President Buhari should tread with caution. In as much as i do not support paying billions to militias, if these militias start an insurgency the nigerian army would not be able to stop them, it is already spread too thin fighting boko haram. An insurgency in the south would cripple nigerias main source of income then there would be no money to even fight boko haram. He should avoid that at all costs if he wants nigeria to not become another failed state.

The news is likely to be false. First the amount is too good to be true and it has not been reported by any major news outlet e.g CNN, BBC, Punch. Surely a 5 billion dollar donation won't escape their radar.
