Celebrities › Re: Tobi Bakre Opens Up On Bambam & What Went Wrong Between Them by nabegibeg: 1:03pm On Jun 05, 2018 |
jennifermahan: Ex-big brother naija housemates, Tobi and BamBam were once paired together at the initial stage of the reality game show and they had a fantastic chemistry before things went sour.
Second runner-up in the 2018 edition of the Big Brother Naija reality TV show, Tobi Bakre has opened up on what went wrong with his friendship with fellow ex- housemate, BamBam, during the show.
During their stay in the house, Tobi was briefly paired with BamBam. The pairing was in line with the theme for the week: bonding.
The chemistry between Tobi and BamBam elicited several social media reactions, with some wishing for a romantic relationship between them.
However, things changed between them when Tobi repeatedly told other housemates and the host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that he got the vibe that BamBam and her relationship with fellow housemate Teddy A, was fake.
Speaking in an interview with Pulse Magazine, Tobi said: “I don’t like talking about the house anymore, because everybody saw the story and the gist of everything that happened in the house and everybody has moved on. We are cool now.
“But then, everything in the house was more like, you get into an environment and you’re trying to know each other, and then you’re obviously going to misunderstand each other one way or the other.”

"Last night conversation with my day 1 Isoken brought back so many memories of my early days
Funny how people see the now and feel it just happened, what my eye has seen in this industry to get to where I am today ehn..... God is good

Celebrities › Re: Nina: The Insensitivity Of TheNETng And Why Many Celebs Hate The Press by nabegibeg: 12:23pm On Jun 05, 2018 |
eljayson: From Knowledge shaming people with embarrassing street interviews to bitter album and movie reviews, many people have come to hate the press. And for good reason.
For a long time, thenetng has maintained a reputation of being a thorough, critical media house who do not pander to the whims and dictates of celebrities but speak the truth, keeping many in check. They did a good job.
Their interview with Nina however, calls for a reality check for them
A pattern of releasing damning news which leverages negative publicity for celebrities has however been established by many news outlets.
Little wonder many celebrities hate the press and select who to grant interviews. No one wants anyone to disrespect them.
Nina's interview which was published on thenet platform can be described as spiteful and disrespectful to her person. It was filled with information we did not need to know especially considering how Nina is just a young girl who is still finding her footing as a celebrity.
It is more important to be kind than to be right.
In a bid to get the most traffic and stand out from other blogs, many news outlets do not care about the feelings of celebrities and like cheap bitter trolls, chomp down on any opportunity to trend.
Instead of helping her make the best of her interview, doing without unnecessary info about her not having a car, her make up and obviously green team, thenetng felt the need to further troll the young girl by releasing the ugly details of their encounter.
Yes, she didnt have a car when she did the interview. Yes, you paid for her Taxify. Yes she is insecure about her looks.
So what? Was that why you invited her over? To shame her?
This is not the first time they have done this. For the sake of brevity, no need to highlight their other unkind interviews with other celebs.
No interview comes out perfect. A lot of flaws and goofs are hidden by good video editors and writers.
It will have been better to report Nina's answers to their questions rather than the other stuff which went down off camera.
Their report was not done to portray the best possible interview but to attract traffic, riding off the wave of controversy and negative reactions. It was wrong.
This is why many celebrities avoid certain media houses because like the ugly trolls they take advantage of their openness and spread demeaning news about them.
If we seek to live in a better world, such needs to stop. Knowledge shaming, bitter interviews and reviews need to stop. Trolling needs to stop.
It is all fun and games because no one is paying attention to the people getting hurt. Think before you report rubbish about people. No be una still talk say bad publicity na still publicity

