manny4life: I'm sure Peter Obi is happy at what he has reduced APGA and Anambra to, this is woeful. The prof was right, the Anambra leaders actions depicts shamelessness and lack of regard. At this point, I will stick with Ifeanyi Ubah, he isn't the best, but he's better than Ngige.
You unfortunately ignored the wisdom of Pat Utomi by your choice of Ubah. Dis you miss this statement? "Ifeanyi’s passion for his people should hold Chris accountable to do a good job before the younger man goes forward." Utomi rightfully believes that Ubah is not ready for the job, but should be ready by the end of Ngige's term.

Ojuyobo didn't have to rub it in like this.

According to this report:

According to publicly available information, Mr. Okio was arrested on Saturday April 28 , by officials of the Special Investigation Bureau (SIB) of the Nigeria Police and summarily taken to Yenagoa, where he is being detained in solitary confinement over his comments --- comments deemed critical of poor governance, corruption, and the hubris and excesses of government offici

9jacrip: We are talking about the northerners from executive, senate, house of reps to religious arm to mention a few.
If the people who cut across every face of government can all vehemently and repeatedly fight against a particular thing and even using inciting statements over it while the masses over there are not putting them in check then it has gone beyond 'elite'. It is what holds in the North and quit trying to downplay what everyone knows with 'elite' and 'racist'.
If you are talking about politicians then make that very clear. Stop using the word 'Northerners' loosely lest you sound like a bigoted racist. Given your clarification, I submit to you that Northern politicians are no worse or better than their counterparts from the South. Don't get it twisted buddy. We are currently in a free for all looting mode, by all the mofos.

A thief is a thief is a thief, regardless of his or her tribe.

9jacrip: When a region is putting little to nothing on the table but expecting to get as much if not equal to the region bearing the burden for all.

When a region is strictly against resource control and won't even let the owners of these resources get larger percentage from the resource(s) returns?

The above to mention a few is what you call what? cool
I can easily conclude from your post that you are a prejudist racist as well. As I told Madam before you, leave Northerners and the region at large out of the list of your thieves. The only people robbing you blind and garnishing your resources are the elite who hail from every region of the country. abi you are a learner ni?

When it is time to get votes they are quick to whip up religious sentiments. My brother worked closely with one of the Northern governors and the stories he told me .... mehn na die!
This post is very disappointing. Millions of honest people make up the Northerners. Why call these people thieves when only a handful of them and their southern counterparts are the biggest thieves. Why didn't you call Southerners the biggest thieves as well. You, madam, are a prejudist racist.

Katsumoto: This doesn't even make sense Alhaji. grin

Who has been feeding fat on oil from the Niger Delta while their constituents are dying from polio, aren't going to school,, and are getting married at 9 years old? And who from the North is speaking for this disadvantaged people? Is it thieves like IBB, Atiku, or Gowon who went on record to state that the life of a child in Kano is not as valuable as the life of a child in the US in a bid to justify his egunge from Pfizer?
Once again you ara talking about the thieving elite and politicians who along with their counterparts in the SW belong in jail. 90% of Northerners are not guilty of your accusation.

Let me also reming you that there was a time when kano groundnuts fed you people, but thats another story.

You know very well my comment refers to Northern elite. There is a reason why the rate of illiteracy is high in the North, its cos the elite don't want the advancement of the common man. You are likely to be part of the Northern elite; don't get it twisted Alhaji.
That's the point. You peole are elitists who do not care about the wishes of the 100million plus moral majority of Nigerians.
Politics › Re: Do You Think Dividing Nigeria Will Solve Our Problems? by nduchucks: 7:53pm On Oct 27, 2013
shymexx: Well, if you actually took time out to do the survey objectively by judging based on the consciousness of ordinary Nigerians - and stop posting based on what you're paid for to do. You would know that ordinary Nigerians are tired of Nigeria and they all align with their identity/ethnicity, rather than the Nigerian nationality. Suffice to say most prefer disintegration but just don't know how to go about it.

Exhibit 1: ordinary Nigerians would rather vote en masse for someone they share the same/similar ethnicity with rather than some from the other side e.g. GEJ, Buhari etc. regardless of how qualified/unqualified the person is.

