It is not right to hit a woman at all. I regard any man doing that as highly irresponsible. No matter the provocation, the man must not hit the woman. The woman is the weaker sex, remember. What if in the process of hiting the woman she dies what happens? I know of men who rather than hit a woman would go out to avoid hiting her. God made man the head of the home. When man learns to play his role well, no woman will provoke him. The woman loves & respects a man who can take care of her & her kids. But where the reverse is the case, the woman reacts. And why should the man hit her for that? Even where a woman is wrong, it is just not right for a man to hit a woman.

What a sad news. I pray all is well with the baby. We can do a lot for the baby by praying for his protection, & at the same time praying for his recovery. May God protect the baby & help the family to recover him in Jesus' Name, Amen.

That MIL would have over-stepped her boundaries. She should not do such a thing without consulting with, & approval from both her daughter & the husband. I dont think people can just take laws into their hands & do that. If anyone does that, it will be really very unfortunate, & will certainly incure wrath.

@poster, the fact that you want to please your husband's family shows you are a nice person. Just keep up the good work & remain very friendly. I advise you continue to give gifts. That way nobody can have any cause to critise you. And continue to please your husband's mother & all who are friendly. On the long run the sisters will retrace their steps & be friendly. The most important thing is that your husband loves you. I want to add that with prayers, your husband's sisters will soon come flocking around you. Good luck.

What an awkward situation! Since the parents of the love birds are into a relationship, should they get married, the love birds become step siblings. In some parts of the Country, tradition forbids that the younger couple get married, as well as their parents getting married. So should all 4 decide to get married, & that does not contradict their tradition, they can go ahead. But I for one do not support both young & older couple getting married. The older ones should give room to the younger ones. Afterall they have lived their own life. They can always get another companion. Their getting married will no doubt distabilize the relationship of their children. And should that happen they will hold themselves responsible for that all their lives.

I love fruits generally. I hear Carrot is a good cure for Cancer (early stage I believe). Its quiet cheap presently.

Agreed some women do a lot of nagging, etc. that make their husband stay away from home. But no matter the problem, the man & woman must try to work out things, especially when it seems to be getting out of control. Shying away from problems & leaving them unsolved spells doom for that marriage. Where kids are involved the couple must try extra hard to make their marriage work, at least for the sake of their kids. Trying to apportion blame at this stage will only prolong the cold war & aggravate the situation.

@poster, please ask your friend to go with his family to his wife's family to report the matter, so they can call their daughter to order. If his wife refuses to come home then he should move on with his life. The only other thing he will need to do is to try getting his child back. But this will take a very long time to accomplish as the child needs the mother, now & will need her for quiet some time. I wish your friend all the best.

A big man steals he is congratulated & given minimum jail sentense. A small man steals as little as N1,000 he is given the beating of his life first, he stays in police custody without trial for a long time, before he eventually faces trial, & serves punishment. Its very very unfair. And now Igbinedion's dad is trying to lobby to make his son's punishment as light as possible. Of course should his son find himself in another position, he will steal even more. Afterall Papa will always come to his rescue. He forgets that his Creator will judge him for all he is doing, & that even his Papa will equally be judged. Intercession for him on that day of judgement will be completely ruled out as both will be punished.

That chairman is a big disgrace & he should be severely punished for what he has done. That should serve as deterrent to others like him.