Meekdon: The Attorney-General of the Federation, AGF, and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami SAN has asked the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Abuja, to order the resumption of the trial of Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye.
The court had adjourned indefinitely the case to enable the embattled senator to recuperate.
The letter dated June 4, and with reference number DPPA/INVEST./023/18, was sent to the court following Melaye’s resumption of legislative duties at the Senate on May 30.
The letter addressed to “The Chief Registrar, High Court of FCT, Maitama, Abuja” was entitled, ‘Re; Charge No. CR/106/18: FRN V Senator Dino Melaye; Request for a date for trial’.
The AGF office is, in the case, prosecuting Melaye on two counts of deliberately giving false information to the police to frame the Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Mr Edward Onoja David, in an alleged assassination attempt on his (Melaye’s) life.
Justice Olasunbo Goodluck had on May 17, 2018, adjourned the case indefinitely, pending when the senator would be discharged from the Intensive Care Unit of the National Hospital in Abuja, where he was then admitted. However, AGF asked the court to commence the trial now that the Kogi lawmaker has resumed his legislative duties.
The letter sent to the court read in part, “After listening to both counsel for the prosecution and the defence respectively, the court in its wisdom adjourned the case sine die (indefinitely) to enable the medical condition of the defendant to be restored to enable him to attend court for trial.
“My lord, following his removal from the ICU, discharged from the National Hospital, Abuja and his subsequent resumption of duty at the National Assembly precisely on May 30 and 31, we humbly apply for a date for the prosecution to open its case in line with the ruling of this honourable court cited above and hearing notices served accordingly.”

muckross: Fifty Nigerians suspected to be engaged in cyber fraud and armed robberies at Kasoa and its environs have been apprehended by personnel of the Police Intelligence Directorate.
Forty-six laptops, mobile phones and several electronic gadgets were retrieved from the suspects.
It was gathered that the raid was conducted based on intelligence received from residents, who complained about the rise in criminal activities in the area.
The suspects, comprising 49 men and a female, reportedly rented several apartments in the area to plan their nefarious activities.
Briefing the media, the Director-General in-charge of the Police Intelligence Directorate, Commissioner of Police (COP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno, said police personnel from the unit carried out the operation in the said areas at Gomoa Budumburam around 9.00am.
He said about 20 suspects were rounded up in the first apartment, which is a two-bedroom facility. “During the arrest, most of the suspects were busy on their laptops while the others were sleeping.”
COP Yohuno said the exhibits would be forwarded to the Cyber Crime Unit of the Police CID for further investigations.
“We are currently screening them for varying criminal offences, including cyber related crimes and robberies after which they would be handed over to the Ghana Immigration Service for residence status investigations,” the Director-General of the Unit revealed.
COP Yohuno also hinted that 21 out of the 46 suspected Nigerians rounded up in a similar exercise two weeks ago at Amanfrom, are to be repatriated by the Ghana Immigration Service for illegal immigration.