Exhibit 2 : any attack whatsoever on elected/public officials from their ethnic group (regardless of the crime(s) the person commits) from opposing groups is seen as an attack on them. We can cite gazillion of examples to buttress this exhibit. Hence why the elites are always quick to hide behind their ethnicity whenever they're guilty of any crime.

Exhibit 3: ordinary Nigerians are territorial and they abhor people from opposing ethnicities laying claims to what they see as their own.

Exhibit 4: ordinary Nigerians would rather be around, or marry people from the same ethnicity - than opposite groups.

That's how you do a proper survey. Ponder on that and use your brain cells!
A can assure you that you are one of the elite Nigerians. Your frame of reference is too narrow. Everything you itemized above applies to the oyibo people who are your idols in the UK. Think about it.
Politics › Re: National Confab: Why We Won’t Discuss Breaking Up Nigeria By Sen. Femi Okurounmu by nduchucks: 7:46pm On Oct 27, 2013
Katsumoto: The reason Northerners don't want Nigeria to break up is because of the over reliance on revenues on oil. You stated that the conference should discuss regionalism and resource control of ON-SHORE resources. By explicitly stating ON-SHORE oil, you are alluding to off-shore resources not belonging to the regions closest to off-shore resources.
Your preconceived notion of who constitue Northerners is erroneous. Northerners are much more than the thieving elite and politicians just as Southwesterners are not limited to the thieving elite and politicians of the SW. I wholeheartedly agree with you that these thieving elite and politicians from the North, East, West, and South, collectively do not want Nigeria to breakup.

Please desist from lumping these thieves with the ordinary Northerner or Southerner who is primarily concerned with providing for his/her family. I find your generalization 'racist' and insulting.
Politics › Re: Where Is Prof Soyinka by nduchucks: 7:32pm On Oct 27, 2013
One hopes that Soyinka's error of making the following, frankly unbecoming statement, “People said I call her a domestic appendage, what’s the problem with that? What’s the problem with Madam Shepopotamus?” has not done him in.

He belittled himself by getting into a public fight with the first lady. It is likely that the shame of the whole affair has made him go into hibernation.
Politics › Re: Do You Think Dividing Nigeria Will Solve Our Problems? by nduchucks: 7:23pm On Oct 27, 2013
If you people are serious, you'd organize and commission a survey of ordinary Nigerians who make up the moral majority. We all know the answer to your question when the elite Nigerians with the capabilities to access NL, answer the question. I wouldn't put my money on rable rousers and internet warriors like, say, Shymexx, to organize a doggone thing, however. I know, cheap shot. cheesy
Politics › Re: National Confab: Why We Won’t Discuss Breaking Up Nigeria By Sen. Femi Okurounmu by nduchucks: 6:01pm On Oct 27, 2013
OAM4J: I don't know why you and these "power brokers" are afraid of the question. It is not likely majority will agree that we break up, but for the record we need to have it documented that we Nigerians agreed to live together so we dont keep telling our children's children that one Lugard or A country called Britain forced us to live together. That agreement document is key and very important for our Nationhood.
You don't get it, do you? No one is asking Okurounmu and his team the question, so why entertain it when there are other more important issues to discuss.
Politics › Re: National Confab: Why We Won’t Discuss Breaking Up Nigeria By Sen. Femi Okurounmu by nduchucks: 5:59pm On Oct 27, 2013
Katsumoto: That there is the reason why Northerners don't want Nigeria to break up.

Most Nigerians can't stand other Ethnic Groups but you want Nigeria to exist at all costs. I am not for disintegration but I most heartedly hate the reasons why disintegration is off the table.
I don't get you. What is the reason Northerners don't want Nigeria to break up? Please clarify your statement.

The bolded can only come from elitists who think only Nigerians in their 'high class' count. I submit to you that there exists over 100 million ordinary Nigerians who do not have any problem with other ethnic groups like you internet folks. The people I run into, business partners, colleques, from multiple geopolitical zone cooperate with each other, intermarry, and love each other. This hatred displayed on NL is exibited, as stated by Okurounmu, by fringe groups and frustrated diaspora residents.
