sonnie10:Omg! This is pathetically hilarious! I do agree with the Op here. If you're trying to depict someone, then depict him in his entirety. For those that said Bennett does not have the Nigerian accent, he does! I bet most people just watched the first 3 mins of the video and concluded. Will's portrayal of a Nigerian accent is laughable. Not even remotely close . And there is a Nigerian accent!!! Irrespective of tribe there's an accent that's peculiar to every Nigerian that makes you call them Nigerian when they speak. |
chymystique:True! In fact, change "some" to "most". The truth is that many times, the abused don't even see it as an abuse until someone points it out to them. They see it as a way of life. |
Very touching story. As opposed to many people's opinion though, it's not an easy decision to make. Of course, we can all conveniently say " I'd have picked Tope" but in reality, I can bet many would be stuck. Think about it... Ella had done absolutely wrong, she was a very good woman in her right too. He was already engaged to be married to her. In fact a date had been fixed and he cared deeply for her also. So how easy would letting all of that go? In the case of Tope, I get why the writer felt it was lust and not love. He did care for Tope but wasn't actually in love with her. If he ever genuinely loved Tope, he would have made an attempt to reach out upon his arrival in the country. Besides, he had no long term plans for her while leaving Kogi. He was caught up in the moment with her, he saw someone that had and expressed interest in him and got struck by that. His love for Tope was never genuine. |
Krystalxxx:Absolutely right! It's worth sowing in. I like pun! ![]() To make it more fun, every comment should be pun related. |
WHILE YOU WAIT, DO NOT SIT What type of job interview would you go for and they offer you a seat but you opt rather to stand? I see it as a sign of nervousness. I thought what you're advocating is confidence. When offered a seat, you say "Thank you" and take a sit professionally. When invited into the interview room, you stand promptly taking a brisk and confident walk into the room. Other than this point, all others are on point(no pun intended) . By the way, you must be very harsh to disqualify a potential employee because of a sneeze. |
Op, resign and see yourself cooling off to nothing. You get a lump sum only when you retire or you're made redundant not when you willingly resign. Do you due research before greed gets the better of you! |
What a beautiful family! Your family is blessed Op! |
Dranatomy:Aren't you a doctor? Besides, they are your patients and not clients (if you're a doc I mean) Morphine has always been used as a pain relieving drug since time immemorial. The problem is its propensity to be abused, hence the reason it's a controlled drug. I think it's a schedule 2 drug, hence only sold under the supervision and authority of a pharmacist following a strict prescription from a doctor. |
Dbboy:Apparently morphine was never licensed for use in Nigerian hospitals. Once my grandma was very ill at the hospital and she was in intense pain. I was surprised they didn't give her morphine to help alleviate it . My mum later told me it's not licensed in Nigerian hospitals. I guess it's a good news for Nigeria, one way or the other. |
malikisah:There's no human right to this. He's lucky he's not sentenced in fact! He's not a pharmacist hence has no right to sell a controlled drug which tramadol is. There are laws against this! These drugs are easily abused hence should be sold only under the permission and authority of a registered pharmacist! So many unauthorised medicine stores peddled as pharmacies! May God save Nigeria! |
IlekeHD:Absolutely right! She looks like Ogugua |
School fees and years wasted if you (op) do not know that it's meant to be "fees" and not "fee". |
Very expository and detailed! Thanks Op. I attended an interview last week and believe it or not, I was asked all these questions. Thanks to proper prep, experience and articles like this on nairaland, I believe I aced it. Like you rightly said, always back all answers with examples. I almost goofed whilst at my interview when I asked my interviewer if I was talking too much. His response was" Oh absolutely not, I particularly like the fact that you are giving personal examples to back up your claim ". So, I believe this write up would help a lot of people. |
At 28,I should expect that you'd have more to you than your handsome face . That's all you've talked about. If all you have going for you is your 'looks' and you see that as the automatic passport to having a nice woman to date, I am sorry, your story would remain the same. You need to brush up other aspects of you - can you maintain a conversation? Are you smart / intelligent? Are you humorous? Etc I don't want to think all girls are intimidated by your looks. I should think you're deficient in some aspects. If it's the case , make amends. Looks may capture girls not women! So, check yourself. |
Richy4:Nigerians have imbibed the act! In fact what happens now is that the invitees give the celebrant a treat by paying his/her bill. Of course that's optional but it's regarded as good sense since it's the person's day. |
