Is that your wish?

5 dead bodies are in the morgue of Bishop Shanahan Hospital Nsukka, I am an eye witness, they are on a revenge mission but believe me this will mark the end of Fulani herdsmen in that community and its neighboring villages

Okpuje community, udi and many others secretly flushed them out in the past, uzo_Uwani people will not disappoint.

I blame the state Governor who has refused to empower and arm boys with guns and trucks in the guise of vigilante group to check mate this evil Fulani's perpetrate against our people

Some time I feel like suspecting if the hands of our leaders in the East is in this activities of Fulani herdsmen just to score cheap political sympathy and discredit the Government at the centre, but on the other hand as someone who grew up among fulanis, I remember they behave like animals.......this kind of killings is not new

Stop wailing and ranting online, and do something. I've always known Enugu people to be weaklings. Anyways, I trust Aba and Onitsha guys, Fulani herdsmen can't bring their madness to those towns.

It bothers me what people like have turned Nairaland into. I still blame Mr Seun and all the super mods for allowing things to degenerate to this level.

Linda Ikeji took time to sensitize her blog readers, and it got to a point where tribal comments and abuses were not posted. I expect Mr Seun to start banning people forever so as to sanitise this platform.

We are all Nigerians. Nigerians are supposed to love themselves and see themselves as ONE.

Business / Re: Nigeria – China Currency Deal – The Biggest Winners And Losers by Nature129(m): 5:01pm On Apr 19, 2016
How come OP is not talking about the impact of excess imports from China on our local industries? I thought Nigeria had a plan to stimulate her economy by strengthening local industries - not killing them with excessive imports from China!

Economics teaches that excess importation results in unfavourable balance of trade which in the long run hurts the local economy. I thought we could encourage local industries to spring up and allow healthy competition to take place among them which will subsequently make prices of goods to come down without compelling our local industries to close shop. As it is now, importers can now import "just anything" from a China that has comparative advantage over Nigeria in manufacturing.

Who's thinking in this direction?!

To experience such hell and not only pull through uncremated, but in flying colours is highly praiseworthy.

"Real Southern standard first class"? What does that even mean?!

I'm not in the habit of talking nasty of a people, but that really got to me.

Now, I happen to serve in Unizik, Awka. I've been to most higher institutions in the south east and some parts of the SS, I've seen things, quite bad things, but one university stands out, maybe because I happen to be there longer: UNIZIK.

In that school, exam malpractice is almost a norm. Writing exams by proxy, even worse. Especially in faculties like management sciences.

I was shocked last Tuesday when I went to Unizik business school. On my way back downstairs, hall 13, faculty of mgt of course, I saw students, should be 400L cos its so written boldly door top, writing exams but it was something like I've never seen before (actually, I had. Where? Unizik, again!) students were discussing in exam hall as though it were a market square, invigilator, there present. That same day, the faculty of law recorded many casualties as well.

You see final year students with high CGPAs, yet they haven't written more than 4 exams themselves. Irregularities abound. Money can get you almost anything in that school, the women, even less money!

Or is it Anambra state uni where sorting is the only way up?

Fed poly Oko is much in the same brackets.

Abia State uni? Some professors there are not even bachelorly bright!

This place has shown me really, that the clichéd adage "an empty barrel makes the loudest noise" holds true.

I've seen the same patterns in most schools around. Students with good grades who barely know a thing!
How could they when the whole process from the lowest rungs to the zenith are rigged and fraudulent.

Like I said, money gets you anything here, just not much quality!

Up North, at least in most unis I've been to, and especially the one I graduated from, little as a writing on your palm could get you expelled; only pray you don't get caught!

What again did you say the southern standard is?

PS: this is not an attack on Anambra/se institutions, far from it, I'm just driving home a point, only that I'm using facts, drawing from the things that I've seen.

I'm glad you didn't mention FUTO...I was actually waiting to see if your madness and hypocrisy would lead you to spew trash about my alma mater

Sadly, those norhterners you defend can't even write correct English - yes, I met them at nysc, and their IQ is just unbelievable!

