You still don't understand.
Read below.

However, a senior lawyer, Professor Konyinsola Ajayi, yesterday, said the CBN was free to carry on with the cash swap policy, despite the court ruling. He stated that the CBN, not being a party before the Supreme Court, hence the court was not expected to grant an order against a person not before it; not sued or not heard.

He said, “The CBN is free to carry on with its policy on currency redesign taken in accordance with the plenitude of its powers under both the CBN Act and Currency Control Act. It is fitting to note that just about six weeks ago (on 02/12/22) the SCN held in the case of Adedeji & ors. v CBN that CBN is independent by law and can’t be controlled by FGN.”

Note: I typed so fast, some errors can apply here and there…

I won’t be voting this time because I don’t live in Nigeria, I honestly have mobilized people while here and I think I’ve also directed them to the right path and hopefully they make the right choice.
I’ve headed 3 different leadership positions in the past and with my current experience even in those little ways, I can agreed easily that those can also be applied in a broader environment.

Let me quickly access what I believe leadership entails and position the top 4 candidates thus;

A leader should:
1. Be able to Negotiate: In this scenario, I see Obi,Atiku and Kwankwaso probably fitting in. I don’t understand what the like of Tinubu will be discussing when faced with a President like Biden or the Uk Prime minister, what’s exactly will he discuss in terms of climate, economy and co

2. Be able to limit proxies and dig deep to understand: Obi and Kwankwaso falls into the category, both seem like people who want to learn more about every situation, they will employ ministers but can easily ask questions before arriving at decisions,Tinubu and Atiku will have too many proxies, too many representatives and won’t care whatever most of their decisions are and can easily relax and go with anything

3. A leader should allow people protest and debate: People must disagree regardless of how nice your leadership is, how you treat them matters, will you welcome their views, listen to them and dialogue as well? Obi and maybe Kwankwaso falls into this category, Tinubu is pigheaded and Atiku is also very stubborn as well,Atiku seem like he can ask but he comes off as authoritative, in this scenario,Tinubu is worst, it must be his way

4. Who is around your leader: This also is very important, while you govern, you influences your decision? Who will be your ministers and co, Obi in this case seem to have more brilliant people around him,l who are ready to work, I don’t see the other three top candidates maybe Kwankwaso slightly having a lot of brilliance around him too,Atiku and Tinubu have the worst set of people you can imagine.Forget the candidates for a moment and watch those around them, those money hawks all over, Dino could be minister, what exactly does he do? Then look at Tinubu as well, most positions will be distributed to those who help them win elections not minding the skill needed. We honestly don’t need that.

5. A leader should decisive: Here, I see Atiku being too decisive when faced with very difficult situation which would not need any negotiation at all and I believe he has a huge edge in my analysis, Obi and Kwankwaso comes close as well,I don’t see Obi too heavy when it comes to taking very strong decisions,he will likely want to bargain,Tinubu will play politics with such decisions and won’t care what the out will be.

6.A leader should be less corrupt: This is the biggest and I saved it for the last,In my opinion, we can’t compare Obi to other candidates at all, think about this, you were a governor for 8 years, You assigned no land to yourself, assigned none to family and friends, built and revamped the state, saved for the upcoming administration and when you left, you told the state not to pay you a dime because your mission is complete, you only came to serve and you are done, till date, you’ve not been paid anything because you rejected them and you also have asked everyone to find anywhere they could that you embezzled or mismanaged the state fund and till date,no single person could bring a thing, the current governor of your state is sitting on top of the books and could easily fish out something but he can’t, what does that tell you? This Obi is honest, I don’t think I’ll ever ask not to be paid pensions for serving a state,I won’t do so.
People spoke of pandora papaers and he told them to go there and check if he ever place a dime in there while he was governor,he said he folded his business and placed it in a thrust after he became governor and that was listen in pandora papers,he has asked people to go search and if they could see 3 percent of the money they are speaking about, they should confiscate it. Till date, the heavy weight politicians can find anything.
Should we discuss corruption with Tinubu and Atiku? Even Kwankwaso have one of the most inflated budgets while he was governor and left a large debt while leaving office. Obi left none, it is actually an insult to compare Obi with these top 3 in terms of corruption..

