Christianity Etc › Re: Why It Is Never Right For You To Pray That Your Enemies Fall And Die Today by nanzozo(m): 2:44pm On Mar 17, 2019 |
unstoppable51: From FeedMeJesus.com
A common practice in so many Nigerian and African churches in general, is the prayer of “my enemies fall and die!”
In case you are not familiar with this sort of prayer probably because you are reading this from outside the continent, “fall and die” prayers actually has to do with the “sending of Holy Ghost fire, earthquakes, thunder, rainfall etc to kill and destroy one’s enemies (mostly witches and wizards) and evil spirits.”
The prayer is often targeted at “wicked” uncles, aunts, neighbours, colleagues, mothers, fathers, herbalists, old men and women in villages who does not take pleasure in seeing other people succeed in life.
Sometimes it is also targeted at politicians, leaders and even business people who oppose the spread of the Gospel and “exchange people’s destinies” for money.
This type of prayer is seriously backed up with the belief that there are people who must die before you can ever be successful in life and so you need to pray for this to happen as soon as possible with all your strength. Like a wounded Lion, you must be very violent when praying these fall and die prayers.
The shocking thing is, the two most popular scriptures proponents of such prayers always put their feet on has little or nothing to do with their usage today. The first is Matt.11:12.
(Mat 11:12) And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.
Is this verse asking you to be violent in prayer and take your destiny by force? Well to understand what it is saying, let us read it from another translation.
From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it. Matt.11:12 NIV
The verse is simply saying from the time John the Baptist started preaching the kingdom of God has been forcefully advancing on the earth as men has by faith been taking hold of it. It has nothing to do with prayers, let alone violent ones.
The other scripture used to promote these “fall and die” prayers is the passage that describes how Elijah killed King Ahaziah’s soldiers by commanding physical fire to come out from nowhere and consume them.
(2Ki 1:9) Then the king sent to him a captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he went up to him where he was seated on the top of a hill, and said to him, O man of God, the king has said, Come down.
(2Ki 1:10) And Elijah in answer said to the captain of fifty, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. Then fire came down from heaven and put an end to him and his fifty men.
(2Ki 1:11) Then the king sent another captain of fifty with his fifty men; and he said to Elijah, O man of God, the king says, Come down quickly.
(2Ki 1:12) And Elijah in answer said, If I am a man of God, may fire come down from heaven on you and on your fifty men, and put an end to you. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and put an end to him and his fifty men.
What most people do not know is that although fire actually appeared and destroyed those soldiers, it wasn’t God’s best. God was never pleased with it. He is never pleased with the death of the wicked.
(Eze 18:23) Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
(Eze 18:32) For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Under the dispensation that Elijah lived in, the knowledge of God and His modules operandi was very very limited. So folks in those days said and did things according to their level of knowledge that were contrary to what God would have them do.
This was part of the reason God became flesh in His Son Jesus to give us a perfect representation of His true nature, will and character. Ending an era of attributing evil, death and destruction to Him. This is so clear in that in the face of the strongest opposition Jesus never killed but healed and restored life to His enemies.
(Heb 1:1) God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
(Heb 1:2) Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
(Heb 1:3) Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
So in Christ’s dealing with man, we see the true nature of God. In His words, Jesus puts it this way.
(Joh 10:10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Just a little while after those words, He set out with His disciples to Jerusalem for a preaching engagement and the Samaritans would not allow Him pass through their city because they were not at peace with the Jews.
When His disciple saw what was happening, they got so upset they wanted to call down fire to consume the Samaritans who were their enemies and enemies of the Gospel at that moment. But what did Jesus do? Let’s see it together from the scriptures.
(Luk 9:51) And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
(Luk 9:52) And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.
(Luk 9:53) And they did not receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
(Luk 9:54) And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?
(Luk 9:55) But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.
(Luk 9:56) For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.
Verse 55 said Jesus REBUKED them for even having that thought alone. The word “rebuked” in that verse is not like when you softly tell your son, “Son don’t do this again.” No, it’s a very strong word. It is used almost the same way it is used to say Jesus rebuked demons. Very strongly.
He was very serious about them not imitating Elijah in this manner at all. And in verse 56 we see His reasons clearly.
(Luk 9:56) For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them….
In praying for those in authority and for all men in general, Paul gives us a guideline.
(1Ti 2:1) I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
(1Ti 2:2) For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
(1Ti 2:3) For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
(1Ti 2:4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
God would have all men (including your village people. LOL) to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the Truth. He doesn’t want anyone perishing.
Some say it is not the human beings they are praying to die but the evil spirits behind their wickedness. Like seriously? Spirits don’t die! Even if they do, it is not within your authority biblically to kill them. Only God can and that’s why He made Hell, their place of eternal death.
The Bible said believers should cast them out, not kill them in the name of Jesus.
(Mar 16:17) And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Be humble and remain within the confines of the scriptures and stop making Christianity look like a joke with those extra Biblical practices or those not permitted for the man in Christ today.
I hope this blesses you.
Glory to God!

