I remember telling someone something similar one day. We were talking about how things should be in families where the couples are working and I kept adding "and the wife contributes financially to the running of the home" it annoyed her and she was like why do you keep saying that?

I was like "If you want me to help you do stuffs because you are working too and I am the only one shouldering the financial responsibility then of what use is your job to me?


The wife of my former landlord cheating and made a scene, the side woman got her arrested and the husband refused to bail her. Her daughter bailed her out and she came home caused trouble.

It escalated quickly and her brothers were invited, the woman narrated her own side of the story and when it was the man's turn he said ......

"It's been more than 3 years since last ate the food that was prepared by your sister[didn't say my wife]. She leaves home by 6am and returns by 10pm. All she knows is her business yet I am the one paying for everything down to her transport fare to her shop everyday."

Her brothers were shocked, nobody knows where to start dey make peace.

If you are working but cannot contribute because your money is yours then you are not working as far as I am concerned so you must do what other housewives do.

They can't make a stand against their women, some can't even correct their girlfriends. This is why in some marriages today, the husband must take permission from his wife before inviting a visitor. Note the visitor isn't sleeping over just an ordinary visit.

For me I've made up my mind that if I happen to date any girl holding such believe, that relationship would never graduate to marriage, I'll make sure I end things there.

If women stop cooking, cleaning.. taking care of kids or perform their wifely duties just for 5 days.. most men will pack their load to a beer parlour to drink and smoke away their problems. Men cannot handle 1% of what they dish out.

Maids do this regularly without complaining. So take a chill.

If the wife chooses not to do it, the man can easily hire someone who will. What a lot of men can't handle is when their wives deny them sex. Most would slide into depression.

I'm always amused when grown men troll on Nairaland. They ALWAYS bash their mothers that they're useless instead of looking for something productive to do. It's not as if Seün is paying them for trolling.

That's what I can't seem to wrap my head around. Like you'll spend the whole day opening numerous emails and Nairaland account just to troll someone...hmmm. My best guess is that these guys are being fed by their parents, if not they won't have time for this nonsense.

It's good to hear that work is going well for you. The light situation in this country is nothing to write home about.

My dear...year in year out same darkness. It's now that I'm beginning to pity people whose business depends solely on electricity. They definitely wouldn't be finding it funny this period cos power supply keeps getting worse and more expensive everyday whilst fuel and diesel are gradually getting out of reach of the common man.

Yea... you've always been lucky cos you don't frequent this section so much. More than 90% of the females here had their accounts cloned between late last year and early this year.

Sometimes I just try to imagine how a grown up man with bills to pay would prefer to troll people up and down. I would be like, doesn't this one not have a job or something going in his life that he chooses to just sit here and troll people day and night. People de try sha. 😩