Finally, we don’t actually elect our leaders, delegates do because we can only pick from what they have presented to us, we have top 4 candidates and I believe Obi is the cokes close in terms of health, knowledge, leadership, making appointments, being empathetic, negotiating and not playing with the lives of Nigerians. He is also extremely accessible.

Remember, Igbo’s hate their politicians, they hate embarrassment and I can clearly see their huge support for Obi due to the believe they have on him, they already knew he won’t embarrass them.

Let’s Vote Obi,let’s give that dude a chance.

We can’t compare him with these top candidates, this is my honest opinion and I welcome any sort of accusation or counter complaints as well.

Thank you bro
Based on this in-depth, well articulated and objective analysis of yours, I cannot argue. Believe me, I am right here smiling at my phone screen because I just read an intelligent conversation. I wish we could have more of this depth of conversation across the country, people will be able to make wise decisions void of ethnic or religious bias (just like your post).

These are the kind of engagements I love to see on Nairaland. Thanks for the intellectual conversation and enlightenment once more. I might just reconsider my earlier stance. Cheers brother!

Thanks for your swift response.
But I have some concerns, I dont know a thing about French so I think Unilag French Diploma is out I guess.
From what I saw online BCS will take like 3years to be completed (correct me if I'm wrong).
Didn't quite see anything on the timeline for CIIN online. I'd appreciate it if you or anyone that knows about this can help.
I'd prefer courses that will take about a year or if possible less, because of the age disadvantage. Thanks.
You do not need a prior background in French to pursue the Unilag French Diploma course.
See @Saskatoonguy's post on this page
https://www.nairaland.com/6829885/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/380#120351765

BCS, ACCA, CIMA, CIIN, CIPM......are short courses. The information about taking 3 years to obtain them is wrong. People prepare for courses like CIIN and BCS in 2 weeks and pass, depending on your level of assimilation.

All the courses mentioned take about 9 months or less.

You may need to be mindful of where you source your information from, so you don't limit yourself with poor or half-baked information. Use the search tab on Nairaland to search for keywords like Unilag French, BCS, CIIN, CIMA etc and streamline the search to travel section using the drop-down menu below the search bar after clicking search. It will help you find relevant information from people who have explored this option and were kind enough to give updates. Cheers

This has to be the kindest reply I have seen on this forum. Thanks for showing us how replies should be.
Thanks Braine. On this journey, we need to encourage each other. I have also been shown a lot of kindness on this thread and I have gotten so much help through this forum. Someone on this thread offered anyone residing in Abuja free IELTS materials worth over 5GB. I reached out to him and we met at his office. We gisted for hours, my flash drive was damn slow in collecting from his PC and transferring to mine but he was extremely patient. He offered me refreshments and he even dropped me off on my way back. He is also in Canada now. God bless him.

Even you, my good friend, may have forgotten you were very helpful to me and provided great resources during my postgraduate journey at Unilag. Does ETPM ring a bell? I changed moniker thoughgrin

My brother, thanks for taking your time to admonish me. The problem is that I don't see a Messiah in any of the four top candidates. I don't want to opt for any lesser evil either. Buhari has taught me not to believe in political Messiahs. I don't think Osinbajo is a Messiah either, but having worked closely with him on a project post-covid, I am convinced he has the intellectual capacity to make a little difference.
Who are you voting for and why?

Hi Uche, been a while. I know how it feels. You were once on 490 until your IELTS expired and you have been struggling with it ever since. Someone here once testified about writing IELTS seven times before acing it. That person is in Canada today. You will not write it seven times but I can only urge you to follow the IELTS thread in the education section and reach out to people who have aced the test most recently for the study materials they used. You have been very consistent with your speaking, even hitting band 8 at some point. Focus more on your Reading and Listening, they seem to be your weakness. Brush up your writing too. I can't wait to hear you return with your success story. It's worth the effort. May God see you through.

