Show me statements by prominent, respected SW folk either here on NL or in RL against those not protesting.

I'm not talking about idle statements made by random crackpots (of which Yorubaland like any other place has many.)
Who is prominent and who is not?
Are bluetooth, Dayokanu, Rhino (whareva), Negro (whareva) 2mch etc etc (indeed too numerous to mention) not prominent?

What about you already playing politics on this thread (you response are laced with politics)?
PoliticsGej Should Be silly To Rescind The Oil Subsidy Removal by Nchara(op): 7:02pm On Jan 10, 2012
If that is only what he achieves during his regime, he will be remembered for it
He should stick to the decision because it is good for the country
He has the majority in the parliament and impeachment is likely not an option

Let people protest peacefully
Anyone burning or looting should be arrested or shot in the leg (if need be)
There are others not protesting too.

Every swathe of opinions are represented. Democracy at work.

Na wa o

So you think "fuel parasite", "your ethnic group is a parasite because you are protesting" is comparable to this?

I didn't know that appealing to racism, bigotry and crude ethnic sentiment was an acceptable part of playing politics
Comparable to similar statements against those not protesting. I want to believe you too are not suffering from selective amnesia: seeing only those things you like to see.
PoliticsRe: Two-face: ACN governors and leaders secretly want subsidy removal by Nchara(op): 6:56pm On Jan 10, 2012

Why do you think that people will only protest if the ACN tells them to?

It is human nature for people to protest against what they perceive as petrol prices doubling and gov't insensitivity.

In general, big change=>big reaction
And big cover up from the opposition party

We call it being smart, do you think Tinubu is a fool? The Lekki protest was hijacked by PDP goons afterall, opposition parties try as much as possible to profit from the failings of the ruling party believing that people will remember when it comes to voting in leaders.
And what do you call those protesting and getting killed when their leaders are not protesting because they need the money but pretend about it?

GEJ is a "jew man" for those familiar with the slang. That he would allow his "economic team" (otedola & co) bamboozle him into removing the "subsidy" on january 1st 2012 is very annoying and just shows that GEJ was p*ssy.

Nuff said
I do not believe members of the economic team who have oil interests advised that because they gain from the subsidy. If anything, they are the sponsors of the anti-subsidy removal protests.

The subsidy needed to go, anyways.
PoliticsRe: Biafra Liberation Council Gives Muslims & Northerners 7 Day Ultimatum To Leave by Nchara: 6:30pm On Jan 10, 2012
What group is this one? Who do they speak for?
Boko Haram issues an order for southerners to leave the North
Another group issues an order for northerners to leave the south
In truth, many northerners in the SE and SS have already left
They left with their bodies intact: nobody killed them
This is in contrast to what happens in the North where southerners have been killed.

Any Igbo man still staying in the North must be unserious.

And Awolowo (Oba of Yorubas) served under an illiterate northern officer (Gowon)
And Awolowo and the Yorubas joined the North to kill Igbos
And Bakare served Buhari
And Fola Adeola (a seasoned banker) served a mere Police Officer, Ribadu
And Dayokanu is serving me too

Gbawe has said most of what needs to be said.

My own position on the subsidy is well known, at this point. So I don't begrudge anyone who decides not to protest.

The problem I have is that some are:

1) trying to characterize those who are protesting as parasites
2) characterizing entire ethnic groups as parasites based on these protests
3) and trying to play a game of holier-than-thou.

Live and let live. . . if you are for the subsidy-removal, you aren't obliged to protest, and if you are against it, by all means protest.

Freedom of speech, right of assembly, all that jazz.

Just don't play games with the situation.
Fair enough. Let those calling SE not protesting names stop, and we shall stop calling those protesting names.

You dont even know the names of the "so-called" economic team of GEJ and you spend all day long spewing trash and attacking more intelligent forumites blindly? Your case is a pathetic one.

I read in another thread where Blazay was educating your air-head about one Mr.Ifeanyi Mbah. What baffles me was you dont even have an idea of what you have been ranting about and your dwarf IQ'd self will the be first to insult people with more versatile knowledge of political terrain.

Why dont you pick your google search and keep posting trash.

I am surprised that you haven't picked up on the game.

All of these major business moguls are PDP supporters and financiers, to my knowledge.

The relationship between them is symbiotic, not antagonistic.
You are right. At the state level too it is the same
All business moguls at the Lagos state level are ACN-linked
In Anambra if you are not of APGA, forget any business deals with the govt
Same for other states
Isn't that part of what the discourse should then be? How do we sufficiently separate governance from business cronyism?
I am aware that some sort of cronyism goes on even in the US govt, but we all know how accountable those guys are compared to Naija politicians.

Well keep your undernourished mentality and your view that Jonathan is a fool because Otedola is Yoruba. ROTFLMAO. What do you want to do about it? Nothing? grin cheesy.
You see, you are defending Otedola's stay in the economic team just because he is Yoruba. You do not care about the clash of interest. Shame on your rabid tribalism.

