A prominent Kaduna-based pastor and the leading pastor of The King Worship Chapel and Ministry, Kaduna, Rev. Azzaman David, is dead.

Azzaman died in a motor accident on Saturday while returning from Makurdi, Benue State, to his base in Kaduna.

The Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja, Rev. John Joseph Hayab who confirmed the development in a statement, described the cleric’s death as a great loss to Christian community.

“Evangelist Azzaman was a courageous preacher, an unapologetic defender of the Christian faith, and a passionate advocate for the rights of persecuted believers. His life and ministry were marked by boldness, spiritual conviction, and an unwavering commitment to truth and justice.

“Kaduna has truly lost a great soldier of Christ. Evangelist Azzaman stood tall in defense of Christianity, fearlessly speaking out against injustice and persecution. He was a prophetic voice, a bridge-builder, and a spiritual father to many across denominations and communities.

“Though his departure leaves a great vacuum in the Christian community, we rejoice in the assurance that he has finished his race and now rests in the eternal glory of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

CAN extends the body’s heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, congregation, and all who were touched by his life and ministry.

It prayed the Lord’s comfort for the Church “and give all of us strength in this season of mourning.

“May his soul rest in peace and may his legacy continue to inspire courage and faith among believers”.

Tragedy occurred in Isseke, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Thursday, when some yet-to-be-identified assailants murdered a family of four comprising three females and one elderly man in their apartment.

It was gathered that the killers invaded their apartment while they were sleeping, killed them and left their lifeless bodies on the floor of their rooms.

The reason for the attack is yet to be known, however, eyewitnesses in the area said the gunmen unprovokedly attacked the elderly man and his family members.

The spokesman for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, who confirmed the incident when contacted on Friday, identified the victim’s family as Ichie Kennedy Igboanugo from Ekwuru Isseke (Ichie Akuruoulo 1 of Isseke).

Ikenga said the joint security team has cordoned off the area for any untoward situation, adding that the bodies of the victims have been recovered and deposited at the mortuary while investigations continue.

He said, “Following the simultaneous onslaught/joint clearance operations involving the police, military and other security operatives to dislodge the criminal elements and deny them the space to commit havoc in the state, regrettably in the late hours of May 22, 2025, recorded a cowardly gruesome murder of a family of four, including three females and one man, by criminal elements at Isseke, Ihiala Local Government Area.

“Preliminary information revealed that the criminals unprovokedly attacked the elderly man and his family members. The family was later identified as Ichie Kennedy Igboanugo from Ekwuru Isseke (Ichie Akuruoulo 1 of Isseke).

“The bodies of the victims have been recovered and deposited at the morgue while investigations continue.”

According to him, the command, while commiserating with the relatives and friends of the victims, is currently working on some clues to arrest the perpetrators.

“The joint security team has also reinforced the area for any untoward situation. Further developments shall be communicated, please,” he added.

A yet-to-be identified female student of Seico Secondary School, Ikangba, Ijebu Ode has been confirmed dead and another severely injured, after a truck rammed into them while returning back from school.

The incident occurred on the newly rehabilitated Ikangba/Agoro road on Friday.

DAILY POST learnt that the students were returning home after finishing their West Africa Examination for Senior Secondary when the truck coming from Molipa end lost control and ram into the students coming from the opposite direction.

Giving an account of the incident, a resident in the area and chairman of Ogun State chapter of Campaign for Democratic and Workers Rights, Eko Nicholas, said the truck after running into the students crashed into the fence of a Redeemed church beside the road.

He said, “The students were obviously those writing this ongoing WASSCE because they were holding the question papers.

“One of the students, a female died on the spot while another female was also critically injured, we are all praying she make it.”

Nicholas, however, blamed the incessant accident on the failure of the government to help with road bumps or breakers that could easily help to check the reckless drivers plying the road.

He said “This is yet another needless deaths on the Ikangba/Agoro road, bringing the number of souls lost from February to six, including several ones that were injured.

“We again call on the state government to construct speed breakers and street lights to stem these avoidable and painful deaths.

Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, when contacted confirmed the incident saying, “one school pupil died.”

What Exactly Is Happening In Delta State?

The Delta State Police Command, led by CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has confirmed that a man simply identified as Paul stabbed his younger brother to death in Ugbokodo, Okpe Community, in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the report in a text sent to our correspondent in Warri.

His message read, “Confirmed,” noting that the suspect has been arrested.

The suspect and his son, on Thursday evening, allegedly stabbed his younger brother, Saturday, to death over a dispute involving two thousand naira at the Ugbokodo waterside, DAILY POST can report.

It was learnt that two thousand naira belonging to the suspect’s wife went missing, and she accused the deceased, who denied stealing the money earlier in the day.

She insisted that he was responsible and seized his shirt during a heated argument.

In the process, the deceased reportedly slapped his elder brother’s wife before neighbours intervened and separated them.

The woman then called her husband, popularly known as Papa Jeffery, who rushed to the scene in anger. Without asking what had transpired between his wife and his younger brother, he reportedly asked one of his sons to accompany him.

They tracked Saturday to the waterside, where they beat and stabbed him multiple times until he died.

Following the incident, angry youths in the Ugbokodo community mobilized and set fire to the suspect’s house and his wife’s shop.

It took the swift intervention of soldiers and police officers to bring the situation under control.
