Eke40seven:

You can switch courses through normal applications and you wouldn't need visa hassles here in Naija. The application process is the same...but this is possible if you had extended your initial 3 months visa you were granted here in Naija in the school through which you were granted admission, if you are planning to switch to another school in a subsequent semester.
However, if for instance you were granted admission in two schools and you used one for your visa processing, you can decide to resume at the other one when you get to Germany.
Our ogas can add minus or help throw more light into this for your benefit and for the benefit of others.
Hope you find it helpful.

Good luck!

Thank you Eke40seven, You are very helpful!

Hello house,
For those who are already studying or have studied, Is it possible to change schools after you have started in a university? Hypothetically you start in one university this winter semester and then you want to change to another university by summer semester, Or if one starts in summer semester and wants to go to a different university in the winter semester to do a different course? How easy is it to make changes? What does one need to do to switch school? (This is for bachelors degree)
Please help!

Can someone respond to this please...

Its unfair to make up things and mislead people, you said its a new rule but there is no evidence of that rule, so you would have wasted her time and money to traveling to Abuja for something doable in Lagos? Smh

I have not misled anyone and stop drawing unncessary conclusions.(Did she tell you she has travelled and her money was wasted? Abi you feel like writing)
You wanted a link, i told you there is no weblink, does not mean it does not exist. What would it profit me to make up things and mislead someone on nairaland. we are a community and here to help pne another. if you go to the immigration office you will be told the same thing. Abuja is where you can reissued a new passport if it was stolen.
I'm pretty sure of my information, like i said before she doesn't have to go with it.

Please can you paste the link to the new rule? I know one only go to Abuja for change of name or DOB

There is no link, if you are waiting for a website to tell you to go to Abuja. It's pretty easy she can go to Lagos office like you have said, with only the police report who knows it might work, anything is possible. I only gave my advice from what i know and sure of. She doesn't need to go with what I have said quite frankly. It's an information I had and shared, what she does is up to her.

betty55: what can l say to wonder people of nigeria in this forum, you guys are owesome,a bit relieve.my biggest problem now is passport l was told l have to go to abuja and it will cost 150,000naire and one mouth to process it,my sister in germany has done more than enough for me to put her through this journey again.she paid everything so far reach even to my transport here and there, she is amazing, to think about putting her through this is what pain me the most.please any one with advise regarding to passport isue,my sister spoke with the school proffesor and my resumption date has been extended till end of the mounth and he will send me a mail adress to the embassy to prevent further delay from them.l don,t know how to pay her back for all this,

Please note the process can never cost 150000 to get a new passport. The new rule is to get your lost passport done in Abuja. Do not be scammed by anyone. Go to the immigration office in Abuja it's pretty straightforward. You might be tempted to cut corners but really you don't need that wahala now.

Hello betty55, first i will say I am sorry to hear about your awful incident, it is terrible but we thank God for life because it could have been worse. You are healthy and you have life, so there is hope and opportunity to go on.
For your passport, you have to get a police report, court affidavit and then go to Abuja immigration office and make your case. The process is about 28k. Now depending on your case it, the time frame may differ. So if this is your first loss it will take about three days. If you have reported a lost passport before then you will have to be reinterviewed and your case investigated before a reissue.
So please get yourself treated, if possible get an X-ray done if you had any physical trauma, then the police , the court and then Abuja. As for your ticket it will be safer to open your ticket as oppose to rescheduling because you really do not know when all these will be sorted.
You might even be favoured the robbers may throwaway your documents so you might not need to retrieve your certificates. If you don't find the certificates, I won't advice you to travel without getting your certificates or some note from any of these bodies. The longer you keep it the less sympathetic they are with you when you go to meet them.
Even if your travel documents are sorted you still need your certificates when you travel. It's really a lot to bear but be strong that's the best way to get things done at this time.
God's favour in all your endeavours"

dolpaz: Hello Guys,

I noticed somthing about germany structure of schooling. For Bachelors, Some Hochschule and Fachhochschule requires at least B1 level for Bsc while most Universities requires B2. except for english taught courses.

I have series of emails to read and respond to, and trust me, over 12 of them asked for Minimum of B1 and either IELTS/TOEFL for english/german class. It really got me thinking if everybody here have learned the german language up to B1.

For Master's studiengange, they asked for a Minimum of B2 except english courses which requires IELTS as usual.. Now, apart from Rhine Waal and some schools which I felt comfy with. Is there a way to gain admission with A1/A2 then complete the language course over there in Germany??
This thing can be so tiring jare cry cry
If you are a science student then try hamburg uni of tech, they accept a2 min for English taught courses

Horatio27: Duisburg Essen is in German and English. u need A2 German to apply

Yes, but you start taking some courses in german from year two and then its 50/50 by third year.
Most universities that teach in english usually require some level of german proficiency. I meant you are learning for free, the least one can do is learn their language.

Good day,
I also applied to Rhein waal but I'm yet to receive any mail with regards to the application status. I initially thought it had to do with the extension of application to September 1, but with the news of letters being shared I'm becoming apprehensive.
Please do share the time duration it took from application to admission, also your intending course of study.
Thanks

How did you open your blocked account? Do you have an admission letter? i applied to Rhein Waal as well and have not heard from them. i was made to understand that i cannot open a blocked account without an admission letter. Please advice.
Food / Will You Use Locally Made Liquid Dishwash For Your Plates And Pots? by naijadove: 4:19pm On Sep 18, 2013
Please which dishwashing liquid is the best for the Kitchen? I was given a dishwash to use and it does not remove oil/grease properly. I want a dishwash liquid that remove oil/grease, stains, especially palm oil, because I love bole, roasted yam and fish with sauce (Perfect delicacy). Sometimes I have to use a lot of dishwash liquid to remove the oil stains, I need something more effective. Are the locally made ones put in eva water bottle good or are there proper dishwash liquid made in Nigeria that are very effective.

Do they have different meanings to you or do they mean the same thing?

Politics / Re: State Of Roads In Rivers State (the Home Of Red Mud!) by naijadove: 10:24am On Sep 21, 2011
the number of retarded souls on this nairaland is alarming. a person posts a comment/compliant or whatever to aid change and the way out is to attack the person and make silly comparisons.
If lagos roads are bad, does it justify why port harcourt roads should be bad.
I keep wondering why people keep comparing lagos to phc. lagos is a state for christ sake while phc is just a capital of 'rivers' state. ( that is phc is equivalent to ikeja.
if a little city like port harcourt has so many terrible roads then what is left in the city.
the picture of the terrible road uploaded is ada george road and it is a major road in the city. it is not just one bad road, we can go on, there is the industrial road in township area, east-west road (eleme - eliozu axis) is horrible, elelenwo road, iwofe road and the list can go on.
we have large pot holes in the so called "good roads'. phc is a small over crowded city with poor road networks, the smallest pothole will cause a traffic.
there is nothing wrong speaking up to create awareness, i 'may' speed up work. healthy criticisms are to make people better not to put people on the defensive.
if someone talks about bad roads, it doesn't mean he is not loyal to the government, he/she wants the government to be better, rather the idiot that is defending wants the government to keep failing its people.
