Family › Re: Banned From Speaking My Language To My Baby by nduchucks: 12:05am On Nov 10, 2013
kendraloops: I'm so so so very angry this evening. I've been having this issue with hubby for a while now, used to think he was kidding but this evening just confirmed it for me.

I'm Yoruba n he's Esan from Edo state. He speaks yoruba very very fluently even better than me, he teaches me proverbs n all sometimes sef. But anytime I speak yoruba to our baby, he gets irritated kind of n says' my son is an Esan man, stop speaking yoruba to him'.

We had a major row over it this evening again. Don't I count in the boy's life? What's the biggie in him learning how to speak yoruba?
No time to read all the comments. My suggestion to you is to note that it is most unhealtly for a baby to be raised in an environment where you and your hubby constantly bicker and fight over, of all things, speaking your language to your child. For your child's welfare and that of your marriage, I'd suggest that for now, you stop speaking the language to your baby while your hubby is arround. But make it a point to continue to speak the language to your child on a daily basis.

This way, you kill 2 birds with a stone smiley

One day the child will say to his dad "baba mo love yin gan" (baba I love you very much), let's see whether the insecure man will disown the child afterward.

tomakint: Supreme Court will not be that stupid Ndu! Oyinlola was relieved of his post by an appellate court of the land in a justifying way, he sued them for redress claiming he was unjustly outed, now an appellate court had granted him his wish, a Supreme Court of the land will not be that stupid to tow the path of those nPDP marauders Ndu!
Lawless folks who intend to break the law by saying that court rulings are stu pid or silly belong in jail. In the case of GEJ, if he ignores a supreme court ruling, he will pay dearly. As I said earlier, you all better hope that the supreme court does not rule against you.

DerideGull: All these frivolous law suits in Nigeria stemming from disagreements with political party memebers tend to corrupt the judiciary system in my view.
The lawsuits are not frivolous. You people should learn to respect and obey the laws of the land. You and GEJ have no option in this case but to obey the impending supreme court ruling. GEJ and Tukur may very well end up being the leaders of nPDP, in what will be a remarkable turn of events.

tomakint: You still don't grab Ndu, Jonathan needs loyalists within his camp, not some set of 'double agents' like Oyinlola, Oni, Amaechi etc the die is cast already, there is no looking back! No, not your Buhari's version of 'Dogs and Baboons will be soaked in their blood'!
Indeed GEJ needs loyalists just as the other PDP leaders need loyalists. You are making my point for me - when the supreme court reinstates Oyinlola, GEJ will be done for. That is, unless he wishes to defy a supreme court order and risk consequences such as impeachment.
Politics › Re: Ngige Leads Other Candidates In Pre-election Poll by nduchucks:
When Supreme Court last Monday, upheld the verdict of the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt Division, which declared Tony Nwoye as the valid flag bearer of the PDP, it essentially rendered Obi's candidate less likely to succeed.

Given Ngige's performance at the debates and the fact that electorates will now have to choose between 3 'credible' candidates instead of 2, Ngige seems to have a much better chance of winning. If Obi plans to rig, he'll have to contend with the PDP machinery and the courts.

Congrats to Nigerians including GEJ who provided an enabling environment for the success of the Eaglets.

Haveing said that, I must add that the laptop crew is exergetrating just a bit. I will start taking you people seriously when you can honestly admit a single mistake of GEJ's or when you are fired from your paying PR jobs, whichever happens first. Politics › Re: PDP Goes To Supreme Court Against Oyinlola by nduchucks: 12:11am On Nov 09, 2013
DerideGull: Courts can not force individual on a group of people. Olagunsoye Oyinlola can not be a National Secretary of the political party when the party members do not want him in that capacity.
Mr. Gull, I think you should educate yourself about the political process in Nigeria before making patently false statements like the one above. If the courts cannot do what you inferred, why do you think there has been a court case in the first place? If the lawsuit were frivolous it would have been thrown out by now.

For you sake and for the sake of your dear party PDP/APGA, you better hope that the supreme court does not rule against PDP. My sources say that even the supreme court is tired of the clueless one and his accompanying needful doers. The court is poised to reinstate Oyinlola.

When that happens, even you should start considering joining Buhari and APC.

Keneking: ok- but why did he run back? Was it for him to finish his piece of weed or something? Why is he bearing Vongatu? Is he a child from asian parentage? How is he a Nigerian? Just black skin and big lips I suppose.
Show some compassion. Is that the only reason for running back into the building that you could have come up with? BTW Vongtau is a name born by middle belters.

You don't come across as a typical Nigerian sir, if I may say so.
Education › Nigerian Student Rescued After Being Trapped Between 2 Walls For 72 Hours by nduchucks(op): 2:13pm On Nov 08, 2013
Not sure where to post this, but we thank God for saving this boy's life.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- A 19-year-old New York University student is recovering after being stuck in a two-foot gap between an NYR dorm and a garage.

