I know I called the iPhone X an overrated piece of metal but let's call a spade a spade, this phone was certainly one of the trending smartphones this year but that still doesn't change how I feel about the metal phone,

The first thing that strikes you about the design is the 5.8-inch AMOLED display. It's stunning nevertheless.
Aside from the screen you've got Apple's impressive A11 Bionic processor, a fantastic dual camera with portrait lighting mode, and FaceID (which has been imperfect right from the launch). However the iPhone X costs a considerable £999 which is quite expensive.

Apple is slowly morphing into a luxury goods company and I hope they do not end up like Vertu

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is the latest flagship from the Chinese smartphone giant, and I really, really like it. It's an ideal smartphone if you need a powerhouse for business, but it's also got a lot of features which make it great as a personal device as well.

I love the Mate 10 Pro's Leica-branded dual camera, which can capture high quality images, and the OS is coming on leaps and bounds as well.
One of the best features packed into this powerhouse is the mobile-PC experience when you hook it to an external display. It only needs a USB-C to HDMI cable, rather than a powered dock, making it more portable more useful.

But it's not very perfect though, The UI still lags a little bit behind its competitors, as does the camera. While we love the design, it's a little more generic than the likes of Samsung and Google.Despite its flaws, you'll definitely enjoy using it thanks to a neat blend of design and features. Plus, the battery life is amazing.

I still remember LG's gimmicky G5 smartphone with it's unimpressive design. I couldn't help but pity LG. They tried so hard.This time LG has finally decided made a good-looking, premium smartphone free from gimmicks. There are a lot of features I love here - that wide-angle screen is great, the bezels are tiny, and the dual-camera is really handy.But it’s still far from a perfect phone. LG used a 2016 chipset, so it’s not the most efficient smartphone available, and the custom UI running over Android Nougat isn't the best out there. It also feels less premium than its rivals.Certainly, LG has done enough to redeem itself from the unfortunately unsuccessful G5 last year. It’s not the best Android phone released in 2017, but I don’t think you’ll regret buying it, especially if you can pick it up for a decent price.

The Honor 9 is a really good smartphone, it also has a solid design, decent camera, and high-end specs.There are a lot of neat touches, too, I like the single navigation key, and the dual camera is capable of taking some striking images.

The Honor 9 is 100% solid in every key respect, although, it may lack that little bit of innovation which makes a phone an amazing Android flagship.

The Moto Z2 Force is designed to be sleek and sophisticated, as well as durable with the ability to survive a beating( I didn't say you should strike it with a baseball bat to test it). That's mainly down to the screen, which features a thick, toughened outer layer which won't break - no matter how hard you try (logically).

The casing is also quite rugged, with a strong aluminium skeleton, the Moto Z2 Force doesn't look like it belongs in a workman's tool box but it's definitely a solid phone. The specs are up there with every other device on this list, and the ecosystem of the Moto Mods is impressive too.





11. LENOVO P2

The Lenovo P2 doesn't look pretty, there's no a sexy bezel-less display, and it doesn't have an amazing camera unfortunately. I added it to this list because of the battery life.

It does have one the best battery life compared to any phone on this list. If all you care about is battery life, this smartphone is definitely for you, but Lenovo also did good job elsewhere, as well, with a decent metal build, great display, and solid UI design. All in a pretty affordable package.

Our smartphones have turned to our ultimate companions. These little battery powered machines can disconnect us from reality with just the touch of a button.


It’s either you get carried away watching a movie, scrolling through your Facebook news feed, sending savage tweet replies and of course trolling once in a while. If doctors could check our heartbeat the moment we feel our pockets and our smartphones are not there, I’m pretty sure they’ll discover a new set of electronic impulses.

I’ll be honest, my smartphone is my very good companion and unfortunately it actually turned me into an unapologetic introvert .

I’m sure there are a lot of people out there like me that find it easier to text rather than have a normal decent conversation. We all suffer from a common psychological disease – ‘’Nomophobia’’ – the fear of not being with our smartphones.

Most times I try to ask myself a few questions and take some time to picture it in my mind. I think you ought to try it out. Ask yourself these 2 questions

What If Everything I See Today Is Just A Dream?

What If Life Is Just a Script and I will wake up to a totally different reality?


Imagine you dropped your phone on the table and woke up the next morning and you see a vintage telephone instead of your smartphone and the calendar in your room shows you the year 1975. You walk out of your room and your mum tells you that you were in a coma for so long. I’m sure you would wonder if you were in an apocalypse for years.

Slowly it dawns on you that your beloved smartphone won’t be anywhere around you because at the year you woke up it doesn’t exist. You would certainly question the reason for your existence. I’m cocksure you won’t find it easy to adapt to a lifestyle without a smartphone.