[quote author=sammie256 post=76616427]Ismaila Salau, a 49-year-old electrician, on Tuesday in an Igbosere High Court denied killing his wife, Silifat Yakubu, with a pestle, NAN reports. Salau was arraigned in 2015, on a count charge of murder preferred against him by the Lagos State Government. At the resumed hearing, Salau, who was led in evidence by his counsel, Mr A. A. Babalola, said on Oct. 3, 2014, he was held up in traffic after running errands for a friend. Salau said that when he got home, he did not see his wife, who had gone to her mother’s place for Sallah celebration and her phone was switched off. He said he called his older daughter who told him that the deceased left her mother’s house since 8 p.m. Salau narrated how he went for a village meeting the following day and heard about a pregnant woman who drowned in the stream. He said, “I then told the Baale that my wife was missing so he asked me and my wife’s older brother to go to the Badagry General Hospital where the corpse was deposited to check if it was my wife. “When I saw the corpse, I knew that that was my wife.” During cross-examination by the Lagos State prosecutor, Jubril Kareem, the accused admitted that he did not report to the police about his missing wife. He, however denied the statement he allegedly made to the police during police investigation. After listening to the evidence, Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye, adjourned the case until April 9, for continuation of trial. Earlier, the prosecutor told the court that the defendant murdered his wife, Silifat Yakubu, by hitting her head with a pestle and dumping her corpse in a nearby stream. However, the defendant pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody. see more https://www.intoallthings.com.ng/2019/03/man-kills-wife-in-plateau-but-denies.html[People, please reason with me here, something happened in Plateau but hearing is done in Lagos, this Tori get K leg ] |

