What's stopping blacks from getting the cure ? Western governments spend billions of dollars yearly in research even for diseases that don't concern them. US, Canada, China and Russia have been researching Ebola even when there was no aparent threath. How many biosecurity and research labs do we have in Nigeria? You think they have two heads ? Many Africans are working in these labs abroad. How much did Buhari map out for hiv research this year? When are we going to stop being on the begging side. Even small money allocated for research in Nigeria will be squandered. No one wants to do anything for posterity sake. We're our own undoing |
somadinho10:It's the same. That many people upvoted you shows how warped their thinking are. |
They didn't mention Nigeria on that thread |
OriginalKogiboy:You obviously don't understand how these things work. This is for highly skilled positions. No sane person will employ relative or friend, eg , to write a functional program for him in Python. Hope you get the gist. Besides, most of these companies are foreign - They don't think the way we think. You made a point. However responsive design will still remain for a long time because of ease of deployment. Writing a separate code for mobile will remain for big players. Most important thing is your audience - so far they are satisfied |
People don't know the meaning of stabilize. Just last week, the news was that oil prices stabilizedat $65. Oil price hardly stabilize |

Go to nairaland business section and peruse a little, you will see our youths clicking on links like : 1. Make millions from N150 . They will be dropping their numbers and email in abandonment. I have joined foreign forums. They hardly click on comment on such threads. Could this be the reason most of our youths remain perpetually poor ? Most that make money are usually through scam. I don't want anyone to start blaming government for this. It's disheartening to see our young men becoming more interested in get rich quick schemes. No one wants to work or take time build anything |
By coming here , I presume you already know what dropshipping is . For Nigerians hoping to dropship internationally (US/Europe), they are limited to using two options: 1. Create your own store using e.g Woocommerce or Magento 2. Using hosted eCommerce platforms e.g Shopify or BigCommerce The most limiting problem is Payment Gateway that would allow Nigerians transact internationally. As a Shopify Partner - I checked payment gateways available to Nigeria , and this is what I found : 1. CashEnvoy 2. Paystack 3. Rave by Flutterwave https://i2.wp.com/naijanative.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/shopify.jpg?w=463&ssl=1 These are the only three payment accepted for Nigerian merchants. Paystack only supports stores domiciled in naira, even if they activate international payments for you. I haven't contacted CashEnvoy , but they seem to accept naira payments only from their website. This brings us to Rave by Flutterwave. (Disclaimer: I do not work with them) The signup was easy . I registered a Business Account with them. When I inquired about international payments . I got to find out that they support foreign currency transactions but it comes with a caveat. You will only be activated for international transactions after six months of doing business with them. https://i1.wp.com/naijanative.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/rave.jpg?resize=600%2C305&ssl=1 So here are a few advice if you want to dropship internationally : 1. Do not use PayPal if you live in Nigeria. Paypal will restrict your account and hold your funds for six moths. These are your customer's money ! 2. Do not pay for any back door tutorial - let those selling the tutorial continue making their thousands of dollars dropshiping. To be frank, they are just making money selling those crap to you. 3. International Dropshipping is not for beginners . You need cash to do it. Anyone that tells you that you don't need capital is not being truthful. Most gateways do not release any money to you immediately after customer pays. Don't hope on using customers money to purchase their goods. Flutterwave releases after 14 days for international transaction. This means that if you have $3000 worth of orders in a week, you need to ship with your money to customers first. The only advantage is that you know the money is coming back to you. If you must dropship legally from Nigeria , then do this: 1. Register with a Business Account with a payment gateway like Flutterwave . (You need a Registered Company to do this) 2. Open an online store either with Woocommerce or Shopify - each of the options have their merits - depends on you. 3. Start selling stuff with your account in Nigeria. Sell anything eg clothing, services , etc. You can easily liaise with a courier service to deliver for you. There are many of them. Market your products using Facebook or Eleavers. After six months, apply for international payment activation . Once you get it, you can now use it for your drop shipping . 4. If you want to dropship internationally, I advice you use Shopify/Orbelo app. You will seamlessly sync your shopify store with aliexpress in almost auto mode. You can use Woocommerce - but you may pay higher for hosting when you start getting traffic. Basic hosting won't be enough. Finally , if you are a beginner, why not try your hand in freelancing, affiliate marketing etc. You may need to hone your digital skills to succeed. If you need help with Woocommerce or Shopify, let me know. As a shopify partner, I can create demo stores for you which can go live when you want to launch. In future tutorial, I will let you know how to setup your online store with just N2000. Yes N2000 all for free. No eBook, no drop your number or email. Let me know if you have any questions. |

