European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by nateevs(m):
I repeat that tippy tappy DOES NOT WIN GAMES! It is the GOALS! How you get them is a different question entirely.
Again! Totally wrong. Tippy tappy wins games. Fact! Ask Barca. Ask Borrusia Dortmund.

My point is this, you approach each game differently. Playing tippy tappy takes some time and your ALL players needs NEAR PERFECT understanding and football chemistry and this is something we don't have yet. You approach each game as per needed.
Now this is a different point of argument entirely. "Tippy tappy takes time to master" is completely different from "tippy tappy does not win games". You argument lacks cohesion and constructive balance. You are trying to make two different things look like the same whilst arguing only on one side.

Stop mixing two things up. It's harder to master tippy tappy. I quite agree. However, it's folly to attempt to create an argument that suggests that because it is hard to master, it does not win games. In fact, that is the third point you've brought into the argument whilst arguing the same thing.

In most cases, route one works BEST.
Fa fa fa fowl!!!!. No one plays route one better than Stoke. What have they won? How has it worked out for them? I really love when you glue so much confidence to an empirically-flawed fact and attempt to make it look like a scientifically-backed evidence when in-fact it's all a load of codswallop.

"In most cases" grin grin. . What percentage? Give facts and figures. Some guys will not roll away and accept flawed logic all because of a hunch.

na tippy tappy win you EPL after 50 something odd years?
Nope! Hundreds of millions of pounds did. Never exclude that from any argument you make. Millions won the league after 50 years not a perceived "football style"

na tippy tappy win us the Double few seasons back?
You probably were not watching the league in this season. Go check the stats dude. Tippy tappy won the league. Scored the most goals ever in a single league. Go and review the season. Most especially the games against Aston Villa, Stoke and Wigan. (7-1, 7-0 and 8-1) I hope I got the scores right. We attempted to pass the ball out everytime. No route one dude.

se na tippy tappy we take win UCL and FA?
You are the one arguing against yourself. No one says other styles don't win games. We are just saying you are wrong saying tippy tappy does not win games. Shey you get the discussu=ion at all?

We are what we are today not because of tippy tappy or do you disagree with that? I will take substance over style. ANYDAY ANYTIME!
if you aint scoring goals amigo, you will end up like l'ars/e. FACT!
Dude! Get you argument right. Proponents of tippy tappy are not preachers of non-scoring teams. I have no idea where you got this idea that "tippy tappy" = "you won't score" . Who invented this crap?

Substance over style. Who says substance always wins over style. Where are the facts? Who's collated them? Arsenal is not the only club in the world playing "tippy tappy", so why are we conveniently excluding the others? Sebi you watched Spain on in 3 consecutive tournaments?

Why bring up Arsenal every time tippy tappy is mentioned. It's like saying tippy tappy ain't worth it because Wigan don't win jack. undecided undecided Heck West Ham play route-one, they ain't gon' win sh1t.

Tippy tappy wins games! Fact! Ask Barca - 13 trophies in just over 3 years. Beat that.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by nateevs(m): 6:33pm On Oct 24, 2012
Tippy tappy wins games. Ask Barcelona. Tippy tappy wins games. Ask Borrusia Dortmund. It's unfair to keep asking proponents of tippy tappy football to ask Arsenal. The fact that Chelsea have won trophies over the last 10 years is a result of sh1t loads of mega spending - way over the billion mark - in assembling the best players in the world and not only because "we were finishing and Arsenal were not" or that we managed to find a method of playing football with meagre resources that supersedes tippy tappy.

The thing with Arsenal is that they are doing it the wrong way. You can teach tippy tappy in the academy up to first team. What you cannot teach is goal-scoring. It's an inherent ability in footballers and only a few have it. Therefore, like they had in Van Persie, they should always look for top strikers and try to spend big on them.

People should desist from labelling Arsenal's inconsistent finishing "a consequence of tippy tappy". It is not. Arsenal are not going to score more goals or "finish well" than they do now if they stopped tippy tappy this very minute. That's where this point of view evaporates. If anything, they will score less.

Tippy tappy wins games - fact! Ask Barca. They just did what Arsenal did not do. They spent over 65m Euros in a deal involving Ibrahimovic and Eto'o. They've spent 40m Euros since then in the acquisition of Villa.