19Ebisco: “They are fighting back. But the average Nigerian is not going to align with those forces. No, we cannot return to Egypt.”
Romanus Ugwu, Abuja
The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the ruling party has no reason to entertain fears over the 2019 general elections.
He specifically spoke on the candidacy of the PDP standard bearer, Atiku Abubakar and the state of the ruling party in Imo and Ogun States, arguing that the APC is stronger in those states now than before. 2019: My youths minister’ll be less than 30 years – Atiku What will the APC tells Nigerians to convince them to vote for your party again?
Nigerians cannot forget that the PDP promised to provide stable electricity but failed in the 16 years they stayed in power. They will not forget that PDP spent $16 billion for power but the more money they spent, the more darkness. They will not forget that PDP claimed to have spent more money on rails but not one track did we see. Workers will not forget that all the industries were liquidated under the PDP. The textile industry employed more than a million people but 95 percent are out of job. Nigeria was exporting tyres to neighbouring countries but today, Michelin, Dunlop closed door under the PDP.
We should look at what the exchange rate was in1999 by the time they took over which was at the peak of Nigeria prosperity when oil went up to $140pb. Side by side with that is the country’s finance, you find out that Nigeria was into borrowing and deficit financing even at the time of surplus budgeting. These are the things we will put on the table and the good thing is that the PDP candidate was the vice president and people knew the role he played. According to somebody, he was one of the most powerful vice president Nigeria had. As a central player, he cannot say he did not know what went on in government. All the issues of huge corruptions like how his boss funded every National Assembly member with N50 million to House of Representatives members and N100 million for Senators, coming from within the system happened under them. Nigerians are aware of all those fraudulent activities under them.
We cannot return to those era of locust that Nigerians are very conversant with. Not only will women campaign, I strongly believe that the youths will campaign too. We cannot return to the situation where Nigeria became the highest per capital owner of private jets, yet the owners of the jets have no business addresses. The only thing is that they have connections at the NNPC, PPRC among others. We are aware that there are people across the divide that are fighting back and as the vice president said; we can see the gang up from people who are used to sucking the system without adding any value. Those ones are being cut off and obviously they are fighting back. But the average Nigerian is not going to align with those forces. No, we cannot return to Egypt. What is your assessment of the peace committee?
I believe it is working very well and the governors have been very helpful in going from state to state talking to the people. Those that have negotiable grievances are being sorted out but if there are individuals who simply insist that it is either what they want or they will port, there is nothing we can do about that.
Nigeria has to go to a level that it is only rules that matters not person. Whether big or small person, the rules are not supposed to discriminate and those are the things we are trying to do. Did the defection of Amosun and Okorocha’ men surprise you?
Our popularity in Imo and Ogun States are much higher. What you don’t know is that Nigerians always made me surprise by thinking that once you are a governor, you have electoral value. Yes, we have overwhelming majority of the APC governors with electoral value but we also have others without electoral values. I can concretely tell you today that in Imo State, APC will win more votes. As I said, it is about numbers and my focus is about the ordinary Imo electorate because the governor, his Commissioner for Happiness and the son in-law have only one vote on that day.
But those mechanics, market women, school teachers and workers whose salaries are unpaid for years that have the same weight of votes. They are excited about the new possibilities of a new government coming with new idea free from all the encumbrances of the present system. I am very confident in Imo.
Also, in Ogun State, don’t forget that the vice president is from there. We cannot focus on one person and not on the other. Ogun is one of the most enlightened states in the country and that is where Chief Awolowo came from. They have a huge history in a political kingdom headed by one person. I believe that if they are looking for reconciliation or truth, they would not have done what they did. They already have the mindset that once they don’t get their governor in, nothing is right; it is not how democracy works.
In America, a president can endorse someone yet the person loses. Don’t forget that Obama endorsed Clinton but Americans voted for Trump. Nigeria democracy must grow beyond this big man syndrome of ‘I am the governor and I will decide,’ yet you have only one vote and with all due respect, I was a governor but I know that I have only one vote on the day of election and in only one polling booth.
Overall, APC is a much stronger party now but we should not focus only on APC alone. Talking of Ogun State, the PDP has two governorship candidates and two deputy governors running, yet as we speak, the APC has only one in the person of Dapo Abiodun. When a child ran out of his father’s house to bear a new name according to history and the Bible, he returned when the weather thoroughly beats him as a prodigal son. That is why APC has prodigal sons. Those who think that their political future is tied to one person are poor students of history. They forget that some of these people thinking that they are invisible have run election before and lost deposit until they abandoned their parties and joined us.
If they return, history will repeat itself. We are not thinking of sanctioning them because the real sanction will come from the electorate but as for if any rules of the party has been breached, are the things we will have to look at. It is not my function. What should be the real headline is that we will deliver Dapo Abiodun in Ogun State and Hope Uzodinma in Imo State. What are your fears for the 2019 elections?
I will rather tell you my hopes and that is that Buhari will win by getting more votes than he garnered before. Some of those people who misuse religion, which was one of the most potent weapons used very recklessly by people that have no issues in 2015, this time around they would have to speak to issue because the two main candidates are Muslims.
Secondly, we also had the issue of north and south responsible for Buhari retaining the key support in the north while the south suspiciously voted based on son of the soil. This time, ethnicity will be a non-issue because they are from the same region. They are therefore going to look at character.
Nobody has said that Buhari is a thief, but who said that the other person is a thief was the person he worked with. If you are working with me and I said that you are thief, that God will punish me if I support you and when you are confused because your supply line has been chopped off and you enter a new deal, you now come back to say I now support you, that God you invoked with your name to punish you if you support that person is about to go to work and He will go to work in February next year. He will punish you thoroughly and punish the person he is supporting in favour of Nigeria.