Okay. Thank you for your response.

I will start the process now and make arrangements to write IELTS then.

My concern has been my age, which will make me lose points. I plan to make my wife the principal applicant, since I now know that she is qualified for 2 or more certificates (with AAT).

Please, find our details below. Does anyone see a more viable route, or have any advice?

*Husband:
Qualifications: Ph.D Geology 2022
MSc. Geology 2015
B.Sc. Geology 2010
Age: 37 years
Work experience: 3 years (Geologist)
IELTS: Not yet done

*Wife:
Qualifications: B.Sc. Local Govt. Studies 2017
AAT: 2016
ICAN: 2021
Age: 29 years
Work experience: 5 years (Accountant)
9 months (credit control)
IELTS: Not yet done

Thanks in anticipation for your advice.
If you both ace IELTS with 8.5,8.0,7.5,7.5 in LRSW respectively and your wife as PA, your CRS score is 477.

If your wife score the above in IELTS and you manage to score 8,7,7,7 in LRSW, your CRS remains the same and if you score 8,7,6.5,6.5 with your wife acing IELTS still, your CRS is 473.

Again, wife getting 8.5,8,7,7.5 and you also getting 8,7,7,7 will give you 474 and finally wife getting 8.5,8,7,7 and you 8,7,7,7 will bring you to 471.

Summary:
1. Wife must be PA because your score will drop to 450s with you as the PA even if you both ace IELTS.

2. Wife must strive to score a minimum of 8.5,8,7,7 in LRSW respectively to remain in the 470s. It is best to aim for 8.5,8,7.5,7.5 though to claim the maximum available points for language proficiency.

3. It is important that you complement your wife's effort by aiming for a minimum 8,7,7,7, so you can remain in the 470s.

4. No matter the outcome of your IELTS, please enter the pool as soon as your results are ready. You can remain in the pool while seeking ways to improve your score. Who knows? PNP might knock on your door.

5. Since your wife will be the PA and she already has 2 or more certificates, can you encourage her to take French classes? You also did not mention anything about siblings in Canada, so I assume you don't have. Pursuing French language proficiency should be a faster way for your wife to add points than pursuing a Master degree (which will not add more than 8-9 points since she already has 2 certificates).

6. Please do not be discouraged at any point. Whatever sacrifice you make will be worth it at the end. Wishing you Godspeed and success in your journey starting from your IELTS.

7. Most importantly, please peruse page 1 diligently. It's the foundation of the knowledge most of us have as regards to this journey.

Cheers Doc.

There's nothing to be bitter about. Maybe you are a bitter person. Work on your assumptions. He start yawa with me, for pointing out that he is kinda encouraging other hopefuls to believe in his aloofness, while he himself don't have no experience in his new location.

He may have a solid foundation on finances or through people that can support him in this early stages, but if not, the first 2 or more years are very crucial, these are the fold your sleeves times; he doesn't have experience yet, he will need to be more attentive to his new realities on ground. I don't mean to derail the thread; I respect his journey. But I will remind other nigerians who travel for hustle, there are no mansions in the sky, if you have the chance, try to adjust to your new environment, manage your anxiety, study your city including laws, have a goal (s), have fun, educate yourself, and stay out of crime.

Guy abeg shift. I don't care for your delusioned thread. That is the only reason why I respond, to let people know that when you travel without a correct support, they shouldn't be aloof like you. That is the time you have to kick in to a higher mental gear, or else you might learn the hard way. Be prepared, you emotional wreck. You will need every bit of it.

As for me, your going to America in December 2022, and acting like you are doing anything big or acting like you have arrived, is alarmingly mumuish to me. You neva see anything yet, but you wan dey underrate the challenges. Focus on getting yourself straight with your paperwork. know your environment. E go soon choke u, u go go thief. future criminal.