I have seen a lot of people asking how to key in into affiliate marketing. Most posts on this require you registering for one training or another. We are going to look at how to start affiliate marketing absolutely free. What is affiliate marketing ? It is simply marketing someone's product or services online and get paid commission. It is a kind of referral program. It is similar to house agent work. Get tenants for landlord. Landlord pays you 5% for your effort - as simple as that. Difference is that you now have to do it in online world. Just as a physical house agent puts effort to get tenants so you should in online world. Nothing is free ! You must work to earn ! https://i2.wp.com/naijanative.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/affiliate-diagram-3.png?w=684 How does it work ? In online world, its a bit different. Landlord will now be online merchants like Jumia, Travelstart, any online business that has affiliate program. You the affiliate marketer is the Agent , that would refer customers to their site How does the merchant know you referred a customer ? When you signup with a merchant , they give you tools to generate a special tracking code (url) unique to you. Once a buyer clicks on the code and makes a purchase, the merchant will trace back the code to you and pay you. Here are the Steps to start up: 1. Sign up with the merchant you want to promote their products or services 2. Get a special affiliate link 3. You promote these links Please if you interested , I want you to indicate and also ask questions . It helps me know that people are benefiting. The human rights group is calling for a criminal investigation of the oil giant. By Antonia Blumberg Amnesty International is accusing oil giant Shell of complicity in human rights violations carried out by the Nigerian military in the 1990s. In an 89-page report published Tuesday, Amnesty called for a criminal investigation of Shell after reviewing thousands of company documents and statements from witnesses. The documents demonstrate, Amnesty alleged, that Shell aided a Nigerian military campaign to silence protesters who sought to bring attention to the the effects of pollution in the oil-rich Ogoniland region. Among the allegations in the report are claims that Shell operated a team of undercover police officers who were trained by Nigeria’s state security service. The unit was allegedly tasked with conducting surveillance on Ogoni activists resisting the exploitation of their land by corporate interests. The report also asserts that Shell provided “logistical support” to the country’s military, which was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Ogoni people in the early 1990s. The internal company documents, which HuffPost also reviewed, appear to show that Shell paid an “honorarium” as a “show of gratitude” to a military commander whose troops had engaged in a “bloody clash” with villagers several months prior. CHRIS HONDROS VIA GETTY IMAGES A Shell owned pumping site in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria is shown March 27, 2001. “The evidence we have reviewed shows that Shell repeatedly encouraged the Nigerian military to deal with community protests, even when it knew the horrors this would lead to – unlawful killings, rape, torture, the burning of villages,” Audrey Gaughran, Amnesty’s director of global issues, said in a statement. “In the midst of this brutal crackdown Shell even provided the military with material support, including transport,” she continued, adding “and in at least one instance paid a military commander notorious for human rights violations.” Shell has categorically denied the allegations. Activists from the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP), a group spearheaded by Nigerian author and activist Ken Saro-Wiwa, had been lobbying the government for several years to grant Ogoniland political and economic autonomy. Their campaign lead Shell to announce in 1993 that it was ending operations in Ogoniland, citing security concerns, but the company ultimately moved forward with plans to build a new pipeline through the region. Ensuing protests gave rise to a brutal crackdown by Nigeria’s military police, which, according to Amnesty’s report, included raids on Ogoni villages, torture and rape of Ogoni men and women, as well as the killings of roughly 1,000 people. In 1995, Saro-Wiwa and eight other Ogoni activists were hanged following an internationally discredited trial, which led to Nigeria’s suspension from the Commonwealth. In 2009, Shell agreed to pay a $15.5 million settlement after being accused of collaborating in the executions. Subscribe to The Morning Email. Amnesty alleged that Shell was aware of the military’s human rights violations in the 1990s and that a former regional head of security for the company had even provided information to the country’s internal security agency that aided in the crackdown. Gaughran said Amnesty was “preparing a criminal file to submit to the relevant authorities, with a view to prosecution.” Shell did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But in a statement sent to The Guardian, a representative for the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Ltd (SPDC) said the company strongly denied the allegations. “The executions of Ken Saro-Wiwa and his fellow Ogonis in 1995 were tragic events that were carried out by the military government in power at the time,” the spokesperson said. “We were shocked and saddened when we heard the news. Shell appealed to the Nigerian government to grant clemency. To our deep regret, that appeal, and the appeals made by many others … went unheard.” The representative pointed to Shell’s company values of “honesty, integrity and respect for people” and called Amnesty’s claims “false and without merit.” “SPDC did not collude with the authorities to suppress community unrest and in no way encouraged or advocated any act of violence in Nigeria,” the representative added. “We believe that the evidence will show clearly that Shell was not responsible for these tragic events.” MOSOP, the Ogoni activist group, continues to have a presence in Ogoniland, which has experienced numerous oil spills over the years resulting in negative impacts on residents’ health and livelihoods. According to the local Nigerian news site, the Daily Post, the organization gave the federal government an ultimatum earlier this month, saying if it didn’t initiate a clean up of the region it would “face the anger of the people.” https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/amnesty-shell-nigeria_us_5a1db128e4b06a14100a940a?ncid=edlinkushpmg00000313 https://www.yahoo.com/news/amnesty-accuses-shell-complicity-killings-232135518.html

Flat Earth Theorist To Launch Home-Made Rocket Today Posted on November 25, 2017 Author Chinonso Mbadihe Comment(0) mad mike rocket “Mad” Mike Hughes is set to launch his home-made rocket today to prove that the earth is flat. Flat earth theorist believe that there is a conspiracy theory by mainstream science to deceive the people that the earth is flat. “I don’t believe in science,” he told The Associated Press. “I know about aerodynamics and fluid dynamics and how things move through the air, about the certain size of rocket nozzles, and thrust. But that’s not science, that’s just a formula. There’s no difference between science and science fiction.” His latest rocket is built with scrap metal and a stripped down motor home for the ramp. It cost him about $20, 000 and powered by steam. He expects to 1.6 kilometers up from where he hopes to take pictures to prove that the earth is flat . The launch is expected to take place at Mojave Desert, subjected to speeds of up to 800 kilometers per hour (500 miles per hour) according to IFL website. This is not the first time he is building a rocket and attempting to photograph a supposedly flat earth. When Hughes launched in 2014, the intense gravitational forces and what looked like a parachute with holes injured him quite badly; he needed three days to recover. His latest attempt will take place this Saturday 25th November 2017. It is scheduled 2-3pm local time. http://naijanative.com/flat-earth-theorist-launch-rocket/ cc lalasticlala mynd44
