What's with this new craze of covering the salary but leaving the full name, address and file reference number of the newly employed, when in actual sense, it should be the other way round? Few weeks ago, we say the newly approved salary structure of NPA, so either ways you have protected nothing. 10 Likes |

I felt irritated by just reading your post. Let me guess, your "entitled" girlfriend is jobless and adds no financial value to your relationship. Yet she wants to dictate the tune. Any partner that tells me or even suggests how I should treat or relate with my family members, I will cut you off immediately. Rubbish! 22 Likes 5 Shares |

TomjoTM: Your pathway to a Canadian permanent residency is shorter with UK 1 year masters.
You get 2 years post study stay with UK, you can write IELTS and learn French while in your first post study stay, you get very high score with masters, good English and French results, enough for you to apply for and get Canadian permanent residency all within 3 years.
The Canadian option is longer, you get masters in 4 years, and possibly get your PR in 5-6years.
I'll choose UK if I were you, and you might even be fortunate to get pnp. Ever heard of PGWP and CEC? In my opinion, the OP should opt for Canada. UK is over-saturated. |

That Pay4me is ridiculous. You are exchanging at black market rate and you are still charging a whooping 10-12% of the total amount being transacted. Why won't I just find dollar at the black market and fund my dorm acct? |

I agree. What I meant is, the message doesn't look like something that FMWs/FCSC would send out. I hate to see typos in a supposed professional exchange. Anyways, you are absolutely correct. The typo is something to be wary of because they are usually prominent in scam messages. However, this is a country where a Federal University offered me a PhD admission and spelt "postgraduate" as "postguate" and they left it on the letter and even disbursed the letters like that. That's why I said he should do his due diligence. When NIA was sending text messages for test invites, they kept making errors and sent the message thrice before they got it right 4 Likes |

I disagree with you on this. You are the exception, not the rule. The standard pipeline is to work so-called survival jobs before getting that appropriate (or desired) job. There's no other way you want to spin it.
The problem is in thinking that working so-called survival jobs is denigrating. Working factory jobs isn't the only option available. There are also respectable remote "survival" jobs, and for some other people, the pay is actually what makes it a survival job, not the job itself. In fact, this is pretty much the case for the majority since most people would never really land that lucrative job to start with. If you were working an oil company job paying you over 40m per annum in Nigeria and then moved to Canada to take up a customer service role paying you 45k CAD, then that clearly is a survival job. But if you were working a customer service job in Nigeria earning 4m per annum, and then landed another customer service job in Canada paying you 45k CAD, then that clearly is no survival job. You have, in fact, simply landed in your field of work and should work your way up from there. "Survival" merely depends on the context.
In any case, I never got a job in Canada from Nigeria. I came to Canada for school, applied to jobs for some months after school, and ended up in my desired field with way more than my desired salary. That's also a pathway. Yours, whereby you got a job from Nigeria, is super rare and will not happen to a sizeable handful. Heck, out of 10, it won't happen to 9. Selling that narrative as the likely or plausible scenario for the majority is just outright inconsiderate.
Finally, working so-called survival jobs is not a bad thing and, more importantly, it's not unusual in the Canadian job market, even if it's not necessarily what everyone must do when they land. Key here is that it's the reality of the Canadian job market. Nonetheless, whoever does it only needs to know that they should keep their focus and continue working towards getting into their desired field, something which will inevitably happen if they keep at it. That's the reality of the majority. Okay, I like this perspective too 1 Like |