Celebrities › Re: MURIC To Falz: "Withdraw ‘This Is Nigeria’ Video Within 7 Days Or Else" by nabegibeg: 12:06pm On Jun 05, 2018 |
nwakibie3: Below is a statement from the Muslim rights Concern group, MURIC, expressing displeasure at the recent music video, ‘This is Nigeria’ by rapper, Falz the Bahd guy;
Folarin Falana (Falz the Bahd Guy), a Nigerian artist, last week released a new song called ‘This is Nigeria’. The production featured a character that dressed like a Fulani man, who suddenly abandoned his traditional guitar and beheaded a man. It also portrayed women in hijab as choreographers dancing the ‘shaku-shaku’ (a dance associated with a drug-related song).
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) strongly denounces the Shaku Shaku dance video. It is thoughtless, insensitive and highly provocative. It is a hate video. It is Islamophobia nulli secundus. This video has the potential of causing religious crisi of unprecedented dimension. We therefore demand its withdrawal and an apology to Nigerian Muslims within seven days or the authors and their agents will face legal action if they fail to comply.
The video manifests ethnic bias against Fulanis while it ignored the criminal activities of ethnic militia of the Middle Belt who have also massacred Fulanis and rustled their cattles in their thousands. This video has denigrated Islam, demonized Nigerian Muslims and subjected them to public opprobium.
MURIC rejects Falz’ explanation that the the girls in hijab in his ‘Shaku Shaku’ dance symbolize the Chibok girls because nothing in the video indicates that the girls represent the Chibok girls. At least none of the Chibok girls have been seen dancing like a drunkard. They are always in pensive mood. Do they have any cause to be dancing? Are they happy? This video is the most detestable, odious and insidious Islam-bashing in recent time.
Only the scenes portraying police brutality and the money-swallowing snake in the video are near the truth. Falz’ ‘Shaku Shaku’ video is nothing but a hate-induced production. It is a most unpatriotic handiwork of a Nigerian youth in 2018. Here is the work of a youth working towards turning Nigerians against each other; a youth inciting Nigerian Christians to hate their Muslim neighbours; a youth instigating Muslims to religious violence. This video is in bad taste. It is a hate video. It is an assault on the self-dignity of every Muslim. It is freedom of expression gone haywire.
We call the attention of security agencies to this hate action. The tragedy facing modern societies all over the world is their criminal complicity in Islam-bashing and their hypocritical accusation of Muslims of terrorism and religious violence. On the contrary, terrorism is mere smoke. Provocation, derision and injustice are the fires which cause terrorism. We reiterate our pontification that it is naïve for a fire fighter to ignore the fire and turn his hose at the smoke. The world is treating symptoms, leaving the real ailment to fester.
We remind Nigerians of the outcome of similar provocative actions in the past and their unpalatable outcomes. The violent reaction of Nigerian Muslims to Fun Times magazine’s blasphemous story of December 1990 in which it was alleged that “Muhammad had an illicit affair with a woman of easy virtue according to the Qur’an and later married her” shook the country to its foundation. Isioma Daniel’s article, “The World at Their Feet” published in ThisDay newspaper on Saturday, 16th November, 2002, drew the ire of Muslims across the length and breadth of Nigeria.
Violent demonstrations broke out in 2005 when the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten’s published a cartoon in which Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was depicted as a terrorist wearing a bomb-laden turban. In January 2015, Charlie Ebdo, the French satirical magazine used cartoons that were considered provocative by Muslims. Blood flowed on the streets of Paris.
We condemn violence and all acts of terrorism. But we do not share the opinion that freedom of expression can go to any length. Even Pope Francis has warned people not to insult the faith of others. He said, “It is normal. You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faiths of others. You cannot make fun of the faiths of others. Freedom of speech and expression are fundamental human rights. However, there should be a limit to offending and ridiculing the faiths and beliefs of others.”
But has this advice been taken seriously? Nigerian Artistes have consistently proved that they are most willing to ignore the Pope’s advice. They provoke Muslims at the slightest opportunity. They have this habit of giving Muslim names to characters who play devilish, immoral and lowly roles in their films, e.g. Sikiratu Sindodo, Jelili Oniso, Basira Baseje, Osanle Modinat, Aminatu Pa-pa-pa are a few examples. Of recent, Muniru and Ambali play despicable roles of idiocy.
The idea behind this is to make Muslims feel ashamed of the ordinary Muslim name. It is inhuman, despicable and bully-motivated. MURIC will defend the Muslim name with every legitimate tool at its disposal.
There is no gainsaying the fact that a culture of impunity pervades the arts in Nigeria. The National Film And Video Censors Board (NFVCB), a regulatory agency set up by Act No. 85 of 1993 to regulate films and the video industry has a case to answer. ‘Shaku Shaku’ video was shot and released under its watch. What is its alucutus. What will it say if Muslims elect to go violent over this primitive, irresponsible and reckless production? What will it say if hundreds of lives and properties worth billions of dollars are lost in the ensuing violence due to its negligence?
As we round up, MURIC warns Nigerian artists to stop giving Muslim names to devilish and lowly characters. We appeal to Muslims all over the country to simmer down. Let us adopt a civilized approach to ‘Shaku Shaku’ and teach agents provocateur some lessons in respect for human feelings. Instead of going violent, Nigerian Muslims should take those behind the ‘Shaku Shaku’ video to court in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
We therefore give notice of impending legal action against the artist behind the ‘Shaku Shaku’ video unless the latter is withdrawn and an apology is widely published within seven days.

The secret police reportedly withdrew nearly two-thirds of personal security guards attached to Mr Saraki and the remaining three presiding officers at the National Assembly on Saturday.
Over a dozen officers were withdrawn from Mr Saraki’s detail alone. But five of them have now been restored, according to sources close to the Senate President.

Toluwabori, 26, whose address was not given, was remanded by Justice Mojisola Dada, following his “not-guilty’’ plea to a two-count charge of destroying evidence and aiding crime.
“This case is adjourned until June 26 for trial and the defendant shall be remanded in prison custody,” Dada said.

