musKeeto: On a more serious note, this is a warning from God that you should stop drinking Fanta and Coke. The guy you went with represents the owner of the place you regularly have food during break. The women of easy virtue represent your close friends, the ones you
drink with..

Fanta and Coke cause cancer to the body. God had revealed to you that if you keep drinking them, you may have stomach cancer. The pain in your stomach is a sign that you'll go through pains financially and otherwise if you do not desist. Being repelled and fascinated at thensame time indicates a strong addiction to these drinks.

Quick question: when last did you have jollof rice with just water?

Christ Jesus delivered you from all illnesses and sickness on the Cross. There's no need to go to any church for deliverance. JUST HEEED THE WARNING. Stay clear from those drinks..
What are you talking about? I don't drink coke and fanta, I'm particular about my health

Adekdammy: well, its as if u had a rough past and somebody will be used as a bait to make u go back to your vomit, thank God you u didnt accept her, and thank God for where u are now but know that there is a monitoring spirit looking for loopholes to attack, so always stay connected to Christ , remember wat 2tim.2:19 says. As for going to pastors becareful, u can deliver urself bt praying to God and bette still get brethren to pray with u or stand in d gap for u, u can as well pray with isaiah49:24-26, obadiah 17. God bless you
Yes you are right my whole has been very rough right from when I was a very very little child. I want to serve God. When I am in the house of God I feel very happy. There are times when I have been so close to God that I will decree a thing and it will come to pass, but it feels as if when I'm getting there somehow something pulls me back. It has been like this for some time. I think I will go to MFM

I Had this dream Yesterday night and I'm still baffled in my dream my self and a guy went to a house full of women with ill-repute (harlots) I sat down and watched as the guy had sex with a very very strange looking woman she looked really scary. She had fanta face (terribly bleached) and ugly with coca cola body what I wont forget was the red red marks she had across her thighs, when she finished with the guy she then turned and said it was my turn. it seemed I was repelled and fascinated when I watched her and the guy. she started urging me but I quickly said no I can remember closing my leg tightly in the physical, I was disgusted then some how I found myself sitting down with some other women on a table in the same place, I believe these women were of easy virtue I remember the fata face woman hanging around. the next thing i woke up to feel a very sharp pain around my womb region and I started pleading the blood of Jesus till the pain subsided. please I really need answers please because I keep having dreams of people wanting to sleep with me.

I really don't understand, are u looking for a good girl or are u looking for a virgin. I mean a witch can be a virgin so u need to clarify if its a virgin u want or if its a good girl (character wise). Those of you talking about dressing and all what not, I know a lot of people who dress very very wel and they have a good heart. Op u should be looking for someone with a good heart

Pls allow ur cousin to go there nobody will tell him to run back to naija when he gets a taste of the place. Very very poor country and very underdeveloped the only thing they have is ethiopian airways

FamilyRe: What Do I Do Now That The Help I Gave Is Giving Me Hell? by mygirrl: 3:09am On Mar 17, 2013
TheChronicled: Listen to this short true life story. I rather you decide whether it’s short or not. I can’t vividly put everything on paper, but let me try and make it short. I’m a guy trying to make a decent living in Lagos like some people. I stay alone in one room self contained apartment somewhere in the Lekki corridor plagued with unreasonably astronomical rent. One day my childhood friend called. He is Lagos with the family somewhere around Ikotun. I promptly cleared my calendar and paid them a visit.

A week or few days later he said they will be traveling back to the east on the next Saturday. But since their engagement was in Victoria Island and it demands they be in the office as early as possible on Friday, they requested to stay with me which instantly accepted without giving it a thought. Of course I dint have to. I was simply lending a helping hand to a friend. So the golden plan was to come to my place on Tuesday, do their thing in V/I on Friday and then travel back to the east on Saturday. Roughly 5 DAYS stay. Very simple you would say. The month was March. To be precise, it was MARCH 2012. The shocker is that they are still in my place. And this is MARCH 2013! A 5 days stay turned to a 365 days stay yet, the end is not in sight!

