A few weeks ago, some subscribers started noticing the presence of Airtel 4G LTE on their devices and now, it is live in some part of Ogun, Lagos and Ibadan. Hopefully it would be rolled out to other states soon.
What is Airtel ‘ s 4G Band?
Airtel is runs on Band 3 ( 1800MHz ) which is compatible with almost all 4G enabled smartphones
Here’s the result of Airtel’s 4G Speedtest in Ibadan, the download speed was 28.45 Mbps and upload was 8.77 Mbps.
https://alltech.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Airtelspeedtest.jpg
How To Activate It
Walk in to any airtel office closest to you with your current Airtel SIM and request for a sim swap. After the sim swap, if the network is live in your location , your 4G should be up and running.
You can run a check if Airtel 4G is visible in your location and let me know. Go to your phone settings – Mobile networks – Network operators –Search networks .
Tap Search networks to initiate a search. After a short period, a list of available networks will be presented to you.
I’ve also reached out to Airtel for comments on this.

When it comes to cloning devices, I'll always give Chinese manufacturers a 5 star rating. This time Oukitel put a notch on its U18 smartphone making it look like a perfect clone of the iPhone X.
Check out the comparison between the iPhone X and Oukitel U18
If you think the copying would have ended there but it didn't , they also copied the lower edge of the Galaxy S8 – and even the Samsung icons – so the screen still does not occupy as much space as possible on the front.
The “ultrawide” screen has a 21:9 ratio, used in CinemaScope or anamorphic movies. However, most of the content available for mobile phones are formatted at 16:9.
The 5.85-inch screen has a resolution of only 1512 x 720 makes it perfect for watching HD videos.
Coming to the specs, the Oukitel U18 has a MediaTek MT6750T processor, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal storage coupled with an expandable storage, and a 4000mAh battery. There is also a fingerprint reader at the back.
It has a dual rear camera with 16 and 5-megapixel sensors made by Sony. Meanwhile, the front camera has 13-megapixel. It also comes with something I'd call a gimmicky “Face ID” feature, which is just the same facial recognition built into Android since the Ice Cream Sandwich – and that can be fooled by a photo as well.
Oukitel is selling this device in limited edition. It will produce 999 units, which will cost US $160.

Phones › See The List Of Samsung Phones That'll Get Android 8.0 Update by NaijaTechGuy(op): 9:50am On Feb 12, 2018 |
Android 8.0 Oreo was announced in August 2017. Since then, many smartphone manufacturers have confirmed which devices that will receive the Oreo Update. Companies like OnePlus and Nokia have started to actually roll out the update. I also got information that the Infinix Note 4 has also received an update to Oreo
Although South Korean Giant, Samsung is yet to confirm which devices will receive the Oreo update, recently a couple of XML resources with details of the hardware of several Samsung smartphones just surfaced online.
The XML file shared some details regarding which Galaxy devices are about to receive the Android Oreo Update. The XML files are named after the codenames of Samsung Galaxy Devices and they are expected to be tested for Android Oreo Update.
Well, it’s worth to note that these XML files are not a solid proof that these Galaxy devices will receive the Android Oreo update. So, I'd suggest you take this with a pinch of Salt. Samsung Smartphones which might get Android 8.0 Oreo update are:
Samsung Galaxy A3 2017, Galaxy A5 2017, Galaxy A7 2017, Galaxy A8 2016 SM-A810, Galaxy A8 2018, Galaxy A8+ 2018, Galaxy J3 2017, Galaxy J5 2017, Galaxy J7 2017, Galaxy J7+, Galaxy J7 Duos 2017, Galaxy J7 Max, Galaxy J7 Neo, Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy Note FE, Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S8 Active, Galaxy S8, and Galaxy S8+
The same XML files also shared the list of Samsung tablets that are expected to get the Android Oreo update:
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM-T355, Galaxy Tab A 8.0 SM-T380/T385 2017, Galaxy Tab A 10.1 SM-T580, Galaxy Tab Active 2, Galaxy Tab E 8.0, and Galaxy Tab S3 SM-T825
Android Oreo update brings lots of new features to users like Notification Channels, Picture-in-Picture mode, a new set of emojis. There's also a new Night Mode feature. |

Nutase: the problem with your story is that you said its your friends account and you are his advocate. 3rd party stories always have jara. Secondly, You omitted a lot of facts. Who, when, where and how was the money paid into the account? Any evidence of the payment?? Thirdly, NL cannot resolve your problem GTBank is a tech savvy bank. Your friend can report this issue to the HO on there website or app if he has a genuine case and I'm sure this issue will be resolved in minutes.
My two cents. Nothing was added to the story. He actually transferred the money from his UBA account I've asked him to go and print out the statement tomorrow and will give you guys feedback tomorrow |