Vongtau was conscious and talking to fire fighters as he was being wheeled away to an ambulance. For almost two days, the NYU student was trapped between a parking garage and an 18 story apartment building. The area where Vogntau was found is a space between two walls only two feet wide.

Firefighters had to break through a cinderblock wall in the parking garage to reach Vogntau. The rescue information lasted an hour and a half and not a moment too soon for Vogntau.

Vogntau disappeared early Saturday morning. Someone pulled the fire alarm in his NYU apartment building. Friends said when everyone was leaving the apt building, they noticed Vogntau running back in and that was the last time he was seen.

His friends got worried after he was a no call, no show. They went door to door asking people. They also say they tried to file a missing person's report with police, but were told Vogntau had to be missing for at least 72 hours. Finally they suggested NYU security check the roof of the building. They looked over the edge and saw Vogntau wedged between two walls.

It's believed Vongtau may have fallen through a 5th floor window, but for now it's just a theory in a bizarre accident that left an NYU student in a precarious position for nearly two days in the cold.

From the records Coscharis Motors delivered to the NCAA two nos armoured BMW cars with chassis number DW68032 and DW68044, Coscharis may have to explain the ownership and whereabout of the third armoured car with chassis number DW68047, since neither of the three armoured cars had approval.
These investigating dummies do not know the difference between Chassis number (VIN number), which contains 17 characters, and an Engine Number. What they are calling chassis number is actually engine number. Who knows what else they are screwing up in their report.

DerideGull: No, I am not in the mode of dishing out insults but will not tolerate goofiness. I really meant what I wrote about your despicable shortfalls on the knowledge of crude oil exploration in Nigeria. Shell D’arcy Headquarter was at Owerri until the end of civil war when it was moved to Lagos. When crude oil was struck in commercial quantity in Olobiri in 1956, this discovery was followed equally by the oil fields at Owaza in Asa and Bori in khana.
Slowly but surely, the real reason for your stance is being revealed. So you have been harbouring disdain about crude oil since we prevented you from running off with the zone, oil and all, ko?

0monnakoda: What constitutional principle are you referrring to EXACTLY. Rather than talk arrogantly as if you know everything can you subject your claim to to analysis and scrutiny. Hear yourself! "you should be trying to show why this ban is not unconstitutional"? Funny. You are the one saying it is unconstitutional so the onus is on you.

You show how it is unconstitutional. What part of the constitution is breached exactly.

Is it unconstitutional to ban Okada ?
This is not about being arrogant, I'm just not very friendly with intellectual laziness.

You may want to start with Chapter IV of the constitution (Fundamental rights). You may find these sections of that chapter instructive, for starters:

34 Right to dignity of human persons.
35 Right to personal liberty.
41 Right to freedom of movement
37 Right to private and family life

If we're to go by the unverified statistics that Igbos represent about 45% of Lagos, if this be the case, by the time you account for other minorities voting GEJ, wouldn't Lagos be lost to GEJ at the end of the day?
This post is preposterous!! Who are you to incinuate that the herd mentality is the order of the day in Igbo communities outside of Igboland? Why do you assume that Igbos in Lagos and elsewhere do not have independent minds and must follow the voting patterns of you self destructing elitists?
Politics › Re: Ogun Bans Cattle Rearing On Abeokuta-Sagamu Axis by nduchucks: 3:04pm On Nov 07, 2013
0monnakoda: As far as the "Constitution" is concerned perhaps you care to cite the relevant part of the Constitution.

The Government has the right to institute planning codes e.g to designate particular areas as agricultural zones,Industrial zones etc. The planning code consideration and to make "laws for the public good and welfare".
When the
The Government can choose to enforce laws or not to enforce them when it chooses. In this particular Instance the government gave two reasons Public security and the designation of the area.
Oga, if you don't understand the fundamental principle that the constitution trumps any state law, then this conversation will be an exercise in futility. You should be trying to show us why this ban in not unconstitutional and does not infringe on the herdsmen's fundamental human and constitutional rights.

When you are ready to address this constitutional issue, we can talk.

@Omonnakoda, I'd recommend that you keep your mouth shut when it comes to issues of law and constitution, one of your posts suggests gross ignorance of the law.

You talk about trespassing but you failed to explain why existing laws against trespassing are not enforced but instead the state decided to Institute an illegal ban which infringes upon the herdsmen's freedom of movement.

What Ogun state has done is essentially declared a war against these people and their way of life instead of helping to craft a long lasting solution. Lets see how they will enforce this law.
Politics › Re: Ogun Bans Cattle Rearing On Abeokuta-Sagamu Axis by nduchucks: 12:57pm On Nov 07, 2013
The truth of the matter is that, a judge, preferably an indigene of Ogun state, will render this pronouncement by Ogun State government as unconstinution, null, and void. In the meantime, lets see how they will communmicate the so-called rule to the nomads and how they plan to enforce the ban.

This is a dumb move by another dumb governor.
