It's still expensive
And you don't know if the 18K is renewable through out your studies.
Just wait or mail the others for updates
Goo luck

According to the email sent to me, the 18k will be credited to my account every year for 4years if I maintain a CGPA of 2.0 Which is practically possible. The only condition is that I stay on campus. Anyway, I will still wait for updates from the rest.
Thanks a lot.

Imagine the fees for an associate degree. Equivalent to HND.

They wrote 4years BSc o not associate

18k for partial schorlarship?v shocked Then the actual tuition will be exorbitant. Why not wait for the decision of the 2 other schools you applied to? Your age is gonna be a huge factor with the CC admission thing.

I'm in my early 20s. I'm still waiting for the other schools, I just want to meet up with fall.

Ok. But $18k is cool money.

Go with the school. At least that money will act as catalyst to your visa interview success at the embassy.

You're clever!!!

The money is cool, not sure about the school.

Lol. I wish. My brother for one year o. The application was free, so I jokingly applied and forgot all about it after I read about colleges here.

There is nothing stopping you from attending community college. Why people usually advice you not to go to the embassy with it is due to it credibility. The advice is, get a university and a community college admission, go to embassy with the university admission and when you secure your visa, when you arrive US you transfer to the community college or you run away

I know CC is totally red flag, and I think CCs are schools that offers 2yrs associate or so to my understanding. This one is offering me 4yrs BSc, that's y I said I should ask if it's still considered CC undecided don't even understand again myself undecided

Darklight my man..I go with innovativeme's suggestion...work on your confidence and be calm when answering those questions as if you are hearing them for the first..Is late though you shd have lied abt your place of work since you are not submitting your personal SOA..you could have convinced him a little..if you have little savings in your account for the next interview...take it along and let the VO knows your dad is a major sponsor and that you will provide stipend since you have been working before now.

Won't they ask for something relating to his place of work? Like I'd card or statement of account or something?

Hello Nairalanders, I initially applied for the accelerated nursing program in Illinois state university but then some people advised me to change to another course because VOs don't normally grant visas to people going to study nursing so I changed to health information management but I already have a degree in cell biology and genetics(university of lagos) and now I'm hearing that they don't usually issue visas to second degree applicants, my interview is on may 26th, 2015...I'm a little confused...should I tell the vos I'm going for a second degree or a forget that I have a prior BSc and just say I'm going for a first degree instead? Thank you

Please house, is this true?

Please ask them again and again, if possible send them a mail so that they can respond in writing, then if in the future they change their mouth, you quote them. They told me at first that I don't need the Ietls thingy, but now they closed my app, opened another one with the request for Ietls or toefl. So please be smart with your money as they are confused.

Hi,

I read your comments and wanted to offer my two cents. Why not go for a masters straight? The thing is, if you want to do MA Economics (which is what I am studying), If you meet GPA requirements, you can be admitted for a Pre-masters or what Alberta calls Qualifying year which is basically like doing a 4th year undergrad before proceeding into your masters proper. Saves you time and better enhances your chance. Regarding schools, I applied into 4 schools and all 4 had Qualifying year. Here are the schools for guidelines:
1. University of Alberta
2. Guelph university (Ontario)
3. Memorial University
4. University of Manitoba.

Like I said, most schools have Qualifying year which is basically for students who wish to do a masters in Economics but had a different undergrad degree so read their MA requirement and just opt for that instead.

All the best!

This is new to me and quiet a piece. Thanks a lot for ur 2cents, really appreciate it. Will check them out and mail their admissions for further info. Thanks a lot

if I may ask you study EDU in Uni Four years and you wan start again another uni Four years course, if I may ask why didn't you stop when u started EDU course and look for another course

I tried switching, but trust my village school, it don't work and people (and fam) kept on telling me to continue that it doesn't matter what course I studied as far I come out with 2'1. But at the day of the day, what one need is self fulfillment, Iv always wanted Economics and that's what I'm going for.

or @ Nabylet and others in the shoe could apply for the FSWP to later find their ways in Canada if they stand a chance though. The thread for the FSWP is https://www.nairaland.com/1279130/canadian-federal-skilled-worker-program-timelines
hope this helps her and others contemplating.

Iv checked it out even before I started looking for admission, dint see my profession there, studied education, hate the profession and I don't want to practice it, that's y I'm struggling to start again.

@Nabylet, twas options u selected that triggered the response you got from them.

same applies to visa application... na the answers you give whilst taking on the questionnaire go determine docs u go upload.

I already told you before... since what you want is to start afresh, no need selecting the option that says you have attended a post secondary education.

I have applied to UofA and lethbridge, dint include uni, lemme see what will happen this time. Lemme join the Igbo train grin