Instead of using Google you would need to use a library, instead of taking selfies you would pose for a normal black/white photo, instead of reading online gossip on LindaIkejisBlog you would read newspapers. Life would seem so boring without your smartphone when in fact life is actually fun without it at times

We have gotten so addicted to these smartphones and most of us cannot live without it. I’ve noticed an interesting trend lately when someone brings up something they recently did. “I just got bought a new Car,” they say. If I say, “Yeah, I saw it on Facebook,” then that topic is done. They think 40 characters or a photo is worth a thousand words. But if I say, “You did? That’s awesome!”, then the other person actually tells me about their experience. And the story is better than the status every single time.

I’ve gone to events where people who haven’t seen in each other in years sat around a table and simply looked at their phones. I’ve had evenings ruined because people are looking for the next cooler thing online instead of making their own nights better. I’ve had my view at a concert blocked by a cell phone as someone recorded it instead of lived it. Who even watches those dark, tinny-sounding videos anyway?

Don’t misunderstand me. I’m not trying to say smartphones are bad. All I’m asking you is not to allow it ruin beautiful moments.

I’d say life without smartphones is actually liberating. I gave myself some time off last month. I dropped my smartphone and exchanged it for a smaller one and I discovered one amazing thing. I could sleep early, not miss important appointments, engage in longer conversations, make new friends and of course focus more on my own life.

I had to switch back to my smartphone after a week because I’m a blogger and I can’t totally disconnect from the internet for a month but ever since then I always take breaks. I may take 2-3 days off and I still have 4-5 more days to work online.

All that constant scrolling on Facebook and Instagram would get you depressed. You’ll keep wondering why your friend’s life seems so much better than yours and you start feeling insecure, jealous and depressed forgetting that people share only the best parts of their lives on social media.

Take some time off to disconnect. Enjoy life to the fullest . Live, Laugh, Smile and Love.

Here's how to calibrate it with the app - Place it on a flat surface and connect it to your phone and launch the app. Turn on the drone, go to settings (gear icon) and select calibration. ( it's the last icon on the settings menu). When you do this, the drone's front and rear LED lights would blink continuously for about 7-10 seconds. Once it's done calibrating your drone is ready to fly. I'll check for the fix for the controller

I must say that I'm really happy that the data cap on your data plans were increased and we all are quite grateful for that. I also want to thank you for all the bonuses and promos (at least that is what is keeping some of us from porting) .However, with all due respect your data services in most areas are very slow and nothing to write home about. Around my area, It's quite slow and the only place I get to see a full 3G connection is in the toilet and I keep wondering why it has to be the toilet of all places.


Sometimes, when the network speed seems to improve, it would drop drastically in a few minutes .It seems Glo officials in Nigeria have started using other networks to surf the web because the current download speed is enough to wait for the second coming of Christ. I'm sure other subscribers would have their own unfortunate tales to tell about your data services. Most of us don't even use up to half of the plans we paid for before it expires. The network speed is very frustrating. Imagine taking over 25 minutes to download a file of 40MB. I'm actually wondering if the money meant for improving your network's services are being used for entertainment shows instead.


I heard 9Mobile is being sold and you're listed as one of the top 10 companies that want to buy the company. On behalf of other subscribers, Please try to make the deal successful because we all certainly hope it would improve your services nationwide and please don't allow 9mobile's spamming influence your network.

Almost every USSD code dialed on 9mobile returns results as an SMS, please don't impose it on us as we will not hesitate to port. The second thing I believe majority of my fellow subscribers strongly kick against is the fact that you keep calling us with strange numbers every day. You call us more than husbands call their spouses and more than boyfriends call their girlfriends and we wonder if we are actually dating you. It is really annoying and the most painful part of the whole thing is when someone is expecting an important call then you start calling us.


I know some people activated DnD (Do not Disturb) Mode on their respective lines but now you have resorted to calling us as the only way to reach us. I won't say this particular problem is not on all networks but no day on planet earth passes by without any subscriber receiving more than 3 calls from you guys. One day, I was expecting a very important call and my phone was plugged my room and i almost tripped rushing to answer the call only to hear a robot talking to me. I was utterly disgusted.

I'm still trying to understand what type of advertising that is because to the best of my knowledge, an average Nigerian would not spend time listening to a computer on the phone yet you won't put an end to the calls. Believe me, the only time subscribers can really listen to all that computer talk is when we have actually called the customer care line to rectify a problem. We pay you for the services offered to us and we deserve at least a simple code to opt out from all the calls. The ads we see on billboards, social media and on the television is enough for all of us. On behalf of all Glo subscribers, I sincerely ask that you fix these issues .


We do hope you redeem your name from ''Slow With Pride'' and ''Grand Snail Of Data'' to ''Glo with Pride'' , Unlimited or rather as ''The Grand Masters Of Data'' as you call yourself. Forgive my rant , I'm just a frustrated subscriber who wants a better network