6Ebisco: President Muhammadu Buhari has said it will require more than one election cycle to fix Nigeria and deliver the promised change.
According to him, the change promised by his government was not an event but a process and it would, therefore, require time to deliver.
He urged Nigerians to re-elect him for another term of four years, promising that the fruits of the efforts he had made in fixing the country in the last three and a half years would soon begin to manifest.
Speaking yesterday in Lagos at the 75th anniversary business lecture of the Island Club, Buhari also debunked the argument that Nigeria lacked institutions, and said the claim was one of the “hyperbolic expressions that fly around these days.”
The lecture titled, “Nation building and institutional development, lessons for Nigeria from the Island Club at 75,” was delivered on his behalf by the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola.
Buhari, who is the grand patron of the club, recalled that unlike now, there was a time when the club held its major events in the open air because it had no hall and could not afford one then.
“It took more than one term and one election cycle of the Chairman of Island Club to build this hall just as it will require more than one election cycle to build the nation and deliver change,” the President said.
He stressed that the fact that the Island Club had existed for 75 years had put a lie to the claim that there were no institutions in the country.
This, he said, was another lesson that the nation had to learn from the club’s 75th anniversary, stressing that the fact that people expected more from the existing institutions did not mean that the institutions did not exist.
“The process of change and reform did not happen because Island Club did anything; it happened because people, members of the club, and I believe, non-members, who were men of goodwill, chose to act,” he added.
Buhari said he had put the country on the path of food security by banning the importation of rice despite opposition by vested interests, who frustrated earlier government food security policies such as Operation Feed the Nation and the Green Revolution.
As a result, he said, his administration had produced millions of rice and wheat farmers, adding that his vision was to industrialise the nation’s food sector.
Buhari said under his watch the manufacturing sector had made progress, citing recent statistics by the National Bureau of Statistics.
Buhari said his reforms in the power sector had led to improved power supply, which had rubbed off on small-scale businesses.
“It is because of these small business owners, hard-working Nigerians that I am offering myself to serve for one more time,” the President said.

He described it as a plan by the Fulani to colonize Nigeria. Adefarasin criticized the Nigerian government for not doing anything to protect the people in the Middle Belt, who are under the constant attack from armed Fulani herdsmen. Referring to the history of how Uthman Dan Fodio came to colonize Nigeria, the fiery preacher said the Fulanis had been summoned from other countries to complete the colonization plan of Uthman Dan Fodio in Nigeria. But the Pastor in his message said: “Nobody will be able to carry out intentions of Fulani people to colonize Nigeria again. Nigeria will never become the Fulani republic,” Pastor Adefarasin said. https://lailasnews.com/pastors-criticizing-buharis-government-risking-their-lives-femi-fani-kayode/Talk for yourself |

Angelanest: Yesterday, the Jewish community stormed the residence of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at Isiama Afaraukwu Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia state. The group from Yahweh Yahshua Synagogue arrived the IPOB leader's house to hold the ongoing Shabbat celebration as they reportedly prayed for Nnamdi Kanu and praised him.
It can be recalled that Nnamdi Kanu has several times stated that he and the Igbo people are descendants of the Jews.
The IPOB leader whose whereabouts is unknown, had always celebrated and identified with the Jewish community in Nigeria and Africa at large.
According to the Jewish religious law, Shabbat is observed from a few minutes before sunset on Friday evening until the appearance of three stars in the sky on Saturday night. Shabbat is ushered in by lighting candles and reciting a blessing.

Politics › Re: How To Identify Suicide Bombers – Buratai by nanzozo(m): 9:38am On May 07, 2018 |
EdifiedCEO: Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai yesterday gave tips on how to identify suicide bombers.
Speaking during a visit to the Emir of Mubi in Adamawa State where suicide bombers struck last week, Gen. Buratai said the security situation had improved in the town compared to three years ago, even though there were still pockets of suicide attacks.
He said:
He assured that security agencies would continue to ensure that suicide bombers did not have access to the community, but if they did, they would be apprehended before causing havoc.
He also spoke on the need for synergy between the military and traditional institution.
The Emir of Mubi Alhaji Abubakar Ahmadu said the Emirate Council and security agencies had identified the loopholes in security that led to the recent suicide bomb blast in the town.
The Emirsaid more than 20 people died in the incident, while over 50 others sustained injuries in the twin explosions at different locations in Mubi on May 1.
The traditional ruler described the incident as unfortunate and assured that it would not happen again.

lightblazingnow: Ezekiel 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.
Apparently, you are actually killing folks everyday, when you think only of yourself and not of Others as well. But today people make it a prayer points to kill the wicked man. Repent and turn right When mountain of fire be shouting die, die, die, lol What sort prayer is that. |
