MoNickk: my neighbour just returned from visiting her eldest daughter in boarding school and it made me remember and reminisce about when I was also in boarding school so here's my experience; I started boarding school in ss1 so I didn't cry when I was being dropped off but I remember feeling alone and small. I tried to ward off stares from other students and act like I actually belonged but before long I realised that I was still a learner when it came to some things so I found succor in being rude and believe me my rudeness got me into uglier situations than out of it. Made friends and my fair share of enemies but guess what? I survived boarding school in Nigeria!
pls share your experiences in boarding schools, what you learned and what you enjoyed most. How old are you and your neighbor's daughter Lie keeh you there

Politics › Re: I Saved For Years To Buy My Wife’s G-wagon Car Gift – Gbajabiamila by nabegibeg: 6:24pm On May 31, 2018 |
nwakibie3: A member of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has defended his much talked about car gift to his wife.
The lawmaker trended on social media for days after a photo and video of a brand new Benz G-Wagon he got his wife surfaced online.
The lawmaker presented the surprise gift on May 27 at an event to commemorate her 50th birthday .
Reacting in a statement on Thursday, Mr Gbajabiamila said he saved for “a couple of years” to buy his wife the luxury vehicle.
He said the presentation was meant to be a family affair. However, it was delayed and arrived when guests were already around.
His statement partly read, “My attention has been drawn to the extensive reports especially on social media regarding the presentation of a gift to my wife and best friend in celebration of her 50th birthday anniversary.
Naturally I had anticipated this occasion for quite a while and prepared by saving up for it in the last couple of years. I took the decision far back to present her with a significant gift, she was totally unaware of, to convey in part, the debt of my gratitude to her for standing by me through ‘thick and thin’. I could never have been half the man I am today without her support and unbelievable understanding. Truly, the monetary value of any gift real or imagined, pales in significance when I consider how much of a ‘rock and pillar’ she has been to me.
“The presentation of the gift contrary to public perception, was to be a family affair in our home but it suffered some delays finally arriving when a number of guests were in to celebrate with my wife. It still would have remained a private affair, but I guess we underestimated the power of social media and very excited friends.
“Having said this, I understand and appreciate the reaction of the public. As a public official, one must be held to a higher standard. My action was not meant to offend sensibilities and I regret that it did.
“Being a leader in many spheres, I can very well understand the optics of it. But I would rather want it to be seen as what it is-an expression of deep appreciation and love for my wife of almost thirty years, rather than one of flamboyance.
“I remain truly committed to my values of improving lives for my constituents and Nigerians at large. As the records will show, I have consistently expended much more in achieving this goal especially within my constituency, than I spend on my wife.”

He said: “It’s been amazing since I left Five Star. We’ve been doing great work. We’ve been making money, playing shows.” Weighing-in on the dearth of quality in Nigerian songs, Harrysong said there’s been growth.
He rated the present output as average in comparison to the below par level of the past.

stephenduru: Senator Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi representing Kaduna North Senatorial District has taken to social media to call over Kaduna state over ongoing victimization. According to him,Gov. El-rufai is set to destroy his personal house despite a valid and subsisting court order. He wrote...
'Kaduna State Government is set to demolish my personal house despite a valid and subsisting court order. The matter is still pending in the High Court of justice Kaduna as I write this but the government is bent on carrying out its atrocity.
This is just one of the many court order violations by the Kaduna State Government. We in Kaduna are very much aware of its antecedents when it comes to violation of court orders, because they feel they are above the law.
Its ironic for a government that rushes to sue people in court for mundane issues but turn around to completely ignore court orders against it. It tells so much on the kind of disrespect that they have for rule of law.
Such injustices and abuse of office will not go unchallenged, we will remain committed to the fight against such a tyrannical government legally within our constitutional rights, and we will certainly not relent in ensuring that justice prevails'

