What is buhari's opinion about this? if Jonathan can reside in the building, up till now, I see no reason why Buhari can't move in after a cleanup.

What would those who manipulate the media have said had Jonathan carried out a renovation earlier... wouldn't they shout corruption? let's even say if Jonathan won the election, and decides to renovate, will the media hawks not shout corruption?

I just hope we don't reduce the level of expectation with this coming government.

Ndcide... No one says you shouldn't critic the manifesto but for any action there's always an intention. The intention of this guy is not for national development, it is to create strife, personal benediction and to pass on misinformations all in the name of criticising.

If he is truly concerned about Nigeria and Nigerians. He would have stayed independent after having whatever misunderstanding or even if he didn't believe in the Apc cause anymore..

Can you imagine someone who said pdp had killed millions of Nigerians, cause untold hardship, wide spread unemployment and so many ills just a few months back which is true to now go back on this STATEMENT of FACT to say the pdp is the best thing that happened since slice bread and Nigerians have had it so good is not only callous but mind boggling.

Such a person has not only failed himself but has failed the TRUTH and millions of CITIZENS who wallow in abject poverty daily under the governance of the pdp and yearn for the desired change.

It's a simple fact that he has not a single shred of integrity and has no moral justification whatsoever to write anything as regards the welfare of the citizens he just told are LIARS and that they live in heaven as opposed to the ruins they find themselves under pdp.

He would do well for us to please keep his DIRTY MOUTH SHUT because someone who never believed in the fight of the poor/Nigerians has no right to aspire to speak on their behalf. Is action can only be compared to HITLER standing up and trying to speak on behalf of jews for justice. That's sacrilegous.
You are quite brilliant, You know why I can't agree with you? It's because you and many others agreed with OBJ when he attacked Jonathan. My friend was on radio here in Lagos, saying we should take the message and forget the messenger.

Will you honestly apply your statement above on OBJ? especially before the election? Facts and truth can take different dimensions depending on how you look at it.

I have a very fundamental question on your defense for him: Which his 2 different positions below is true and which is false?

1. Since he has been on NL until recently, he has vigorously stated that Jonathan and PDP has failed Nigerians by all indices base on the things they have done in the past 6yrs and the last 16yrs.

OR

2. The recent criticisms based on the assumptions that Buhari who is yet to be sworn in, will fail in the future.

Which of his 2 different positions above is true and which is false?
1,it is absolutely false to say that Jonathan has failed Nigerians in all indices of governance. In fact, his government have been the most progressive Democratic administration we have had in nigeria , relative to the times we are in. There are shortcomings though, but saying outright failure, You should know that is false if you want to be sincere. That statement is one of the statement used to manipulate the people to have a pseudo sense of dissatisfaction against the government or even a feeling of despondency. the objective is to get votes. You and barcanista know this.

2, I don't think he said Buhari will fail. however, other people responded that way. for an open mind, he is bringing the issues of policies of a coming government to public attention and asking relevant questions; (The How?) Anything wrong with that?. He has a right to be pessimistic. Like I said before, like it or not, the promises made by APC will shape political discussions throughout Nigeria at least till December 2015. You may not be comfortable with this, but trust me I have discussed with lots of political analysts and they are poised to engage the coming government.

YES you are right. Nigeria as never been divided as it was at the last election?. Yes.
The question should now be. who divided us? And the answer should be jonathan and his pdp cohort.
They are the one who played tribal and religious politics and am sure if you followed the dramas as they unfolds during the campaign period, do to their unguided utterance, can you imagine a president of a nation saying a section of the countary is his backbone and his vice accuseing their competitor of selecting a pastor as his running mate. Let call a spade a spade. I am a yoruba and i dont care what others might label me as long as my conscience is clear, and i dont like people calling each others name, and i dont know why you people called anybody names because they are members of a particular party that you dont like. And I hate my language being called names because they make the perfect political decision at a time when all institutions of the government are underperforming. And you guys failed to understand one thing 2011 election was anti north while 2015 election was to rescue nigeria from the thieves.
You have some good point but look at it this way.
- Jonathan never divided this country rather those who want his sit divided the country right from 2011.
those who didn't want him to run for president, Those who said they'll make the country ungovernable, those who went on a killing spree after the election results were announced, those who engaged in bombings of polich HQ, UN building to destroy the government, those who attacked churches every Sunday with bombs, those in government who used the instruments and cover of government to support bokoharam (senator ndume), those who kill people everyday, bombed everywhere whenever the President wants to go for a function, those made kabiru sokoto to disappear from police custody after being arrested for mandala church bombing and later found in Bornu state government house, those who told us that an attach against book haram is war against the north, those who said proscription of Bokoharam as a territories organization is wrong, whose who made our army unpatriotic and made them not to fight up north , that lots of southern soldiers were drafted up north to fight bokoharam, those who did not support their president in trying times but used the media against him, calling him clueless, kindergarten President, those who kidnapped chobok girls simply to undermine the President, those who kept quiet when only Churches were being attacked but shouted when there were no more churches to attack and they became attacked, those who brew falsehood and propaganda so as to bring down the President, those who issues press releases telling us that power must return to the north, or any northerner who voted for Jonathan was against the north and shall be attacked.... etc. etc. etc. These are the ones who divided the country. Others mainly reacted to them. What you see during the campaign was reactionary.

