Katsumoto: You are right to an extent that there will be problems in the new republics but one can't really say what problems will exist. But I know one problem will go away: the killing of innocent youth corpers who get slaughtered while supposedly serving their nation. I am pro-Nigeria but in so far as there is peace. What is the purpose of a unified nation when people get slaughtered like cows by fellow citizens for one ludicrous reason or the other? If and when Nigeria splits, any southerner who ventures into Northern will only have himself/herself to blame for any deadly misfortune.
If the break-up of Nigeria will eliminate the killings of innocent people, then Nigeria should split. How about the innocent killings by Armed robbers, That means people cant travel freely around Nigeria? If Hausa go will that stop ? All i want people to see is that this is not the main problem bothering Nigeria. Fix the CORRUPTION you fix all of Naijas problems like JUJU or GEJ's Magics numbers . PDP + Elites = the Nigerian mans enemy. The sooner people realise the better. |

Kilode?!: @Nadanbata, splitting is not the end, it is just one political tool. I want restructuring and I do not care about the UN as much as you do. If Nigerians vote overwhelmingly for a political solution. The UN will just add more names to their number list, it has nothing to do with them really. If you had said Oil companies I would understand
Anyway I can post links to my ideas on what we need to do. Outright splitting is not the only option.
I don't want to derail this thread though. This is for you and yours to speak and share your perspectives. Fire on! Not just UN, trade agreements, diplomatic etc etc. Travel, business. It would put an stop to all that some would recognise all the states, some only Nigeria. Situation could drag on for years. Thats even before any refrendum was put together. What if 45% agree to split 55% dont? You think there wont be trouble/civil war that would put us back 50 years? Split aint no Abracadabra let me tell all who think its easy like them JUJU numbers 99.89% GEJ pulled at home Plus I still need an explnation of how splitting will eliminate the corruption thats holding us back? Or Is people beleive the corrupted leaders up North are causing the 419 in the Delta? Or rather is it your own leaders causing your own 419?. we speaking post away . |

Politics › Re: The Hausas (an Alternate Pespective) by Nadanbata: 1:48am On Apr 21, 2011 |
@ Kilode?!
The problem I have with splitting is that. It still wont take away the fundamental problem that all Nigerians share CORRUPTION, Just Cause the North goes doesnt mean suddenly people in the South start 'eating'. For the same people manipulating us will be there. This why Its better we sort out the problem together for we would all be much better off than going individually in the long run.
The split would be impractical anway. How would you do it ? What if some dont agree with how it is carried out? Remember the UN only recgonises NIGERIA, not Arewa Republic, or Ijaw Republic, Or Yoruba Land etc. |

EzeUche__: Some more nonsense. Do you see the people in South rioting due to poverty? And there was rioting in Abuja. Was there? I thought it turned out to be fake? anyway Poverty can cause such issues, If you wish to deny poverty as a factor and look at it with ethnic/religous glasses you are free to do so, me however I will focus on the root cause and that is deprivation due to corrupted system of our nation. Also where Emirs not targeted? where politicians not targetted? |

For me its simple. Dont blame the Almajari (homeless/beggers etc). They are a Product of the (knowing) faliure of Naija leadership (PDP). Blame PDP with ther $1000 suits. SMH.
Buhari didnt order no riots, it was spontaneous. And of course I condem all violence targetted at the minortites in the North. |

GenBuhari: ^^GEJ did not do any campaigns in the North of SW
So how does that proof that Buhari lost? I have no doubt that PDP rigged these elections. Clearly 40%+ PDP in Jigawa/Sokoto/Kaduna/Adamawa etc is a MYTH. Just as 70% turnout in SS/SE is a MYTH. However I am saying CPC was not present in the whole of Nigeria. We want change not jus for the North but in the SW/SS/SE. These are the regions in the next 4 years where work needs to be put in by us the educated children of Nigeria to ensure we get rid of PDP RESOUNDINGLY come 2015. |

PDP shackles can be broken in Core North and SW come 2015. Middle belt and SS/SE is the problem PDP Rigging Machine is strong there. @ Topic Nothing will ever come of PDP 12 years of waste prove this, One man cannot change anything for the whole system is corrupt. GenBuhari: Why do you guys believe that Buhari actually lost these elections why not try and mobilize to challenge it?
It simply does not seem possible that Buhari lost.
Buhari is challengng the results and we should be demanding re-run of the elections and stop being defeatist.
All indications prior to the election were that Buhari was far more popular not only on Nairalang polls, but also on the ground - the biggest crowds attending his rallies.
Please can we stop saying he lost as I do not believe he lost. At the very worst it should have been close enought for a 2nd round run off elections.
People shine your eyes - we were cheated! It was a run off for sure. But Buhari didnt do enough campaign in the South of the country. Come 2015 it can be corrected though we have 4 years. It was a great achievment getting 12 million votes spending a fraction of what GEJ did. So I see hope for Naija. |

proudly9ja: CPC is a political party. My suggestion is that this group, along with others work to keep CPC as main opposition. By God's Grace we should work in maintaining the support of the north while seeking ways to extend to the south. Are u suggesting something online or actually on the ground. I personally think it needs to be on the ground as well to have any affect, but the problem is funds for campaign. Need donations and all that stuff, |

