Date of application and decision date: Applied Nov 24. Got admission Jan 12, got funding decision March 17.

Wright State University with Tuition scholarship of $1,250 per semester for 4 semesters provided GPA is >= 3.0....bla bla. It doesn't look like a good option, cos d money no reach anywhere . TAMUK offer seems better.

Then Denial;
Wayne State University. Reason was that they don't admit candidates without BS Mechanical Engineering into their MS Mechanical Engineering program. They advised me to apply for MS in Chemical or Material Engineering program instead......nothing much was lost as app fee was waived for me when I applied.

Decision from d main schools are still pending...

Good morning house, a quick update. I've received 3 decisions out of 4 applications:

Tennessee Tech: Admitted; admission letter was sent early this morning and funding decision will be known in the last week of March.
Michigan Tech: Denied . The email just dropped. Reason for denial: "There currently is no advisor available in your specified area of interest"
Clarkson Uni: Admitted (This is a private school though): Some funding was provided actually but not enough, so I may have to decline.

Still waiting on Mississippi State Uni.

Okay, seems like different departments, different MO. So now we wait, pray and hope for the best

I have to apply based on the reply I got, the person that replied me even said it might be up to July before decisions are announced as usually get their funds late.
It might be peculiar to my department though since the person I mailed works in the ECE department.

Oh okay, I wasn't aware that he applied for an MSc; indeed PhDs get priority for funding. No wahala, thank you and fingers crossed

I sent an email yesterday inquiring about the need to make a separate application for an assistantship position in Tennessee Tech, and she was quick to respond as follows: "Thank you for your inquiry about the EVS PhD assistantships. I believe you have been recommended for an assistantship, but no decisions will be made until the EVS PhD Graduate Review Committee meet on March 23rd. We should have their recommendations by March 24th. We are also waiting on possible State Legislature funds to become available". Basically, by month end, there should be an update regarding that.
Now I wouldn't know if this is peculiar to the department I'm applying to or it cuts across board. Did you get a response yet?

I was told I'd need to do so by Colorado State and on checking Tennessee Tech's website, I noticed I'd also need to apply as well (the deadline for ECE Fall 2017 is March 15). Nope, you do not need a visa for transit, as you just stay at the airport to wait for your connecting flight. So you're good.
