Mikel Obi failed to be effective against Croatia, same thing happened to Messi, Aguero and Higuain. This is not by accident. Croatia are set-up in a way to neutralize the threat of opponents. Give Mikel some support, he could still shine at this world even as a No.10 — Jose Mourinho take note.

I hope so too. Mikel's main role in that midfield is to coordinate and say.... Ndidi, stay here, you, mark that one, do this, do that. His experience really helped in coordinating the midfield against Croatia. I couldn't even believe that our midfielders played better than their midfielders combined. That was why they started floating the ball over the midfield and using their height advantage hoping someone will knock it down for another to shoot. They couldn't perforate our midfield and that's a very good thumbs up.


The problem we also have is that, Moses just stayed on the wings without going towards the box. The fact that you are a RF does not mean that that is where you will stay all the time. Iwobi was played as a winger too which is a no no. He is better as an 8 behind Ighalo. Ihenacho is another super supporting striker. He has killer passes and can shoot well. I wish there can be space for Ihenacho and Iwobi at the same time but this seems impossible.

Iwobi and even Tyrone (a left back) are more offensive than Mikel. Even in the DM position (the position he's been playing since 2005) Ndidi and Etebo are far better.

Mikel should be benched, he is not indispensable.

Ecuador rested almost all of their first 11 and fielded inexperienced teenagers and young boys. The captain of the team, VALENCIA was even on the bench throughout that match. Ecuador was obviously begged to go soft. Match fixing at its peak.

Our best player on the field for me tonight was Etebo. He held and played fantastically well in the midfield.

I always tell people that penalty is not an easy thing to play but people insult Ronaldo and call him Penaldo. Look at the rubbish penalty Messi played.... A type of penalty that once a good keeper gets the sides, he can save it. Now, compare that with what Ronaldo played against Juventus?? Respect for Penaldo. Messi was just too casual. We saw how determined Ronaldo was yesterday and how furious he was when things weren't getting on well cos he feels they weren't creating enough chances. Messi on the other hand, seems to be less concerned. What could be wrong?

Exactly my dear. Did you see the way Ronaldo took several deep breathes and calmed down before he took it? He was even talking to himself in a way. So psychologically sound and balanced, excellent player. Against Juventus, they tried intimidating him before his PK, he wasn't even concerned, he roofed it and hit it so hard. He has composure and an excellent mentality and calmness. It wasn't just all about the technique of the freekick,it was about the great player that played it and his state of mind when doing so. What a performance!

Both of you are Odeinstein. Are you blind and didn't see the freekick? 2 goals keepers in goal cannot stop that ball. Ball that went round the defence and was curving and gradually dropping. Ball that still hit top post even after dropping. There was no way a keeper can stop that. Appreciate the superbly taken freekick rather than being a bad belle and abusing the keeper.