These NairaLanders are blinded by ethnicity. They dont want to hear anything about the obvious rigging because their boy (GEJ) won. Personally I have nothing agaisnt him but that his party PDP is the definition of corruption. There is no election in the world where a guy will take 99.86% of the vote and you seee turnout 80%+. At least if you going to RIG do so reasonably and sensibly, dont tell me 40%+ voted GEJ in Sokoto and expect me to believe that.
This election was a run off in which GEJ would probably have edged it. But instead his party produced some JUJU Magic numbers (25% in North states) for him to win outright lols. Now we see SPONTANEOUS(i.e not sanctioned by any leader) violence from angry youths who are tired of PDP, although i condem strongly all attacks on Christians in the North. Blame PDP's ELITES for all that is happening! |

Ileke-IdI: I know.
There was another map that illustrated the distribution of national parties across Nigeria. It was posted a while ago, searching for it.
CPC have support where? Only in the Northern section of Nigeria. ACN will most likely take the SW, PDP in the SS/MB. Yes thats where im talking at least everbody weaken PDP in their own area, so when 2015 comes we can vote them out with our own MAGIC Numbers. if SS/SE want to vote PDP in governor, GoodLuck to them. |

Hope to God more North states say bye to PDP as well. PDP controlled army on the streets might be a problem though.
I see more trouble if PDP RIG again though smh. And I dont see how they can keep control if they dont rig. If you loose governors. There will be no magic numbers say 1.2 million PDP vote in Kaduna in 2015. haha.
BTW any map off the National assembly elections? what party was voted and where ? |
Politics › Re: The Real Map Of Nigeria -the Ultimate Truth by Nadanbata: 4:47am On Apr 20, 2011 |
Beaf: Exactly, we both have a very different interpretation of who the elites are. It is funny that Sambo's house was burnt down, same as Na'aba and a few other very good peoples houses; whereas IBB's house is still standing, Atiku's house is still standing, so are Ciroma's, Kaita's, Tanimu Yakubu's, Abba Ruma's, numerous ex-generals houses etc These are the people who have ra'ped the country for 38 years.
PDP is not the same as the Northern elite, cabals and hegemonists that have held the whole country to ransome and impoverished the North. The elite control the almajiri's and it shows in the way they targetted the wrong peoples houses, burnt churches, killed Christians and Southerners. If you, an educated Northerner thinks the almajiri's targetted their oppressors, then there is a lot of confusion in the Northern mind as to who the real enemy is. Please take another look at the situation, but this time, pretend to be a Southerner. Come on bros. lols. Your saying ATIKU + IBB sanctioned the protest/riots rather than it being spontaneous ? And you are saying PDP is not the arm via wish the elite control things ? |

Beaf: We will never carry the problem of Nigeria to any new country. Instead of practising this nonsense where everybody collects money from Abuja, it would be the local govts paying taxes to the states and the states paying taxes to the FG in turn. Thats the only way to run a country that is serious about developing, its also the only way to kill both corruption and ethnic bigotry. With such a system there would never be the sort of foolish rioting and church burning going on now, because the FG would no longer be so powerful and rich, all the money would be at local govt and state levels (and it wouldn't be that much as well).
The South has been clamouring for a sovereign national conference to discuss such issues, but the Northern elite have always blocked it and gone instead for the current system that causes corruption, bloodshed and enslavement of other parts of the country. No doubt the poor Hausa's and Fulani's suffer even more than most Southerners, but that is the fault of the Northern elite.
What I find most ironic is that GEJ has already promised that the FG will train the very almajiri's that are killing Southerners. But these almajiri's prefer to kill on the orders of the very Northern elite that deprived them off education and made them poor. Who will implent and run the Southern system though? Is it not the same ELITES that control tings now? or will there be some miracle JUJU that produces new leaders? Northern elite and Southern elite are both corrupt that conspire to use the ethnic divide to keep the status quo. When you blame the Hausawa you play into they hands just like almajari attacking Christians does. For the common folk they dont understand this because the elites have kept them backward. But us educated ones should see the game dey play. On the bolded. I heard there was a million + on the streets and they attacked EMIRS/PDP infrastucture it wasnt on the order of them PDP elites. lol. |
Politics › Re: Why Not The Russian Model For Nigeria by Nadanbata: 4:15am On Apr 20, 2011 |
Whatever model you choose will not work for the elites (PDP) that control NAIJA have an iron grip on the country, and will disease and manipulate to their own gains. It is not an ethnic issue but an ELITIST one. However these elections showed that PDP can be broken. 10 million Victory margin is nothing when there was blatent inflation of numbers in favour of PDP. Plus the SW didnt really vote so there is hope yet |

Beaf: I guess you think that the only sort of glue that can hold a nation together is the farce that is currently applied? You are wrong, anything that comes out of a split would have to be equitable, not based on a lazy top-down revenue sharing formula that breeds a scramble for the centre, corruption, laziness and backwardness.
I guess you are a Northerner from your id. Don't make assumptions. . . And welcome to NL. The same Problem you have with Naija as it is, is the same problem Southerners will take with them should there be a NORTH/SOUTH divide. Northerners will not have no unity problem or problem with allocation of the OIL which the elites that rule Naija SOLEY share. Its not the ABOKI/MALLAM who holds Naija back it is corruption via PDP. People that wear tinted ethnic glasses make me LOL. Them 'almajaris' are a product of Naijas faliure, its not no 419 via Islam, distancing yourself and saying its the Hausa thats Naijas problem is funny for dey suffer just like the brothers in the SS/SE.