Greatzeus: If he goes to Twitter what will happen? All those tribal whipped idiot who drag GtBank on Twitter and claiming they have closed down their GtBank Account so that GTBank will crash, where are they? GtBank I believe has the highest number of braches in Nigeria, this guy visited a branch,he wasn't satisfied with their service, and here is a supposedly educated person advising him to go to Twitter to drag a multi billion dollar investment,a PLC that has a name, Goodwill and customers to loose if they act unprofessionally. @ Op you are so ignorant, what would GtBank do with your 100k. Your stupidity might have cost you your money, probably someone who has access to your details withdrew it. If not, request for your statement, for the month the deposit was made, and when it disappeared simple. Only two scenario will suffice here: Such money was never deposited in your Account The money was deposited but has been withdrawn by someone who has access to your ATM and Pin. Did you check the post. I'm pretty sure of it was your school fees that was being played with you won't respond like this. GTBank will necessarily not need 100k it's too small for them as a bank but they have to treat customers right and there's a possibility there staff have been toying with customers account. What would warrant them to walk a student that has been using their bank since September out of their office and claim that no transaction has been made on the account since it was created. |

I'm actually writing this post on behalf of a friend of mine. The boy is currently frustrated because GTBank Has Allegedly Refused To Release His School Fees. Here's his story. On the third week of December - N121,000 was paid into my account 0254819523 (AZODO GODSPOWER) for the school fees of my roommate who just got Admission into the University Of Port Harcourt.
On the second week of January, I went to the ATM at their Branch in Location, Mgbuoba to withdraw but I got an error message that I should go to the bank and verify issues with my account. I went into the bank and they told me that I needed to upgrade my account with a national ID card in order to have access to the money.
I immediately came back to school and registered for the national ID card at Choba. I was asked to come and pick it up the temporary ID card at Rumuosi in the next two weeks .
I went and got the national ID card after two weeks had elapsed. I went to the bank today with the national ID CARD and went straight to the customer service.
I patiently waited in the queue until it got to my turn. When it got to my turn ,they sent me to the marketing department to fill a form of almost 3 pages. I went back to the customer service and gave them back the form with the ID card.
After some minutes , they said that I should go and withdraw with the withdrawal slip since my ATM Card is not functioning. The customer service also confirmed that there was money in the account and they said that I can only withdraw N105,000.
I went to withdraw from the cashier and the lady there said there was no money in the account. I thought she was joking, I told her that I had money in my account , she replied that there was no money in the account and that all I had was N0.00 in the account. She accused me of coming to steal and threw my card and withdrawal slip away.
They said that there has been no transaction on the account. This is an account I have been using since September. I requested to see the manager and GTBANK Staff walked me out of their bank with their security with the reason that I was disturbing staff and customers.
The school fees deadline is on Friday and my roommate is risking losing his admission because he has not paid his school fees.
I was accused of being a thief and walked out of the bank for an account I have been using since September. I was embarrassed in public and harassed simply because I'm a student. I had to borrow money to find transport money to go back to school.
I could have shown them the debit alert but I recently flashed my phone and lost all the messages. This is simply a display of unprofessionalism within the Staff of GTBANK . This isn't the first time GTBANK is toying with customers money. Something has to be done. Modified The issue has been resolved. The Manager Contacted Him this morning and his money is to be returned tomorrow |

TechEnthusiast: Whatever, you don't have to be a geek or some techy guy to understand how things work.Telegrams user interface is cooler than that of WhatsApp.So I don't know what would make a "common man" misunderstand it. So called "naijatechguy".I already mentioned that I don't care what you think, everyone is entitled to his opinion. We don't necessarily have to know how apps work before we criticise them.Criticism is different from complaint. You can stay off the thread if you'll just keep accusing others of complaining. How is it logically reasonable criticize something you don't know how it fully works. I see you've finally agreed that everyone is entitled to his opinion in the same vein, I also don't care about what you think. |
Phones › Re: [opinion] Whatsapp Is The Worst: 8 Reasons You Should Ditch It by NaijaTechGuy(m): 2:37am On Feb 02, 2018 |
TechEnthusiast: He would not shut up.Just because we aren't capable of producing what we need/use doesn't mean we cannot criticise it.Nobody cares about what you think. You don't even deserve the "naijatechguy" name.
People like you are nothing but techguys by name.Is it only userbase that matters? Popularity doesn't matter.Even if he creates his own as you said, you would still find a reason to shut him out... As a Tech Enthusiast you claim you are, you don't know that the userbase of any social network determines the features that may be integrated. Whatsapp experiences outages once in a while due to excessive server load. Now you're suggesting whatsapp adds a feature that will invariably cause more outages and make them probably lose users. You're the kind of person that'll make updates to a software that ain't broken to make it worse. Have you even compared the data usage between whatsapp and telegram? So called enthusiast. Better stay off my mentions if you don't have reasonable points. Wail all you want. The last time I checked, there's never been an award or statue made in honor of critics. Go and make your own and stop complaining. Let me give you a tip, WhatsApp was programmed with a little bit of React JS, maybe when you start learning how apps work you can start mentioning me. The most important thing you don't know is that you should never make your points based on the views of only techies. WhatApp was made for everyone. The common man would understand and easily use whatsapp without having issues. With all the channels, telegram gets a bit rowdy sometimes. I could keep explaining but there's no need. Since you obviously chose a wrong name. Tech Enthusiast indeed |
