Greenarrow01: But he is right ooo IKEA will only perform well in selected locations of lekki And Abuja How many people will spend 4m on a bed Or 5m on sofa.
I hope you're taking notes... Pay over N20m to rent a space only for people to take nice pictures.
dongc: There is something called trade mapping...I am sure anyone planning a business must have completed that before......I drive an hour to nearest ikea shop where I live same for many people...
Baba, you're abroad na
One of the methods used in defining trade areas is asking a group of business owners or operators in related field to undertake a mapping exercise to help you define your trade area.
I think I am one of those who qualify to undertake this exercise because of my extensive knowledge of the market. I've worked with Ikea and the likes and I've also worked with Jimoh and Segun in Mushin.
dongc: This is one of ikea's goal to inspire...I do not have facilities to bring ikea to Nigeria.. Ikea can do this if Nigeria is a market that suits them...
It wont be long we will start to see Ikea in shops on almost every street. Just like Dulux...
These aren’t internet images. They are what-you-see-is-what-you-get
As at 2014, the advertised price for the kitchen we chose for K-024 by NextHome is N7,000,000
_______
The truth is people do buy these things. I know someone here whose bed alone cost N4m
I learnt they crashed their prices recently. Their armored doors that retail for N3 - N5m back then now sell for N1m. Also their kitchens has been discounted heavily.
Born2conquer: But do we really have guys that can deliver such kitchen? The rich men’s house i’ve been to in Nigeria, it seems most prefer spending much money on the Exterior than they spend on thr Interior while the kitchen is always just there: 1)Wooden cabinet on top 2)Cupboard connected to the washing sink down 3)With patterned shining tiles.
Is there any brand changing the look of kitchen decor in Nigeria? I believe it will be a Goldmine
If you want them, I have a good number of kitchen designers around me.
They’re pricey though. The cheapest you should expect is $20k
rotecch77: This one is just small apartment kitchen…. Mini flat we have 4 units of such in that building and 4 units of 2 bedrooms
I will post more pics later
I’m currently working on something similar in badore but quite larger. The key strength of this building is its shared space: fully equipped 36sqm shared lounge and living facilities.
It has 3 units of 2 bedroom and 5 units of executive 1 bed apartment.
bobkezel: You are one of the people I don't understand here.... You never come in peace, you come with a new confusion everytime. Thanks man...

I always say this “It’s tough understanding people like me.”
I mentor youngsters in tertiary institutions. I don’t teach them to become like me. I teach them to think and act.
The whole “I watch the video, the door is small, the client is right, the vendor is wrong... the protests is to stroke mama Eyinne’s ego and make her feel loved and encouraged that at least someone somewhere could feel her pain.
The whole advice to the vendor is to make him think and act because nothing will put the whole issue to rest without him making some concession. And I think he’s smart enough to know his next step.
________
Whenever you read from me, always remember my quote below.
I confront problems, not people. (Brabus is bad. The carpenter is useless. The electrician is a fraud)
I flip over systems, not people. (I do this by simplifying complexities. See pic 2 below)
I talk about what went wrong, not who went wrong. (The Dangotes of Nigeria Economy are milking this country dry because they live in the supermoney economy where a segment of the society can borrow from the future while the other remain stucked in an impoverished present)
oduncojamaica: Good evening house, pls what type of door or design can I introduce into this lobby entrance that lead to rooms and kitchen in my building. I was advised to put sliding aluminum door there by my friend, but I am looking for other beautiful alternative. Kindly note that the lobby directly face the main entrance door thereby people coming into the sitting room will face lobby directly before sitting down.
Sirs I need your input
This should work. I recommended same design to Sir @tomaths on kobocity.
You can use a similar design or something close in your build.
Horlardorjah: My Chief, thankfully you said 80 year old. Don't forget I said my experience n I didn't generalize this. * Has there being any fire incident in the house to make you confirm the fire part? * Were u there during the installation to make you know if they amended on site to fit if the openings were not perfect for it? * I bet we still have same quality of materials that was used in making those in your build at the moment. Remember: all I mentioned were based on my experience in my kobo Kobo years of Kobo Kobo architecture, interior n construction Sir.

Chairman! I’ve something interesting to share on PVC vs Aluminum windows.
I’ve not witnessed any fire outbreak to see how both will perform under fire BUT I’ve seen how they perform under impact and crush test.
As a matter of fact, the picture I intend to share will show you how different types of aluminum profiles from 6 demolished buildings look after they were subjected to harsh conditions vs how the PVC window installed on only 1 house in the estate performed.
It’d be shocking to hear that I can still use the PVC windows but we can hardly put together a complete window from all the 6 buildings where aluminum windows are installed.
I’ll upload pics when I have the opportunity to do so.
________ Considering the cost and quality of the PVC windows, I wasn’t expecting it to perform any less.
michlins: Good evening everyone. I have reached a solution with eyinne. The used five out of six doors and it's remaining one. If anyone wants the door here should kindly let me know. The cost of bringing it back to Nnewi makes it such a bad business.
The location is Ajah Lagos
Thanks
I’m in Ajah but I don’t need a door now. For a lasting resolve, I’ll support you with 50% of the cost.