Keep defending the indefensible!

millionaireman:

In bold above:

[b]Eastern Palm Univ. what?

How many Imolites can afford to foot the bills in a private university which the Ogboko university is tactically placed to become?

If in one period an average Owerri man can train four wards in all the govt universities and Polytechnics in Owerri, because the wards all go to school from home, an Orlu man shall be struggling to train only one ward. That wide disparity in availability of tertiary education facilities between Owerri and Orlu people still remains, despite the presence of YOUR private university in Ogboko.

Orlu people got fcuccked up once again; the people expected Okorocha to use the Ogboko campus to bring more faculties of IMSU to Orlu zone, given that there are too many other faculties in the other govt universities in Owerri. Alas Rochas was thinking of his private university business alone.

Water.

Hopefully, water boreholes that usually close the day after inauguration are not what Okorocha govt has in mind to substitute the surface water supply scheme planned by Imo state govt to supply treated water to nearly all the local govt areas in Orlu zone.

Like the multi-billion Naira Otamiri water works supplying lots of LGAs in Owerri zone, and the Imo River water works in Umuna for all the LGAs in Okigwe zone, the surface water supply scheme for Orlu zone was also planned to source water from Njaba or Orashi River, or from both.

If in any doubt, Gov. Rochas may have to ask ex-gov Ohakim who was promising to start work on Orlu Surface water supply scheme until he was voted out.

Building of this water scheme for Orlu zone is one of the major reasons Orlu people dared Ohakim's PDP rigging machinery at all costs, even at the cost of risking lives, to ensure Okrocha's victory at the polls.

I hate the way many people lay emphasis on university education whereas there are no jobs. Unemployment rates keep increasing and we are busy building more universities.

It's high time Nigerian govt went back to skill/vocational studies. University education does not guarantee a better life in Nigeria anymore but skills do.

Everyone must not have university education, never! Other countries have already realised that, that's why they lay emphasis on skill acquisition in high school which enables their citizens to leave school and start bettering their lives while a few further to university.

If we continue like this, a school leaver in US, Lebanon, India, Pakistan, China, etc will always be a boss to a Nigerian graduate because we merely learn "academics" without "skills" whereas they have the technological skills required to automate and drive processes and industries.

We must redirect our focus from academics to skills that will ultimately lead to innovations esp now that crude oil has become almost worthless

There is no reason to be happy in Nigeria. If you doubt me, why are our youths sleeping at foreign embassies jut to get a visa to get out of this failed state? The best way to be happy in Nigeria is to stop listening to "Nigerian news."
Education / Re: Why Nigeria tertiary institutions are not attracting international students by Nature129(m): 7:09am On Mar 18, 2016
Most Nigerian govt-owned universities are not made to take in foreign students because they are not originally designed to. Nigeria has a shocking population with over 1million people seeking to gain admission into these schools annually. Nigerian schools can't absorb these people let alone foreigners.

This is why JAMB was created in the first place to reduce the number of "qualified people" that will be gaining admission into school.

Secondly, NUC gives a student admission quota to all schools which means NO school should exceed such figure/quota. Note that ALL new student admission figures are subject to NUC approval in FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES.

Therefore, most of these schools can't even meet the admission needs of Nigerians - the original owners - let alone foreigners. This explains why many youths go to Ghana and South Africa to go to school after trying unsuccessfully to gain admission into Nigerian schools

Anytime any pdp apologist or any Jonathan fan boy comes out to insult buhari or the apc and ask why they have not fixed all of Nigeria's problems in 6 months, the right approach would be always to remind them that pdp and Jonathan caused the problems for 16 years. APC should have no apologies about this.

Keep fooling yourself. We are all in this mess whether you are APC or PDP. They were voted in to solve these problems, so the onus is on us all to compel them to solve these problems. These sufferings are becoming rather unbearable and we must keep them on their toes so that we don't have another Jonathan.