On the Igbo being the backbone of his administration. That may not be too right. But I'm from the SS. but trust me the Igbo really supported Jonathan. When others insulted him everyday in the media and refused to see his travails, the Igbo stood by him. Check any Igbo that was close to Jonathan and you'll agree that they were his backbone. It is normal to love those who love you also. You will do the same.... I think he was right even though, it was offensive to some people.

Jonathan have done his bit, arguably as a war time President who with his weakness was also greatly misunderstood. Let the next man do his bit too. But we should not kill the truth.

The issue is not about him going back to his vomit, rather, it's about him being uncouth and stupidly blind. Buhari and APC has not been sworn in, yet he has started vituperating and ventilating his mismanaged anger against APC and Buhari. To me, he could have soft-pedal as a result of the outcome of the elections or better still, wait for the time Buhari would start governing...

His actions are premeditated and incongruous
he is at liberty to react the way he likes. however, I replied that thread, that I would have loved him to wait. however nothing wrong with what he did.

he was simply discussing policy issues as it relates to APC. It's not early to remind APC that we have not forgotten and we will hold them on their promises. Nothing wrong in it. Only that APC supporters don't like to be on the defence.

like it our not.his points are the issues for today "the hows?"

Bombings at sabongari beheading of southerners in Maiduguri etc. Tell us what you think about the statement of the Oba of Lagos.

To all those Pessimists/PDP supporters wishing/praying for Buhari to fail you should know that "Impossible means nothing to a very focused man". There was a time when State Governments couldn't generate up to 10million IGR for the whole year (Lagos inclusive) until some right thinking and smart people did the right things.

I saw a report in the papers and on TV last week that Lagos State IGR is now in the region of 23 BILLION (TWENTY THREE BILLION!!) MONTHLY.

Now whoever thought Lagos could generate such huge sums? The money has been there all along but it wasn't properly harnessed.

We all keep labeling Nigeria as a Potential Super Power -Economic wise but despite this potentials, we haven't amounted to anything because of lack of political will of those in government.

I believe Buhari will do well.
I believe it will not be business as usual for those running the country down economically.
I believe some you praying for the down fall of the incoming Government will be alive to see the greatness of these great nation.
I believe the Poster and some of the "PDP never see anything good in buhari" people will soon eat their words and run away with their tails between their legs in shame as the man Buhari puts this country on the path of greatness again.

Just my 2 cents.
No one is wishing buhari fails. No ! The political atmosphere in Nigeria have changed. If you think the level of political discussion in this dispensation will be like that of 1999, Then you're probably asleep.

Wake up ! the bar have been raised. If APC hopes to campaign in 2019 with what they said in 2015. well, they may have to use more than "Lagoon" and "bokoharam" to make any headway.

Bacanista, thanks for this post. I remember telling folks in my Ajah area about what you just posted before the election. I even gave estimate of cost implications just as you have done. You know what ; They were just giving disjointed responses just as they are doing now on this forum. That Buhari will block the holes of corruption in government and get funds for the over ambitious campaign promises.

I just have to let things be as they just wanted another face in Aso rock. no more, no less.

What I know is that we shall not reduce the expectations because it's buhari. The easier excuse is to tell us that PDP damaged the country so much that they need more time. We shall not accept that.

PDP does not need to do any opposition. We Nigerians will put this coming government to task and they'll deliver or die.

Buhari cannot be running for President since 2003 to 2015 and be acting as if he does not have an idea or plan. Then why was he running to be President?

It's like a guy wooing a girl in 2003, the girls said No. he tried in 2007, the girl also said No, he returned in 2011 weeping and the girl insist on No. Then in 2015 he returned and then the girl is manipulated to accept.
Thereafter, the man can't perform. God forbid such tragedy

The most interesting part is that they can't calculated how much the rivers state governor Amaech have donated to them as some funds were trapped in Akwa ibom state.

And I see some people making light of it by bringing PDP into it, others are deliberately derailing the thread to change the trajectory of the topic with advertorial.

I think, This is the level of corruption in APC that is not in government yet. Rivers people should not forgive the infinitely corrupt governor Amaechi who spent Rivers state resources on external politics rather that delivering dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

That APC and their supporters see nothing wrong in this but point at PDP, is the greatest tragedy of Nigeria of today.

QuotaSystem:
You need to delineate and differentiate internal democracy from general democracy. General democracy are the votes of the majority of Nigerian people across 4 of the 6 regions that put the officials in power, internal democracy is within the working committee of the party which determines appointments after extensive consultations. Democracy is therefore present at all levels, and your assertion is therefore invalid.

See we can argue on technicalities here till dawn, but the basic fact is that some regions voted as a bloc, and as such should not be surprised at bloc appointments. No apologies should be expected either.
But that was what some of you accused the out going President of? Some voted against him claiming he was acting as a regional president. some wrote articles "their son, our President"; some where offended that he said the Igbo people were the pillar of his government, Others accused him of not favouring the north in the military some said he ignored the SW in major appointments etc.

From what you just said, Is the APC government about to do what the accused Jonathan of?
