@poster, if your friend truly loves and wants to marry this girl, he should stick to the plan. The girl is still schooling. When she graduates, she will get a job and assist. That is not to say he should spend all his earnings on her family. He should assist the girl's family, where possible. Where he is not able to, I believe the girl and her family will understand, especially since he is doing all he can to assist them. He should not do anything that will make him regret in future. Above all, let him give the matter to God in prayers, he will be directed on what to do.

A relationship without trust is bound to fail. But again trust is supposed to be mutual; its a two-way thing. All the responses so far give the impression that women are not to be trusted, nothing said about men. Are we therefore saying that men are to be trusted even when they cheat? Some of them run after young girls their daughters' age. Couples should be able to trust themselves. Once that trust is not there, the relationship is over.

I wonder what will happen when you are married; you will go on a daily basis to ask for advice for one problem or the other? Remember you are leaving your family & will be united as man & wife. Your husband will be the head. If you want the marriage in June & he says November, as he wants an elaborate wedding, why not accept. You only need to ask your sister to re-schedule her visit to November. In marriage both man & woman must have to learn to work together harmoniously. Your husband should also learn to cooperate with you on certain issues so that harmony can be maintained. That attitude of either of you refusing to shift ground when trying to resolve an issue, only means you need to still work on yourselves before getting married. Know you are going into a lifelong relationship, & be determined to make it succeed. And lastly avoid inviting a third-party to help resolve your problems. This will create problems for your marriage. Good luck.

@ZIM DRILL & @ dayokanu, I dont support that a woman should hit a man & vice versa. Either way it is totally wrong. A woman who insist on constantly fighting with her husband will certainly incur his wrath. But where the husband is no match for her in terms of strength, I guess she is indirectly asking for divorce. There is no other way out of the impasse.

I say anytime after her first degree. Then she is ready for marriage as well should she take in mistakenly. But you have to advice her to be careful & really get to know very well whoever she decides to eventually marry first. The situation as it is, is already complicated. Taking sides therefore will only worsen matters. Assuming we are refering to step-mother here, the man, must make his kids & their step-mother believe he loves them all. He should tell his kids to respect their step-mother always. He should also appeal to their step-mother to be patient with them. If there is anything the step-mother is not doing right, the man should discuss that with her in the privacy of their room & correct her nicely. He has to handle things maturedly in order not to offend either party.

You can cook without onions & enjoy your meals. You have different spices in the market to garnish your soup & stew. Cooking without onions therefore is no big deal.
