be fighting for. Meanwhile let me remind you dat RSUST chapter of ASUU have been on strike for close to 2years now but normal academic activities have been taking place dia. What R/state govt did was to lay off all d striking lecturers dt refused to resume n employ new ppl. Though, d case is in court but, trust me, its a case dt may linger for decades, a period during wc a handful of dia members must hav passed on. ASUU shud jst put an end to dis dia madness!!!
.....so what FG did na solution to the university problem....i put it forward to you school will resume, lecteurers will resume but lecteurers will be reluctant to teach or might not even teach, it has happened even during the brutal military and did not work....may u watch circumstance unfold...
About time to use the big stick on the criminal way ASUU have ruined our educational system in Nigeria.

Speak softly but carry a BIG STICK - President Theodore Roosevelt

As a President in a semi-lawless state as Nigeria, GEJ must learn to apply the big stick when it is absolutely necessary to do so, after all pleadings and begging have fallen on deaf ears.
.....Go read up history wetin Big stick do during military era.....this is not the first time it has happened...

Sincere 9gerian: This is the ACTION FILM that I've been waiting for. When all pleading and negotiations fail, the only option left would be physical FIGHT, aka WAR. Lets do it man to man and get bruised so that both sides can learn the RIGHT lessons going forward. No one has monopoly of violence or force.

let ASUU go to supreme court or United Nations or wherever. It is part of the war. Let the President do what he can and let ASUU do what they can. It is now WAR. If we let ASUU get away with this terrorism on the university education system without a fight, we'll be setting a dangerous precedent in trade unionism.

During the last negotiations with the president which lasted for unprecedented 13 hours, the president granted ADDITIONAL concessions to ASUU but all to no avail. All these because a terrorist is the head of ASUU.

Meanwhile, we are not surprised that ASUU still enjoys the support of Tinubu and Buhari e-dogs who see the ASUU strike as part of the instruments of making the country ungovernable for a president they hate so much.
.....oya how much FG pay you....so as a nigerian you are supporting the system and the F.G....i am not picking side, but be realistic...past military government had forcely reopen universities during strike, what happened next? Register was opened in the universities wereby resuming lecteures names are entered....Lecteurers entered der name in d register but never entered class, dey never taught......U cant forcely open the universities, They wont still teach...It has happened b4

Olaolufred: THIS IS HOW ASUU FARE UNDER IBB AND ABACHA.
MAY BE GENERAL JONATHAN CAN TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL.

courtsey of Wikipedia on history of ASUU strike.

Military regime

The union was active in struggles against the military regime during the 1980s.[1] In 1988 the union organized a National Strike to obtain fair wages and university autonomy. As a result, the ASUU was proscribed on 7 August 1988 and all its property seized. It was allowed to resume in 1990, but after another strike was again banned on 23 August 1992. However, an agreement was reached on 3 September 1992 that met several of the union's demands including the right of workers to collective bargaining. The ASUU organized further strikes in 1994 and 1996, protesting against the dismissal of staff by the Sani Abacha military regime.[1]

MY TAKE:
IF ASUU COULD REMAIN AFTER THE IBB AND ABACHA'S VALLEY OF THE SHADOW OF DEATH.
I AM KEENLY WATCHING TO SEE WHAT GENERAL EBELE CAN DO.
IF HE CAN PUT AN END TO ASUU, THEN HE BECOMES THE FIRST FIELD-MARSHAL NIGERIA WILL EVER HAVE.

Billyonaire: Our utmost priority as a people is to make sure the schools are opened so the students can get back to learning. The President has unarguably consulted all channels of diplomacy and engaged all fronts to get these gang of edu-robbers back in classes, but ASUU fails to be reasonable in their mountains of demands.

By this pronouncement, lecturers should resume their jobs and NUC should monitor them strictly and fire under-performers.

omenka: Stop sounding like a kid. ASUU stands to gain nothing by prolonging the strike, afteral, it is their members whose kith and kin populate the affected institutions while i can bet my last breath none of the members to the fed executive council have their kid(s) in any of the universities. The salary issue shouldn't be any problem at all since had the lecturers been in school, they would have been getting paid monthly. But since the govt decided to adopt the no-work-no-pay draconian policy to armtwist the lecturers back to the classrooms, i want to believe they didnt, in their typical manner, loot the monies meant to pay the lecturers but stashed them away for prompt disbursement as soon as the strike is called off. But if they didnt, and rather applied the monies for unintended purposes, then they have to find a way of getting it back and giving it to the actual owners. As for the release of 100bill development fund, may Amadioha strike anyone who says the govt doesnt have that kind of money, given the news of sleaze and executive profligacy we are daily inundated with. This govt is awash with deadheads and outright lunatics who give not even a wasp's a$$ how the coutry fares, they are just there for themselves and their families period! What is been asked for is much within the limits of the capability of govt. They should comply asap, and stop trying to make ASUU apear like the aggressor here, afterall, they have shifted grounds and are no longer insisting on strict implementation of the 2009 agreement. And by the way, Wike is an assh@le.

Would he stop loving you because you changed your physique? Though most folks do this for corrupt gains... It still doesn't mean God don't love them or won't accept them again because they altered their bodies? That been said, if Messi and Christiano can exchange clubs, messi might not score up to 20 league goals in R Madrid but CR7 may end up scoring 100 league goals for Barca in a season. Barca is a collection of talents. CR7 should be voted the best in the game in 2013. Messi won world best when spainish team and Inter-milan won FIFA World Cup and UEFA Champions League respectively. CR7 deserve the prize.