Please I don't want to be caught discussing with you. Just go away.

Apologise to all the Yoruba's on Nairaland. You have just been schooled in Nigerian politics. Tell your SE people to get wise and fight for tomorrow. Our politicians dont care about our little tribalistic outburst. That is for poor people to justify their poverty. Emancipate yourself from mental slavery. Open a thread and apologize. Then you will be taken seriously on Nairaland. Otherwise, you have lost all credibility with your poor man mentality.
You will wait forever for that apology. Read my lips. Credibility on nairaland? I DEY LAUGH OHHHHH
What matters is my credibility in real life and I have that in excess. Now go chop ewa and ogi.

Is your recent outburst against Jonathan because Otedola is Yoruba? Is it paining you that your tribalistic outburst means nothing to politicians? So because a Yoruba is the head of the economic team you have a change of heart? Nchara the predictable bingo. rotflmao. What happened to SS and SE solidarity.
Otedola is just a member of the team. He is nowhere near being the head which is Ngozi (an Igbo)

It makes sense that people with economic interest should not be managing policies that will affect their interest. It is clear where their loyalty will lie

There are other economically sound SW people that can take the place of Otedola
Same goes for Dangote and any Igbo man with interest in the economy. They all should not be at the core of an economic team

Stop being mired in tribalism, okay?
PoliticsRe: Why SE People Are Not Really Interested In Oil Protest (imo) by Nchara(op): 4:58pm On Jan 10, 2012
These are my own opinions

Other SE people who don't want the protest should contribute their own reasons
Others who want the protest should also say their mind
It is a free world out there.
PoliticsWhy SE People Are Not Really Interested In Oil Protest (imo) by Nchara(op): 4:57pm On Jan 10, 2012
A number of SE people are protesting both in other regions and in their region, but clearly the bulk of the people are not interested in protesting

Why?

Firstly:

The fuel subsidy removal is a good idea (hopefully the money realized from it is used wisely and smartly) and the people understand the merits.

Secondly:

Despite two SE states being oil-producing
Despite Anambra being oil and gas bearing (for which production will start anytime)
Despite the sacrifice of Ndigbo in Nigeria
How much federal infrastructure is in the East?
We have nothing concrete from the feds, almost everything in Igboland is private
The Niger bridge is falling, the feds are looking the other way
Apparently we are not equal stakeholders in the Nigerian enterprise
Nigerian protests are always destructive; that is not how protests should be
So you want protesters to destroy the private businesses of other persons who have no hand in what is being protested?
The West and North have all the federal presence so they can destroy some during the protest and still have enough left
Countable times I hear people of SW and northern origin say SE can never rule Nigeria.
That Nigeria belongs to them to take turns
And you want us to die for the same country?
Yet Nigeria has been largely misruled all these years
Should not those who have (mis)ruled fix their mess and let their people protest the ill?
Buhari was oil minister, then Head of State,  then PTF Head
Obasanjo was president
Under these people and others before and after them, what happened to the refineries?

Jonathan is here trying to fix what mess he can that the North and SW former leaders made
Jonathan is not even from the SE and all hell is being let loose on SE people?
It is good for the Igbos not to produce a president
But it is good for them to join a protest, especially against their own circumstances
Why is Tinubu (ACN) not on the street?

When you love me, I love you back. Isn't that how things work?

Written in a hurry; would fix any typos later.

Are these the people that want southern Nigeria? Count Yoruba out of that Southern bull poo*te. These peeps will take us back to horse and carriage and lighting fires with rocks. Too much tribal sentiments blind them on what is good for them. Its ok though, their voice is not needed. Majority carry the vote and majority are protesting. Just dont whine when people do not vote for an Igbo president. Think about today when you start to whine. Everyone wants a progressive and the party (PDP) yoour APGA aligns with is dead now. tongue
Nobody wants southern Nigeria: you guy's shenanigans are just too much

Those tribalizing it are those insisting that SE should protest and destroy properties against their will. And when they do not, they are being called names
I thought it was a free world where you have a right to choose and not to choose what is important for you?

If you call me names for not protesting, I call you names for protesting. That is fair, no?

Those making these foolish comments do not want to acknowledge the 1000s of SE people living and protesting in the SW and North?
PoliticsRe: Why Is The Protest So Intense In The West And North? Why Are They Bitter? by Nchara: 4:25pm On Jan 10, 2012
You guys are speaking grammar
If you claim the SE has no oil
Please allow resource control
Let every state manage their resources
Let's see who blinks first

How many SE states are on that list?

I hear/read that Otedola is in the presidential economic team. Is this true?
Why does Jonathan have members of the oil cabal as members of his economic team?
What does he think they will do when policies against their oil businesses are being promoted?
Is Jonathan a fool?
