has it being proven that saraki is guilty of the crimes he is accused of? how can he step down for offences that havent being proven at the law court?? sometimes i wonder the brain composition of 90 percent of the people on nairaland. No wonder 90% of Nigerian graduates are unemployable.

****cheers

****In decent democracies when people are "accused of corruption" they step down from their position to "clear their names." They don't wait to be sentenced.

I wonder when you **** in Nigeria and Africa would start thinking like that.

Evans Enwerem was alleged to have forged his certificate and was asked to step down as Senate President in 1999 and he did. Adolfus Wabara was accused of education related corruption and he stepped down. Please what is stopping Saraki from doing the needful?

Tomorrow they will say Igbos like money and power more than every other tribe in Nigeria.

Who is fooling who?

the subject says it all... I'd like to know how much they earn monthly as salaries excluding whatever gains they make from illegal frauds they dole out to customers.....

#somemone pls shed some light

Just know that it is not fixed. A petrol station owner determines how much to pay them. But on average they earn btw 10 - 20k. And most times they work by shifts

If Buhari dies (but God forbid), Osinbajo will be sworn in as President but I don't see him going beyond 2019. Because if he insists, all PDP needs do is to get a northern presidential candidate and lo and behold, what happened to GEJ in 2015 will happen to Osinbajo in 2019.

But the good news will be that he tasted the honey pot - and will be addressed as a former president. Remember Pa E.A. Adeboye once prophesied that a Redeemer will be the president. That could be Osinbajo grin

Politics / Re: Ikpeazu Launches Urban Mass Transit Scheme In Abia by Nature129(m): 10:49pm On Jun 08, 2016
Just like a typical Nigerian politician, Gov Ikpeazu is trying so hard to impress in this first tenure so as to "qualify" for a second tenure and loot taxpayers' money.

He should fix Abia State roads esp those in Aba first because their roads are among some of the worst in Nigeria before releasing the vehicles. Port Harcourt Road used to be my worst nightmare when I lived in Aba.

Kudos to him though

Shut up! Avengers didn't threaten to blow up Aso Rock but another militant group did. Some of you read but you don't understand.

The modus operandi of the Avengers is blowing up pipelines and taking responsibility for it. They don't make idle threats.

I believe in Ambode - his influence is felt everywhere in Lagos.

Surprisingly, I love KAI and LASTMA officials grin. Only God knows what people would have turned Lagos to if not for them

I wish someone was bringing on the rhythm of northern Nigeria. Northern Nigerian activities are poorly covered on nairaland. Nigeria isn't just about the south. I believe northern governors are also working but they don't hit the headlines like southern counterparts.

Someone should be sharing development going on in the north

I have no idea how effective it is in killing mosquitoes but I know it kills human beings. For those who want to kill their enemies and have no idea how to go about it, I present to you - SNIPER! grin

On a more serious note, I knew a 32-year-old male graduate who committed suicide by taking Sniper because he didn't have a job, his family wasn't supportive and his fiance' (who used to support him financially) dumped him for another guy.

When I saw his corpse that morning covered in vomited foams and blood, I had goose pimples all day.

That was like a sharp machete cut on my heart. Just like that, Paul was dead...smh.

Bros the issue with Nigerians isn't black and white.the truth is despite all this quibbles here and there, the country doesn't even come close to breaking up anytime soon.we are actually more united than we think.for instance the Igbo pple who look the most active in secession chants are the most scattered of all the 250 plus tribes in Nigeria and we all know most don't plan on returning home.now tell me how such people can truly pursue secession. All we need in Nigeria is a little restructuring and for our politicians to be a little selfish and actually try to make peace with each other
God bless the federal republic of Nigeria

I'm Igbo BTW, and you should understand why the Igbos are so scattered. After the war, Gowon proposed the 3R and never implemented anything. In the quest to survive, the Igbos had to run to other regions. Now, they have relatives scattered all over the place.

And secondly, the Igbos believe in moving out to take business opportunities. That's why no Nigerian tribe is into business today like the Igbos.

Moving forward, the present Nigerian structure isn't working. Obviously, Nigeria needs true federalism or regionalism. I hear the challenge, from the last confab, is that north central people don't want affiliation with Hausa/Fulani domination because their capital will be in Kaduna.

Let's call a spade a spade, that northerner is very right. I don't like Nigerian version of politics at all. Ben Bruce doesn't seem to condemn evil things happening in his state/region.

He will attack Rauf Aregbesola for not paying salaries, but will keep quiet when Seriake Dickson doesn't pay salaries.

If this is not double standard, then what is?

Agriculture / Re: Lagos Government To Set Up Rice Plant In Kebbi by Nature129(m): 9:09am On Jun 05, 2016
This is the collaboration I want to see among south east governors. Pool your resources together to harness your areas of advantage.

Eg, I don't want to see the coal in Enugu getting wasted when the governors can actually come together to put it into good use.

I hear states will start extracting their solid minerals soon. When that happens, they shouldn't wait for FG. ENSG should harness the coal for power generation and employment creation or it should be a regional effort.

In summary, we need more collabo of this sort.

Politics / Re: Buhari To Implement Yar’adua’s Agreement With Niger-Delta Militants by Nature129(m): 8:26am On Jun 05, 2016
Is that old man at Aso Rock on weed or he has an ear problem as it is being rumoured? Niger Delta Avengers are talking about having a sovereign country and he's talking about implementing Yara'dua's agreement.

Those guys are sad because GEJ lost his election. Northerners used Boko Haram to ruin GEJ administration, the Avengers are paying him back in their own coins. Sadly, if Niger Delta Avengers continue to blow up pipelines at the rate they are, in 2 months' time, Nigeria may crumble - take it or leave it.

IMO, the only person that can calm those guys down is GEJ. I learnt that any Niger Deltan who doesn't support this cause is considered an enemy of the struggle. Buhari MUST beg GEJ or risk ruining this country.

The Nigeria state has not been fair to that region. You take the lion's share from them and give them crumbs. For those asking what they did with the 13% derivation money given to them, they should also answer what Nigeria has done with the 87% they kept.

If Niger Delta becomes a country tomorrow, it will definitely be among the richest countries in the world and will be the envy of all Nigerians.