Imagine Mr. D, Mrs. A and two little niggling kids (girls) living with me in one room. That’s 5 people in one room. The last girl still wears pampers. The wife took the kid back to east sometimes in February this year. The main issue is that their lifestyle is polar opposite of mine. I’m the kinda person that can give you a clear precise direction from another galaxy in space on where to get a needle from any corner in my room. In other words I’m very organized. Very neat. It annoys me when things are scattered and untidy. I cook and clean. These people are they exact opposite.

These people turned my room upside down. They “junglefied” my room effortlessly. In one month the room has seriously aged more than it did in my 3 years stay in it. They destroy and litter everywhere every second and the usual suspects are the kids even when they are not. I keep fixing things, they will never fix a pin. They will pile the trash up like they are building a pyramid. At a point I had to clean every inch of the walls using cleaning agent and a cloth. He can’t even wash his handkerchief. The moment they open their eyes, they rush to the TV both papa, mama and kids. They watch TV with the kids till 2:00am atimes. I’m like what are you teaching these kids? Oh yeah they fought like crazy initially over really retarded reasons often orchestrated by the guy. They pack a lot of nasty dirty habits that really irritate, disgust and annoy me. I just ignore and endure. Im not saying im perfect though.

On December ending of 2012 I asked them to leave that I cannot ignore and endure anymore and to my greatest surprise, the guy challenged me on that. He challenged as if we had an agreement to live together.

Telling me “….so you want to kick us out? Me and my family will wait for you and the police or army you will call to kick us out”

I took it calmly like my usual self. I can really be calm on the surface even though its tsunami underneath. All I said to him was “…this is why people don’t do good deeds.” I initially gave them till end of January to leave and the guy threw tantrum again. Later he apologized for the tantrum that he was being a jerk. They said they are looking for an accommodation but it doesn’t look it to me. My rent expires by June, Im just watching, not talking anymore. I tried to be brief.

My uncle once said something that shocked me cuz of how true his words of wisdom was for me. This was before they even came. He said people of our family love to help people but we do it to a point that it really hurts us and we keep doing it. When I reflect on that comment I shudder. Every and anybody I tell this just wants me to kick them out by fire by force except two people.

Im asking for your opinion, what do you think I should do?

I await your responses.

PoliticsRe: Foreign Degree & The Nigerian Mentality by mygirrl: 12:00pm On Mar 05, 2013
Slant77: Yea, it's quite easy to just accept that "there are no good jobs out there", but the thing is it depend on you.

If you're good and you groom yourself (speak good english, dress for the job you want, LEARN BASIC INTERVIEW SKILLS (this one is very very important) and have the right attitude), the jobs are there. wink

I've seen people (that I knew before "hammering" & still know) who had no connections and did not school abroad, who have gotten good jobs. grin

If you've got yourself a foreign degree, good for you. One good advice - drop the accent , it pisses interviewers off huh. Every interviewer wants to be sure in his/her mind that you can fit in (and work well in teams made of poeple - who are Nigerians living in Nigeria)
Abeg forget that thing, if you see me dress up for an interview you will think I'm a CEO, I speak very well so its not by that. I can hold very intelligent conversations so stop saying what you don't know
PoliticsRe: Foreign Degree & The Nigerian Mentality by mygirrl: 9:23am On Mar 05, 2013
Donxavier: I went for two interviews last month in the UK and got to the assessment stage, only to be told they wont be sponsoring visas, that they are very sorry. I agree it is easier to get jobs in the UK than Naija, at least in Naija I didn't even get one interview. But this immigration thingy is very discouraging, now my friends are saying why didn't I come to Canada?

