nope u dont have the qualities for dating yet. i totally understand the deal abt protecting ur feelings, as a girl that is necessary, i guard my feelings alot bcuz where i am,  a girl tells u she loves u, u think it is for real, u accept her the next thing she does is hand u her rent and other issues if she is AA, the 9ja girl on the other hand will not only hand u her rent and her issues but also her entire extended family issues and they all want u to prove ur love by stepping up to the plate. so we all natural dont want to be taken advantage of but the beauty of life is the risk, u never know until u try. being reasonably guarded shouldnt be the same thing as cold, u show ur feelings if they are genuine yet be observant. u cant keep switching from being warm then cold then warm then cold, it only makes ur partner 2nd guess u and when folks start to 2nd guess each other in a relationship, it usually ends bad. what i will say is work on ur trust issues, be u, the original u not the u life as dealt with but the original simple u. every human has sumtin 2 offer, it could just be a simple smile, there is always sum1 that will take that for what it is down to eternity but u have to trust urself enough to let go of u.