pure2012soul:That's Nigerian mentality. In England, when someone says" let's go out", abeg pocket your money or have your card with you. If this story is true, I wonder how the girl could fall cheaply for his lies - if he had no cash on him, he could easily have paid with his debit card. Very hilarious! |
The girl is his niece not his daughter. How does Dantata and Dangote look alike? |
holicalpha:It is even because of the bolded I find this hard to believe. I am the greatest rape critic, left to me, life imprisonment is still a lenient punishment. That's how much I abhor rape and seek justice and deserving punishment for the victim and pepertrators respectively. What I would not conform to though is having an innocent person suffer for a crime they didn't commit. The girl's version is questionable. For starters, if the man did penetrate her from behind, how did she see the whitish fluid that came out of him - her tale looks scripted. Secondly, the suspect's mother's claim - I want to think I know how Nigerian mothers shield their children.. The average Nigerian mother I know would rather keep mum than use a past incidence against her son. If upon investigation, her son is found guilty, then her testimony could come in handy as a justification of the proof. Given that the suspect hasn't been tried nor found guilty, the mother coming up with this claim tells me something is wrong somewhere. A thorough investigation needs to be carried out so that an innocent man is not made to suffer for something he's not guilty of BUT If the man is found guilty , he should be made to go through a very gruesome punishment. Castration and life imprisonment could be a start. |
abbey621:Spot on! |
othenok:Many Nigerians are lazy readers but more than that, lazy thinkers! If you do not spell things out to the minutest detail, they can never analyse it. From the journalists right to the common man. It's a shame! The bill is comprehensive enough but still, see what people are typing. Don't be surprised if someone quotes you to say you're speaking gibberish. |
FriedPlantain:Omg! ![]() This is effortlessly hilarious! |
I have always said this- women are their own worst enemies! Though in this case, apart from the fact that the woman is mean, she is doing her son more injustice by not instilling the ability to be self sufficient . It is just pathetic! Whilst growing up, we had a cooking rota at home. My brothers and I each had days alloted to us for cooking and cleaning. I learnt how to wash a car from the age of 12 despite having two older brothers . My parents learnt the act of balance for their kids and ensured we were self reliant in all ramifications . Recently, my bro came home and treated us to one of his delicacies - thanks to his culinary skills. Some parents need sensitization on the ills of their actions .They need to be enlightened on the creation of that balance for their kids. I will rather give something you could /could not need than withhold something that may be needed. Cleaning after one and the ability to nourish one's self is without a doubt a necessary skill every human being should possess. In conclusion, some parents need education! |
Ceccylia:So shall it be for you by God's grace ! Imisioluwa, Amarachi, Ifunaya, Ifedolapo, Erioluwa, Aurora (just like this name) |
Ganoderma:You're very silly with this claim. ![]() Is it your way of justifying rape or what? You're no different from the rapists.. NONSENSE! |
5minsmadness:Absolutely! humans are free to make their choice. Your example though, all you need is to have a talk with these woman and you'd find out for a majority it isn't an independent choice, rather a bullocks of societal standard they feel they have to conform to. Now is that really a choice? The education is not " don't do this" rather " Don't do simply because you belong to a gender "with the exception of defined biological roles of course. Mind you, I said humans -so it applies to both gender. Who says a man has to be the highest gross earner of the home? Why should a boyfriend be the one to be spending on his girlfriend ? I'm a humanist - for the equality and good of humans. |
spenca:Why am I not surprised at your interpretation?like I said earlier, a deep thinker is needed to disect it which unfortunately you're not. |
ok pls try and you know what to feel sleepy too stressful Blatter re-elected FIFA President Goodluck to go to the post of the things like to know more than I am someone to the wrong with a warranty.. I don't even like football.. Lol |
Geewai:Yea, you're so right! She's probably trying to test him by becoming pregnant for another dude, aborting it, saving the pregnancy test, lying so shamelessly about it belonging to a friend despite her NAME bodly printed on the sheet. She was indeed testing him. |
spenca:Not really, it's having the head to disssect it. I must add that Buhari is a deep thinker and an analytical mind is needed to fathom the meaning of the quote. In literal sense "I am for the people, my service is to the people (everybody) and I live for the people BUT I cannot be controlled by anyone (nobody). In short, I am a leader". |