Crime › Re: Police Bust Child Trafficking Syndicates In Abia by nabegibeg: 11:36am On Jun 05, 2018 |
Ebullience: The Abia State Police Command has arrested members of three suspected child trafficking syndicates, including 17-year-old Gift Daniel, who sold her two-day-old baby boy for N670, 000.
The Police Commissioner, Mr Anthony Ogbizi, said this on Monday, while briefing newsmen in Umuahia on the activities of the command.
Ogbizi also said that the command arrested no fewer than 22 other suspected criminals, following raids by his men in the wake of renewed criminal acts in different parts of the state.
Speaking to newsmen, Daniel said that she was compelled to sell the baby due to financial difficulties.
She said that her first baby was sold by her own mother after delivery, hence her resolve to personally sell the second baby.
“My mother sent me away from the house, when I became pregnant for the second baby and because of the financial difficulties, I started looking for somebody to help me.”
Daniel said that she was given N50,000 by the woman who brokered the transaction, 38-year-old Ngozi Nwaiwu, while the nurse, Kate Charles, who helped her during her delivery, got N30,000.
Nwaiwu, who also confirmed the sale to newsmen, said she was trying to help Daniel, considering her plight.
Also, one 22-year-old Blessing Chukwu, who sold her three-week-old baby girl, was arrested along with the alleged buyer, Chinasa Okpara.
Other alleged accomplices, Mrs Puphemia Omende and husband, Kelechi, a medical practitioner, were also arrested.
Police alleged that the couple facilitated the transaction at their hospital in Okigwe, where the baby was born.
Okpara said that she paid N360,000 for the baby and blamed her action on her 13-year-old fruitless marriage.
Chukwu said she already had four children out of wedlock. She said that she was given N190,000, for the three-week old baby, blaming her action on financial challenges.
They were arrested at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, where the baby had reportedly been on admission for the past three weeks.
The command also nabbed 23-year-old Rose Chukwu together with her relation, Joy Sunday, while allegedly attempting to kidnap a little boy at Uzuakoli in Bende Local Government Area.
The police said duo kidnapped the boy at Township Primary School, Uzuakoli, after school and replaced his uniform with another shirt. They were taking him away when someone alerted the police.
The suspects, however, denied the alleged kidnap attempt, saying that they saw the boy wandering and felt that he missed his way and decided to help him to find his way back home.
Ogbizi said that the suspects, who were paraded before newsmen, would be arraigned at the end of investigations.

Health › Re: Ebola: Organisation Calls For Regional Awareness by nabegibeg: 11:21am On Jun 05, 2018 |
Okwyla: The Director-General, West African Health Organisation (WAHO), Stanley Okolo, on Monday called on the regional countries to remain alert as the Ebola epidemic resurfaced in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
“This is a wake-up call on all member countries to always remain alert and prepared,” he said in a statement in Banjul.
Okolo said WAHO had already sent information to the countries reminding them of the international disease surveillance records and regulations that they should use.
“We have also helped some of the countries in terms of support for monitoring travelers at borders, who are coming in from the DRC,” he said.
WAHO liaison officers representing the regional countries are currently discussing health problems including disease surveillance and insufficient health care budgeting in Banjul ahead of the 19th Ordinary Assembly of ECOWAS Ministers on Tuesday, when key decisions will be adopted.
The latest data from the health ministry shows 53 cases of Ebola in the outbreak, including 37 confirmed, 13 probable and three suspected cases.
One new suspected case was recorded on Monday in the rural community of Iboko and five suspected cases came back negative, the health ministry said.
This is the ninth outbreak of Ebola in Congo since the disease was first detected in the country in 1976.
Health officials have moved aggressively to head off a repeat of the 2013-16 outbreak in West Africa that killed over 11,300 people.
The vaccine was first rolled out in Mbandaka on May 21 and hailed as a paradigm shift in the fight against Ebola by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The WHO said in May that it was cautiously optimistic about the progress of the response yet Mbandaka’s location directly upstream the Congo River of the capital Kinshasa, a city of more than 10 million people, remains a concern.
http://www.akelicious.net/2018/06/ebola-organisation-calls-for-regional.html This deadly disease is being release by suspecting entities with one intention only: to wipe out the black race yet my fellow black people has never ever in the history of time being proactive to develop a counter measure to these threats all we know how to do is to born like pigs, kill ourselves over senseless issues, glorify useless norms and expect things to just disappear Hunger, warfare, overpopulation, environmental disaster, diseases, drought, underdevelopment and every form of backwardness is associated with this race. yet one wonders why the Africa continent remains dark with no meaningful contribution to this modern era
