@ MyVc,

Memorial University and every other Institution have their requirements. While some waive certain requirements, others do not.

I will STRONGLY advise you check up on their website and possibly initiate a conversation (via email) with the school ASAP!!!!

Yes; thanks.

I have contacted them.

I can't tell you Yes or No
Simply check the program requirements then look for countries that are exempted from English profiency if Nigeria in Included. Better still mail the graduate coordinator to confirm the requirement.

Stay bless

Yes; they indicated that as part of their requirements.

I don't know whether they waive it off; occasionally.

Intrinsically; I have sent them mail but have yet to get feedback from them.

Thanks.

I think it's much harder now though.. because the CRS cut off for EE has been quite high this year.

Do you know someone who did it after covid?

I think MyVc will have to try and get a PNP if he decides to go for a 1 year program.

Alright, thanks.

Please, will I apply for the PNP before doing the 1-year program or during the 1-year working experience

Thanks

1 yr program will get you 1 yr pgwp.

You can apply and get your pr with a 1 yr pgwp, it's only a race against time because you would have to get a job, get other requirements in place, get in the pool and wait for pr all in a yr.

It's doable because people have done it successfully.

Good luck

Please, I don't have an M.Sc yet. Will that deter my chances of getting the Canadian PR?

Please, what other requirements do I also need to put in place?

Thanks.

Hi

IT is in demand from my personal research just as health care related programs. Not saying other courses/programs are not in demand.

The idea of POF is almost unexplainable considering the high rate of refusals with reasons like it's not a reasonable expense, insufficient finance, not certain funds are readily available etc, However, I feel like there are factors that suggests these feedbacks.
Now the minimum POF required is CAD10,000 for 1yr, this as written on the IRCC site is for living expenses tuition costs not inclusive. What this means is that you will have to show POF that can cover your tuition and living expenses. Here is where it becomes a bit weird to understand, your program is for 3 yrs so this means you will need to show POF that should reasonably cover your tuition fees and Living expenses for three years and while providing the POF it should not look as though you will go broke or exhaust your finances just cos you want to study in Canada. If you're using a third party sponsor for instance then their ability to take care of themselves while sponsoring you would also be considered, I mean you wouldn't be expected to leave them dry because they are sponsoring you I.e If they have a family and personal obligations while sponsoring you. - in summary, your POF should show that you're merely spending funds that wouldn't cause you or your sponsor to go bankrupt.

With these I'm sure you have an idea how much you need. Add your tuition cost to your living expenses, multiply it by 3 yrs, add miscellaneous cost like flight tickets to it and there's your estimate.

Don't forget, the VO that would be incharge of your application may not the this thorough, however, don't underestimate their review when considering your eligibility. In all package your best application and submit.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for this great feedback.

Please, if one does a 1-year program; how long is the Postgraduate Work Permit?

Please, can one get permanent residency with a 1-year program?

Thanks.

Hi, shoot your questions and I'll be glad to respond to be best of my knowledge

Alright, thanks.

Please, I intend to apply for Software Engineering Technology. It's a 3-year course with an optional Co-op.

Please, I will like to ask; how demanding are Software Engineers in Canada.

Secondly, how much Proof of Funds should one have before getting the Canadian Student Visa approved?

Thirdly, please will one show the total Tuition and axillary fees for the three-year program including the living expenses at once in the Proof of Funds before getting Visa approval?

Lastly; please what's the estimated budgetary forecast that one should have for the program?

The Tuition and axillary fees are about 16.2k CAD per session.

Thanks.

correct me if i am wrong, but is a co-op supposed to be channel to fund your study like scholarship or an opportunity to gain field experience and requisite skills during your study?

Your response to the above will answer your prior question.

Please, am not an expert here. I'm only seeking clarification.

I initially thought that the Co-op will help the student to garner field experience and might also help to carter for the person's needs too.

Thanks.

Please, if one intends to study a three-year course with a Co-op in Canada

Will the person's Proof of Funds cover the tuition fees and the living expenses for the three years before the Visa approval or will they approve the Visa with Proof of Funds for the first year only.

Since the person will be studying and working.

Thanks.

Please, is studying Software Engineering Technology at Conestoga College in Canada with an optional Co-op a good prospect? The course is a three-year program.

Please, how demanding are Software Engineers in Canada and how easily can one get work while still schooling via the Co-op option, and also how easily can one get a job at the end of the program?

Finally; can one reside in Canada at the end of the program?

Thanks.
