Foliar spray can kill them if you spray in the sun. It has happened to my watermelon before. Foliar spray has to be done early before sunrise or at sunset.

I had this pilot watermelon farm that I had been taken care in the last 53days or thereabout, but in the recent two weeks, I discovered some of my watermelon plant wither and die mysteriously. A closer look and review of past events had not give any clue, hence my request to you all.

The following treatment had been judiciously carried out on the farm since 10 days after planting and repeated at rate of six to seven days interval.
Treatment composition are
1. Bounty (liquid NPK foliage fertilizer)
2 IMI Force
3 Scotch. (insecticide, fungicide)
4 Cypertrap (Cypermetrin)

You are correct, when I saw small ball of watermelon on that pilot farm at about 34days old after planting. I was elated. The feelings is just like childbirth.

Having read and benefited from many free articles on and off Nairaland on both crops and animals production in Agriculture. I decided to give it a trial sometimes back in August 2017. However, I make sure I bought a manual on watermelon (I had never farm it before, so my experience with it is zero. Also, I left farming many many years ago after secondary school.) that I had been religiously following.
