do you have any empirical evidence i am sharon?
is this a factual statement or another chav opinion like ramirez is better than sergio busquets?
The only reason I thought you are not Sauron is you have this annoying penchant for starting sentences with small letters - total disregard for proper nouns. Sauron was never like that. Except of course you suffered a brain spasm.

Music/Radio › Re: Fake American Accents On Nigerian Radio & Tv! by nateevs(m): 10:26am On Sep 15, 2011
omobadan:
I think speaking clearly, pronouncing words right etc are usually relevant when say you're dealing with certain non-Nigerian/non-African people. Believe me, a foreigner won't go to Mbaise and expect them to rework their accent for his/her own benefit. Those people don't know how anyway! It's the same thing with someone who has lived in the UK or US for 20years and hasn't been able to shake off their Nigerian accent. These Nigerians have meaningful conversation with these same foreigners in their own country. That's why I don't buy into the faking of accents in Naija. Those people are just silly - end of story! Someone did mentioned maybe those presenters/DJs were trying to appeal to the youth. I seriously doubt that! If that was d case, 9ice's music wont get anywhere because he was singing in Yoruba. I understand our love for the American & British cultures but make we tone it down small small before it gets ridiculous, if it hasn't already sef! undecided
And one of the many reasons Nigerians never most times never make it to the top. If you talk with a Nigerian accent, people cannot understand you. It's just very simple. If you job requires you to be public facing, you have got to learn how to speak clearly and by speaking clearly, pronouncing words the right way.

It is impossible for you to have sound pronunciation without sounding foreign. If you pronounce the word like an American, you will sound American. If you pronounce a word like an English man, you will sound English. Just like it is impossible to have sound pronunciation of Yoruba words and not sound Yoruba.

There is a thing line between "faking an accent" and pronouncing correctly. Some people work diligently to pronounce correctly. You may mistake them for "fakers" and that will be naive. People who pronounce correctly are usually consistent. (At least with the words they know how to pronounce well)

The reason a foreigner will not rework their accent living in a foreign country is because at present, they do not need to do so. A white man if allowed can contest for a seat in House of Reps and will be voted for. If the Nigerian economy is strong and white people migrate to Nigeria, if they have to learn Hausa with the accent to make a living, they will. How do you know they don't know how?

Danny has been really impressive so far.

My problem is he tends to be a tad too selfish.
I"m sure he will outgrow that with time though.
I really wish he can build more on his passing and his overall ability to be a team player.
Adding that to his ability to score will make him a better player.

That said, I like his selfishness now. It makes him decisive, something Kalou has no idea about.

Including his goals at Bolton, it will be interesting to know that Danny Sturridge has scored 9 goals in his last 13 apps. Wow!

Also Petr Cech had this to say about David Luiz.

"It is the way Didier shoots the free-kicks. It looks so funny the way he does it, and David Luiz as well now. I think he is even more amazing because he can shoot the ball in a way I have never seen before.
You think he shoots with the ankle, not the foot, and it goes so fast up and down, and it can go right or left, and you never know where it will go".

It'll be interesting to see what he can do in a real match situation. I still marvel at the technique with which he scored his goal against United last season and that goal two days ago.

The incentive to work hard is very appealing.

On Torres. . .

Like I two days ago, I will pass my judgement when I see Torres, Mata and Danny in front.
As anticipated, it went well.

I don't know if anyone feels the same but I think Torres' comments played a big part in the speed of play yesterday.
He could have done better but at least there is hope.

On Lampard. . .

I only did not want to bitch but when Lamps came in yesterday, it all went one or two steps slower. I cannot count how many times he lost possession because the speed on the game was a notch too high for him. He kept making mistakes and moving the ball backwards. .

Like I have been saying for ages, Lamps in the midfield hurts strikers. Simple.
Only a striker like Drogba can feed off Lamps, others will struggle.
AVB needs to show he has the balls. There's no top team in the world who relies on a 33 year-old midfielder to pull the strings. Things need to move on.

The speed of play is crucial. That's why United stay focused and are always on the brink of scoring.
That's why they get so many goals.

If we are to press in midfield, steal the ball early and help conceal the weaknesses of Terry playing a high line, then we must play with Meireles, Ramires and Romeu in midfield. . . however a Meireles, Ramires, Mikel can manage. However I feel AVB will play Lamps, Ramires and Meireles for fear of a backlash of dropping Lamps in back to back games and I worry a lot for this.

We have to move forward. We need to make crucial decisions.
Some years ago we could not mount a meaningful attack with Drogba out.
Sometimes these days, I forget we still have Drogs.

That's how to move on.

So far, fantastic signing.

The overall performance was bliss.
The pressing is being mastered.

Hope we can be decent against Utd.

torres was so selfless there. . . .
there's no way cristiano is passing that ball to a team-mate. . . . .not after the bad press and nonsense in the media.

torres could have bent that ball in with his right foot, but he intelligently rolled the ball to juan mata. . .
even my nan would have scored that with her eyes firmly shut!

the team only needs to gel. . . .
there's future in this chelsea team if some of the oldies can be booted out of the first xi.
Very unselfish. I was off my chair hoping the see a trade mark Torres curl into the far corner.
I think for a moment, his lack of confidence got the better of him there.
I guess he thot quickly that he may not score and then looked up and saw Mata sprinting forth.

Torres on form will be curling that in from there. Dude will come good. Definitely!

That's why Luiz should play DM. We have too many centre-backs of good quality and Luiz has what it takes to play there.
Remember last season when I was begging that CA can at least see the DM in Luiz.

However this season, one of the reasons Luiz should be Centre back is because of the high line.
I don't know what AVB's plans are against Utd but that high line scares me knowing JT will be back.

Torres 2 assists.

Good lord we need to find another Mata.

I am very impressed with the performance.

@Ibime,

I was expecting to see you complain about Mikel. Everything you knew about him, drop right now.
This is the way I saw him play in pre-season.
What's changed. . . ? Mikel's on, Lampard isn't.

coogar:
i hope you are seeing the new torres now. . . .playing with players who can make quicker passes is what would make el-nino thrive.
but for that idiotic meireles trying to be a hero, torres would have scored in the first 10 mins with his flick.

if he gets the ball quickly, he is a menace to any defence!!!
This has always been my opinion. We change the side and Torres gets 3 chances.
Play like this and see if Torres won't score. I am on his side.
He doesn't have the confidence now but all he needs is a goal.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread:Home Of The Blues!!!! by nateevs(m): 7:40pm On Sep 13, 2011
Except with Malouda who plays a massive part in those who slow down the play.
Although he should not have put his opinion in the public, I am siding with Torres on this one. At least until I am satisifed that all options have been exhausted.
