i can tell you to continue on because the culture where i live permits that but the reality in Nigeria is totally different because the family has a high level of influence regarding what their children do. I say that to say if stay, you won't be accepted by the Christian family who seems to have forgotten the first rule that Christ preach (Love thy neighbor) and you will forever be battling with them.