In the Uk, you can still be doing per hour until you get a good job somewhere, instead of just staying at home like most of us were in Naija after school

Maybe I should start looking for jobs in canada grin but what I hate about naija is that you wont even get any response, whether positive or negative. No feedback.
I agree with Ajanlekoko, maybe the jobs aren't there to begin with and we shouldn't need to spend millions to get the same entry level jobs that don't necessarily require anything apart from good first degree. But then what do you do if you didn't make 1st class or 2.1 the first time? Too many complicated scenarios

I think the best option might be to get a foreign degree and do everything possible to work in the country you got your degree for a while before coming back Home. With the UK clamping down with harsh immigration laws, we might need to start looking elsewhere, US,Canada, etc dunno any other place again lol.

If one should return back to naija, it should not be to get a job it should be to start a business.(wishful thinking smiley

Easier said than done though
I know its not ok to live in past glory, but before I came bk I was attending interviews for jobs that pay 200 pounds a day and the likes. Many of my friends are currently paid that or more. You can then imagine my shock and dismay when I got back and some people are chatting shit about me starting as an entry level. I think starting something is the way to go, atleast that's what I'm trying to do. Although it is not easy but God dey

muami: Something seems fishy here. This article was first written in May 2012. Now the writer is publishing it again in March 2013 as if its contents are new. In any event, if the writer really was in the UK, he should know that even in the UK and most Western countries, jobs are difficult to get. If it was easy, he would not have returned. Point is: at the moment nowhere is easy, not the UK, not Nigeria.
http://saharareporters.com/article/relocating-nigeria-jon-chikadibie-okafo
It is 10 times easier to get a job in the UK than Nigeria. Don't compare the two of them, at least one thing I know is that they appreciate ur degree
PoliticsRe: Foreign Degree & The Nigerian Mentality by mygirrl: 12:14am On Mar 05, 2013
coogar: public opinion!
actually, it's logical - if you bag foreign degrees in good schools, your chances of getting a job should be better than local degrees provided all other conditions are constant! it seems the reverse is the case in nigeria. it's all about who you know in the government or who you can bribe or sleëp with. the moral fabric is so dirty people are actually justifying it.
Infact, i'm beginning to feel that people most people without foreign degrees beef those that managed to obtain one
PoliticsRe: Foreign Degree & The Nigerian Mentality by mygirrl: 11:41pm On Mar 04, 2013
I completely agree with the poster, I came back like 5 months ago after all the promises i'm yet to find a job, despite the fact that i worked for 2 years before coming back. I find it insulting that companies want to take me as a fresher (when i graduated close to six years ago). I know what is inside my head and i strongly believe that if given a chance i can make a difference but its Nigeria we are talking about. I have already made up my mind to start up something small and see how far it can grow by the grace of God. I don't blame many Nigerians abroad for refusing to come back.

ideology: the reason is simple, ladies don't know what they want, and patience, they refuse to wait for the guy, to make more money.
Many of you guys have got it wrong and twisted. Let me tell you only a very very foolish girl will leave a guy that treats her with utmost love and respect. Its not all about money you know and last time I checked there are many hard working and independent girls in this country, if you think money can buy love then get ready to be disappointed
RomanceRe: Disadvantages Of Late Marriage by mygirrl: 2:47pm On Feb 20, 2013
salt 1: Hear word? please hear word! Don't marry till 50! That is if you choose to marry at all. Single and happy? Those two words don't always go together. Even crying is sweeter when someone cries with you. And joy is doubled when it is shared!
Marriage doesn't guarantee happiness but crying alone is worse
Did Paul in the bible marry? was Elijah a married man, what of Samson. did you ever see any verse in the bible where it was mentioned that they were single and unhappy. You have a very very funny mentality. Instead of thinking of how to make a change in the world before you hit 30 (that's if you are not over 30) you are here making noise about marriage. That's how some people will read this your nonsense and put themselves under unnecessary pressure to please people in the society like you

That's the purpose of this thread. MARRY YOU HEAR? smiley
Abeg! lemme hear word. If I listen ti people like you I will end up unhappy and depressed. There is a time for everything, not every girl will marry at the age of 22. There is more to life than chasing after marriage. being happy is what counts the most and there is no guarantee that marriage will bring happiness
