mbulela: the fact that the election was transparent is proof that Jega did a good job. That Nigerians were just not impressed with Jonathan's performance. That Nigerians will do same to Buhari if he does not perform. You're conveniently side-stepping the truth Carter did not mention Jega but the man who allowed Jega carry on even in the face of glaring hitches and skewed electoral arrangements to favour Buhari.Imagine what would have happened if it was OBJ,Tinubu or even Buhari that was president when GEJ was,.I can assure you they would have seriously interfered with the running of INEC and would massively have rigged the elections.Bunch of deceptive ying liars |

Politics › Mali Hostage Crisis Ends;12 Persons Dead by Myself2(op): 11:49am On Nov 20, 2015 |
MALI HOTEL SIEGE LEAVES A DOZEN PEOPLE DEAD Twelve people including a South African and another foreigner were killed in a hostage siege at a hotel in central Mali that ended when government troops stormed the building, the army said. "There are 12 dead in all," an army officer said early on Saturday, after the operation at the Hotel Byblos in Sevare, listing the fatalities as five "terrorists", five soldiers and two foreigners. Earlier reports said that four hostages were also freed. The UN peacekeeping mission (MINUSMA) said in a statement that "reports indicate that a member of the international personnel associated with MINUSMA was killed in the attack". Related Story: Mali rebels doubtful over new peace deal UN chief Ban Ki-moon condemned the attack which "led to the death of at least one UN contractor," his spokesman said in a statement. "This attack will not lessen the determination of the United Nations to accompany the Malian people in their efforts to implement the peace agreement," the statement said. Located only a few kilometres from the regional capital Mopti, Sevare, situated 620km northeast of Bamako, the capital, is a key staging post on the road to the desert north which fell to fighters in 2012. Resurgence of violence The siege started at around 7am (07:00 GMT) on Friday, according to the government. Sources told AFP that three South Africans, a Frenchman and a Ukrainian had been registered at the hotel before the attack. A Russian diplomat said a Russian was among the hostages. Get Flash Player Will Mali's peace deal hold? Another source said Malian Special Forces had rescued the hostages, including five foreigners "who were evacuated to Bamako". The source was unable to specify their nationalities. The UN mission said the initial target of the attack was a Malian military site. A source told AFP that the Russian man "hidden inside the building" had supplied "useful information" to Malian forces during the siege. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack, which comes as Mali battles a resurgence of violence, two years after a French-led offensive routed armed groups from most parts of the country. France has more than 1,000 soldiers based in northern Mali. The hotel attack was the third assault in just a week in Mali, which is still struggling to restore stability despite a landmark peace deal agreed in June to end years of unrest and ethnic divisions. Armed groups have kidnapped a number of foreigners in Mali in recent years, at least two of whom are still being held hostage by Al-Qaeda's front group in the region AQIM http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/08/captives-rescued-mali-hotel-siege-leaves-dead-150808043931633.html |

Joeoku78: Both Jimmy carter and Jonathan were one-tenure presidents and lost in their second tenure because they were bad performers. Who knows Carter in US achievements. What did Jonathan do in nigeria to earn re-election ? Nothing but outrageous looting of public funds along with those he gives free hands to steal because he fears them. A commander-in-chief afraid of his own people? Rubbish . Had he refused to concede defeat he would have been dead or in prison by now. So he loves his life and that of his family that's why he accepted defeat. He didn't want to behave like orubebe who didn't succeed to stop Jega from completing result announcement. He didn't want to die like African leaders that refused to concede defeat and were captured and killed. Booooooo LYING WAILERS |

He accused them of syphoning N25billion when it is actually N8bn.
He said REMITA is the only beneficiary of the money. Which is not the truth. It actually belongs to three parties REMITA, CBN and the BANKS.
He accused the present FG of being the one that gave the go ahead. This is also wrong cos the contract was signed and sealed between 2011 and 2012. Was there anything like APC then?
It is clear Fayose is trying to demonise the TSA to make it look bad to the public so that he can continue in his old stealing method.
It is not compulsory for him to accept for his state, the terms and condition of the contract agreement between the FG and REMITA.
He may decide to renegotiate the deal for his own state but let him not demonise the policy. Your submission is baseless and a regurgitation of the shameless line of defence being put up by this thieving federal government to one more hoodwink Nigerians |

Lordave: With the history of poor, erratic and unsteady power supply associated with past governments, even Maitama residents would be anticipating the APC trademark 'Change' to sweep across the ministry of power and somehow or anyhow solve the problem of nonexistent power supply in most parts of the country. Alas, Buhari, today decided to name former Lagos State governor, Mr Raji Babatunde Fashola as the minister of merged former Ministries of Power, Works and Housing. From a progressive perspective every sensible Nigerian would agree that this is a very big mistake from our president. The ministry of Work and Housing alone is a deserving ministry for a person of Fashola's calibre and administrative prowess to pilot, likewise Power. Heading the Ministry of Works and Housing in Nigeria is very cumbersome and almost equivalent to the numerous tasks he faced as the Governor of Lagos State were he had commissioners who were accountable to him, let alone Power being added to this workload of a Portfolio. I'm tempted to ask, did Buhari seek advice and make proper consultation before handing these merged portfolio to Mr Fashola? If he did, what were his findings? Which people supported his merging of these ministries?(they should be named so we can know those who indirectly oppose our progress) In a nutshell, it was unexpected, unprogressive, nonsensical and most especially, unacceptable merging of this work laden ministries and handing it over to one man considering the immediate change Nigerians are expecting in the power sector. Buhari should separate this ministries and make Mr Fashola a minister to one of them.
It would be inevitable hearing APC faithfuls say, "after all it is merged ministry, and as such presents a herculean task to the government in bringing a reasonable level of change to what we had in the previous administrations who are responsible for the majority of ruins in the ministries.
WE DO NOT WANT EXCUSES! You're so on point The issue of power is the single most pressing need in this country now,so it's a major one that requires it's own ministry, works and housing are equally gigantic in scope and challenge,so why merge the two ministries and appoint a non-professional to handle them both.... Only a daft,backward-thinking man like DULLARDino Muumuuhari can take such a stewpid decision and it's only the lying liars aka brainwashed broomoids that will applaud such a retrogressive move |
