I'm yet to go for mine as well but I think your response to "what's the usefulness of this course to you" was too generic and complicated. You answered without actually telling the VO what the degree will do for you. Smithsydny's response was spot on. Convince him/her that you need that degree to come back and solve a particular problem in Nigeria/take up a lecturing job as smithsydny has said.
I'd advice you book quickly oh because July spots are filling out quickly. Success dear!!!

so if I am reapplying, what's the step I should take to have a smooth application process and interview. I am so in a dilemma

Oh wow, it shouldn't have any implications really since it wasn't revoked but then and again, only the VO can say why. Don't be deterred, refire and apply again. All the best dear.
Temitope746:
this cancel without prejudice was on my visa to Italy, which was approved by the italian embassy. I realise they made a mistake in visa type. So I am confuse why it should cause a denial in my US visa. This is my first time of been refuse visa and my first time of applying to the US. I have my assistantship letter and all. But she didn't even requested it.

Seen. Thank you very much.
biikeys:

Google "cancelled without prejudice"..It's standard procedure. You answer should be 'No' based on this.

Thank you very much for your prompt response and enjoy the rest of your day.
abujaniv:
Hello Ndawe. The answer should be "no." This question refers to when a person is given a valid visa and it is subsequently taken away, usually due to some malfeasance or improper use. This is shown physically with the CANCELLED stamp. Cancelled Without Prejudice (CWOP) just means that the old visa is expired.

Good morning VO I'm currently reviewing my DS-160 form in preparation for submission and there's a question which asks if your U.S Visa has ever been cancelled or revoked? Now, after I renewed, one of my previous B1/B2 visas was stamped with "cancelled without prejudice" upon its expiration and subsequent renewal. So which is the appropriate answer to the question now, do I answer no cancellation or yes cancelled without prejudice and explain in the box provided?
cc: abujaniv
Thanks

@Time2Smile, after exhaustively digesting your post on how to get high gre scores. I can't help but pay obeisance for a well crafted work and great strides acheived. I am opinionated of the great resourcefulness of the post, nevertheless I am quite nonplussed and vacillated about how long it took to secure admission with funding, considering your excellence gre scores. I do have the profound and recondite belief that superb scores in the gre and toefl tests coupled with good gpa score should suffice enough for admission and funding, now my precept wavers since it seems likely that arduous stress is reqiured for admission and funding even with excellent scores. I would be most gracious if you can pedantically extirpate why this is so, as you have always munificently do. Once, again congratulations on your admission to one of the most prestigious university. Thanks, in anticipation.
Loool. Oga, you wan use us practice your GRE vocab? Chill abeg and a couple of the words were used out of context. Calm down biko

You deserve it dear, saying I'm happy for you is an understatement. Exactly, I came here to actually inquire about re-taking the GRE and Oludare01 took it upon himself personally, like it was his own journey to make sure I tried as much as possible. Ah, I've made a new friend for life here in him and can't wait to meet him grin. Information is so powerful and we also can't overemphasize the importance of the help of those who have gone before us to keep this thread going. Cheers and I wish us all the best.

I am really smitten by everyone's good wishes, Thank you all. I have a lot to share which I would do in due time. Congratulations to seeker88 and Ndawe.

Ndawe's story is particularly sweet, I think she came here initially looking to rewrite the GRE, now she has 2 funded offers using her previous scores. It shows the power of information and threads like this.(Shout out to Oludare01). I hope we all continue contributing.

I just hope Scholastica16 would post his success story soon, we started this together and the thread is better with with him on board.

I guess that is it from me for this application season.

I have been accepted to the Molecular and Cell Biology PhD program of The University of Texas at Dallas with a Graduate Tuition Scholarship that covers all tuition and fees. In addition, I will receive a very generous stipend through Graduate Teaching Assistantship.

I only contacted the Graduate coordinator on April 14 and submitted my application on May 1st when the schools were trying to play cello with my future.

I appreciate everyone that has been asking after my application status. It has been arduous, but the difficulty pales in comparison to the sweet taste of success. For those still expecting a decision, don't lose hope. #TeamFall2017 Yes we can.

Good morning house. So I've finally received a decision from Mississippi State Uni and my funding came through yesterday. PhD in Chemistry(fall 2017), full ride.
Update: Also full funding has come in from Tennessee Tech and I have the luxury of making a choice now. For those still awaiting decisions, please do not give up just yet; that's why I'm providing these updates. Delay is not denial. I wish us all the best

You're welcome. Any organization should do and preferably through someone you know personally, so you can get it as soon as it has been sent.
temi4fash:

Thanks for the heads up..

I have been thinking about it too..

Any organisation would do or must it be a particular one
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by Ndawe(f): 11:20am On Jun 13, 2017
Just like you, my school doesn't hand out transcripts to individuals. So I had mine sent to an organization via email, the recipient then forwarded it to me and that's what I used for my applications. I don't think it makes sense to pay each time for a transcript, especially when you can use an unofficial one to apply.
Cheers.

Good morning house. So I've finally received a decision from Mississippi State Uni and my funding came through yesterday. PhD in Chemistry(fall 2017), full ride.
Ndawe:
Good morning house, a quick update. I've received 3 decisions out of 4 applications:

Tennessee Tech: Admitted; admission letter was sent early this morning and funding decision will be known in the last week of March.
Michigan Tech: Denied sad. The email just dropped. Reason for denial: "There currently is no advisor available in your specified area of interest"
Clarkson Uni: Admitted (This is a private school though): Some funding was provided actually but not enough, so I may have to decline.

Still waiting on Mississippi State Uni.
