The problem for me is not what Meireles is. It's what Meireles isn't. Especially if he is brought in to replace Modric.
The football style is changing and the sooner we move away from Lampard style players, the better.

I don't see why we should bring in a player who is 28 already. This goes against everything we've done this summer.
The oldest player we signed is Mata. We have a bucket load of ninjas who are winding down.
We don't need players who are marginally better than Ramires.

Sources in Denmark claiming Chelsea have finally concluded the signing of 20 year-old Belgian midfielder Kevin De Bruyne for 10m Euros.

Kaka earns 9m Euros a year. Terry and Lamps have contract terms that put them on par with the highest earner at the club.
Kaka signs and we already have 3 players on 9m Euros on their contract with at least 2 years to go.

I don't think Fiorentina will want to part with Jovetic. I will grab him as well. Maybe a £20m bid will get them to sell.
I am not sure Modric will be £40m cash. Most likely £35m and Benayoun as Benayoun has given up the number 10.

Rumours flying around suggest we are looking at Michel Bastos as an alternative to Alvaro.
Dealing with Aulas though is a nightmare.

I still believe that Ricardo Montolivo at £15m is an absolute bargain. City are the ish man.
The guys from Manchester are not joking at all.

Drop Ramires from midfield first and our play will improve.
Romeu should begin to get minutes and the quickness of the movement should improve as well.


Overall, the squad, 3 matches are still learning how to move the ball quickly in midfield and press to regain possession when lost.
It will come together. I just hope it does before we are left behind.

I do know Krasic is a winger. The option I was talking about is to have Krasic and Danny on the flanks and Mata in midfield alongside Lamps if we do not get Modric. That said, Lamps has been very poor.

On the talk of attack, IMHO, Lukaku should be allowed to get more minutes.

It is too late at this point to begin considering other options to Modric. I understand we have a plan B in Moutinho.
Another option if the Alex to Juve deal is completed. I am hearing we will ask for Krasic in return for Alex and some cash.

Ramires? What can I say? We have to really work on your midfield if we are going to stiffen the title chase.
Modric and Mata will create a different dimension. I am also hoping Danny can step up.
It's only one more player in except another leaves. We have only one more spot left for a foreign player.

Ulises has been on the cards for some time now. Along with Gael Etock and Islam Feruz.
Gael Etock though a barca reject, will be loaned to Sporting Lisbon.

The quality of youngsters we are signing is taking a new and direction.
I am also quite happy we are at least signing midfielders now . .

Still too many attackers and too many defenders. We need to concentrate on signing talented young midfielders.

AVB will not sign another DM. I believe he will slowly ease Romeu into the team.
I am still believing the Modric will go through - unfortunately though at a ridiculous price.
I cannot imagine Modric being more expensive than Cesc in the same transfer window.
Ricardo Montolivo at £15m will do just as great. Plus Ricardo gets goals.