Business › Re: Freelancing: Nigerian's Only Hope Of Earning Legitimately Online by nabegibeg: 4:13pm On May 31, 2018 |
andreweb: By now, you must have heard or read about freelance and how it has made life easy for many people. However, what you do not know is that freelance is still a big secret because many just know what it is but not the benefits it can bring them.
Sadly, Nigerians constitute one of those nationalities that are yet to take advantage of freelance. Other countries know about what they can gain from it and are joining freelance sites in droves. For instance, according to a survey conducted by Forbes, freelancers now make up over 35% of US workforce. That percentage represents about 55 million Americans. Don’t these people know something that you don’t know?
The interesting part of all of these is that the population of people who go freelance does not indicate lesser chances for you. The reason is that the sky is big enough for everyone. In as much as you have a skill that you can sell, you will always find buyers who are willing to pay you for it. And as Nigerians, we are naturally good in anything we give out attention. So, you can be confident that you can perform better than many people from other countries. if you will like to see how i made my first million naira as a freelancer kindly follow me to HERE
For the sake of Newbies, what is freelancing and who is a freelancer?
A freelancer is a person who is self employed and render different services for clients and get paid for the services. the services ranges from those that require special skills like programming and web development to those that may not really require any specialized skill like copy and paste, data entry, transcribing etc. the services that can be rendered as a freelancer varies a lot. they include: programming, writing, copy writing, graphics creation/editing, data entry, singing, translation etc.
Now consider the following reasons why you should go freelance.
1. You learn on the job yet get paid for it: Anybody who is a freelancer will agree to this fact. You don’t have to wait till you are perfect before you start selling your skills. As a matter of fact, what will bring you towards perfection is frequent practice of your skill. But what can be better than the fact that you are learning the ropes of the job but you are getting paid for it by different buyers. You have to realize that people need what you have!
2. It’s a cheap way to earn: If you are a worker, you are aware that a sizable part of your income goes into trying to keep earning such as transportation, dressing, feeding etc. If you go into freelance, you don’t have to worry about spending to ensure you keep earning. Freelance costs almost nothing to start or to operate!
3. You get to work for fun: Any skill you have is an indicator that it’s something you enjoy doing. Unlike scenarios where you get tasks that you don’t like; in freelance, you work based on your strengths. You pick a niche that you are comfortable in and then work as though you are having fun. You can as well punctuate work with making phone calls, checking your social media accounts, singing, or doing anything you like. Pure fun!
4. You don’t have to work from 8am-5pm: Who says you have to put in nine hours of work each day before you can make ends meet? Then that person is yet to know what freelance means. Every freelancer knows that work schedule is often flexible. You can work from 8am-10am and have a long stretch of break only to work from 4pm-7pm. This is just an example that freelancers can relate to.
5. It’s a great way to earn full time: So you are looking for a job and you’re yet to find any? Try freelance (after all, it costs nothing!). You can dedicate the data that you use on social media to an avenue to earn while you wait for one of your applications “to click.” Many Nigerians who are unemployed have since turned to freelance and have not regretted it ever since. You can take freelance as a full time job and it will pay you well (especially since the payment is in foreign currency!).
6. It’s a great way to or part time: Are you a student or a worker? Are you in need for another source of cash? Freelance has got your back. Freelance does not mandate you to work non-stop for hours. You can work at your pace. That means you can work a few hours each day to shore up your income. 3-4 hours each day as a part time worker can be a great boost to your finance.
7. You can choose your holidays: Those who work in an office environment know how difficult it is to get their off-days approved. But when you work as a freelancer, you get to have a lot of free time for yourself. For instance, you can have your weekends all to yourself. However, there are times that you need to stay away to attend to certain issues around you or just to relax. Freelance makes it possible. You can choose your holidays without taking permission from anyone. All in All
For most people, three factors serve as the basis of accepting a job offer and they are: a good take-home pay, convenient working conditions and the opportunity to improve their skills through use (performance). Freelance offers you these three benefits and many more.
If you are still toying with the idea of trying freelance, make the decision today! You need to put it at the back of your mind that the skill which you have and look down on can fetch you cool cash beyond your imaginations!

ViaFast: @APROKOGIRL
A 23-year-old university student who was born without a vagina, has become the first in the world to undergo pioneering surgery that constructed a new vaginal canal out of fish skin.
According to Mirror, the operation took place at the Federal University of Ceara (UFC), Brazil. The girl was diagnosed in her teens with having no cervix, uterus, ovaries or womb.
Jucilene Marinho has now spoken for the first time and talked about how the revolutionary operation using skin of the tilapia fish has changed her life and allowed her to have sex for the first time.
The unorthodox treatment, which was led by gynaecologist, Dr Leonardo Bezerra, is faster, cheaper and less aggressive than the conventional method used for sufferers of Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH).
The revolutionary treatment involves opening a space between the vagina and anus and inserting a tubular mould lined with the skin of the freshwater fish.
Once in contact with the patient’s body, tilapia skin acts like stem cells and is absorbed and transformed into cellular tissue forming the walls of the canal, similar to that of an actual vagina. . . Before being used, the fish skin undergoes a special cleaning and sterilisation process in the lab followed by irradiation to kill viruses. . . The process removes all the scales and fish smell and results in a light-coloured gel dressing that can be stored for up to two years in refrigerated sterile packaging.

newsynews: A Kuwait Islamic preacher, Mubarak al-Bathali has slammed Egyptian Liverpool player, Mohamed Salah, who got injured during the 2017/2018 UEFA Champions League final against Spanish giants, Real Madrid. Salah got himself injured during a tussle for the ball with Sergio Ramos leading to him sustaining a shoulder injury which ended his game in Kyiv.
Reacting to the incident, Mubarak al-Bathali claims Mohamed Salah suffered the blow due to him breaking his fast.
Muslim’s are allowed to break their fast for travel purposes, but the Kuwaiti preacher believes the highly rated player didn’t break his fast because of the journey from England to Ukraine but because of the match itself. He further claimed that ‘God punished him’ for eating before the match during Ramadan.
Mubarak al-Bathali wrote on Twitter:
“God punished him,”
“Unfortunately, [he will] bear the burden.
“Do not think the Muslim believes that life is managed by reason and effort, but life is the hand of God comes to whom he will, whether hard or not diligent.
“Perhaps the injury is good for you.
“Do not grieve, the door of repentance is open”.
The preacher also advised the player to consider his injury as a lesson and a reminder that everything happens by God’s will. “Preachers who said it is acceptable for him to break his fast have also permitted other things”, he said.
He also added that the star who is highly sorted by Real Madrid is considered an ambassador for Muslims who has changed the image of Muslims in the West. He also praised him for his other habits such as walking away when his teammates drink alcohol.
