TheCongo2:No country will give you a visa or renew your visa on an expired passport. This simply means they must have gotten a visa that correspond to the life span or validity of their passport. (Meaning you cant applied to get a one year visa or visa renewal on a 6 months passport validity). So they must have gotten their valid visa on a valid passport. And if you know your passport will be expiring soon, why not go to your embassy and renew it or fly back home to do it? So the point here is, if they've renewed their passport, they wont be having expired passport issue. And as far as you are having an expired passport, it simply means you cant get a valid visa on such an expired passport. And thats not an excuse. Because for you to stay in another man's country, you definitely need a valid visa. staying in another man's country without visa due to an expired passport is no body's fault but yours. So in all, an expired passport means no valid visa. And staying without valid visa is a crime. |

caringsce:The hurdle is not at arriving at your destination which happens to be ones own country, but leaving the foreign country one is presently at. Because before you do, south african immigration will have to clear and certify you for not over-staying your previous visa (overstaying means you have to pay for the excess you've stayed before you can leave the country). So yes, there is a hurdle because they will have to either pay for the excess they've stayed or possibility of even being jailed is there. Again, this is where our embassy can step in and issue T.C to Nigerians who dont have valid passport and/ot claim they lost their passport, hence they couldnt come forward to extend their visa. The T.C enable them smooth passage through airport immigration. |

I stand to condem this act by sars in the strongest term. They are supposed to protect Nigerians, foreigners in Nigeria and our properties. It is absolutely wrong and hope the govt realy engage in a permanent solution about this. I remembered so so clear either 2018 or 2017 during the end sars campaign when this same Ikechukwu said "no sars murafuker shud come bear me mehnnnn, ama black belt in karate and ama use my licensed weapon on those murafuker sars. They call for it. They've realy over pushed their luck. More countries should follow in like manners, but it shouldn't end there. femtex007:Not like am supporting crime but I disagree with you and its such mindset of our people losing jobs that has made countries like south africa to think they have monopoly to violence. If dstv shuts down today, an indigenous tv station will rise to take its place and thus give way for growth of local content. And these same companies will hire the services of competent regular hands which is likely to be this same old Nigerians working there. Or better still fresh Nigerians will be employ which still maintains the same employment status in Nigeria. Same applies to stanbic, mtn, shoprite. Viral news making round now is that Nigerians have decided to retaliate south africans in their own coin, since it has become obvious that the only thing that puts them in their right thinking is taking drastic actions against their firms in Nigeria (like the mtn fine that made them stop last xenophoboc attacks on Nigeria).