I hope we can rise from this.

Ibime: Adeballz and Nateevs are arguing two different sides of coin.

Adeballz argument is against my statement that "RDM does not see Ramires as a midfielder"

Nateevs argument is that "team is better without Lamps"

Adeballz said Mikel should be dropped for Romeu.

Nateevs said Lampard should be dropped for Ramires.

Yet ganging up on same argument because it is all against Ibime - the man they love to hate!!! grin
Hehehehe. You forgotten quickly how you were plotting charts and pasting pictures.
Telling us who was more advanced in one game and extrapolating invented scenarios for the latter screen shots.
So you mean to say all that was in an attempt to attack my position of "The team is better off without Lampard" grin grin grin grin
Ibime can lie even in front of God.

Whichever way you play, it's looking more and more like I am right. We don't have a 20-goal-a-season midfielder but we have creative midfielders who don't just "cover ground", they press the opposition and we still win games. Guess what? The oldest of the midfielders is 24. The others are 21 and 20 respectively.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by nateevs(m): 2:05pm On Oct 22, 2012
debosky: @ Ibime

Who is being dropped for Ramires to feature now? Is it Lampard or Mikel?

How many games has Ramires played in MF now? It it still the case that 'RDM doesn't see Ramires as a CM'?

Is Lamps still injured?
grin grin grin

Imagine all the abuse I got for dare saying Lamps was sat for Ramires.
Oya roll on the next 3-page argument.

FBS: er, that should be Mr Nateevs. grin
FBS: Oh man, what a match that was. MOTM = MATA
- Cahill's goal was a thunderbolt. Right through the middle. Wonderfully executed
- Mata had a brilliant game. The understanding between the trio is just, beautiful. On the same sinusoidal wave length.
- We need a striker. End of...
- Is it me or the boys are still in gear 2.5? cheesy We ain't going full throttle yet. Nice.

@nateevs, were you rooting for avb or torres yesterday or both? cheesy
Piss taking in over-drive mate. My support for AVB ended the moment he walked out of the door.
Everything I said after was in defence of how he may or may not have been better at the job he left.
To think that there is a tiny chance that I may be rooting for AVB against Chelsea is ridiculous.
I wish him good in his future endeavour and I know he has what it takes to get to where he desires.
However, I will wish him death against Chelsea where possible. grin grin My support no dey close eye!

You know me na. I don't worship - players or managers.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game - Fabulous.
I am still very impressed by the work rate Oscar brings.
Like you said, we haven't gone out of gear 2 yet.
To think that we still have Romeu, Marin, Sturridge and Moses who have had only a few minutes.
We can only get better.

To buy a striker, we will need to shell out loads of money.
Unless we are looking at Lewandowski, we are talking in excess of £40m for either of Falcao or Cavani.
I am not sure we are shelling that much out any more. FFP is around the corner.

Juan Mata. What a player! He really needed the rest he got in September cos he was looking jaded.
He's very instrumental to everything we do, especially how we play.

Bearing in mind that Oscar and Hazard are still in their first season. I cannot imagine when they too grow.
Good times.

Two glorious moments for me in the game.

1. Gary Cahill's goal.
2. Hazard's assist for Mata's goal.

The bad moment.

Torres' one-on-one miss. He didn't even manage to get the shot out.

The goal by Cahill was amazing. The technique was amazing.

While the interchanging movement of Mata, Oscar, Hazard and Torres is brillian tto watch, what is more impressive is the pressing.
When there is desire to press, you don't need players who built like towers in midfield.

I hope we can score a second and hold on to the 3 points.

thelastPope: Actually, I can go online right now and give you a hundred stories from Americans about America, similar to your story. That is even the point of the whole health care reform dabate. I feel your pain but you miss the whole point. I have been abroad more than once and am not holed up in Nigeria. I have 3 visas on my passport

The point is simple:

Nigeria has her many issues but it is our country

Your story should inspire you to do things to change Nigeria so others would not suffer your fate, not make you bitter. Unfortunately, that is the difference between many oyibos and black men. How did Americans react to the great depression or germans to post 1st and 2nd world war crisis?

Let your story motivate you to be a change agent. That is why we have the Mandelas, Ghandis of this world.
What have you done yet?
