lol@Afonja Descendants Union. I am not but if I was I would wear that badge with honor. In as much the descendants of Dosunmu carry their legacy, foolishly, with pride and are equally celebrated in society, the Afonjas deserve the same celebrity status. Afenifere is to the people what Ogboni is to the Obas....."the enforcer"! Afenifere has enforced the policies as necessitated by the political circumstance, in real time, to keep the West in calibration to the ethos of "omoluabi". Omoluabi is a package, it comes with an expected sense of personal responsibility, social and civil obligations and communal support and uplifting. When it appeared our leaders were loosing their omoluabi in the 60s, Afenifere stepped in and recalibrated them. Never has Afenifere concerned itself with calibrating non-Westerners, if it did Yorubaland would be inhabitable for non-Yorubas. So on a national scale, Afenifere, in past and in now, by insisting on a standard of discipline and self-love, had acted as an involuntary policing agent for the Nigerian govt and helped kept the West peaceful and violent free.
You've provided very instructive info about Afenifere. I'd appreciate your honest answer to this question: Are Fashola and Tinubu Omoluabis with sense of personal responsibility, social and civil obligations and communal support and uplifting? Has Afenifere failed in its duty to step in and recalibrate either Tinubu or Fashola? I trust you will be honest with your answer as usual |
Indubitably, True love is blind. |
what a rasklat! In the development of Nigeria West has sacrificed the most that peace and order may reign in the nation. North and East hav each, and consistently, brewed problems for a peaceful co-existence. Afenifere is a principal partner and actor in guiding the principles and action of Westerners for an amiable and calm response to the storm and chaos coming from the rest of the country. get it right Mr!
Kabiyesi, you sound like a bonafide member of the Afonja Descendants' Union, currently presided over by Alhaji Abdulkarim Olola Kasumu. By the way, I do not necessarily disagree with your characterization of Afenifere, but I will state here that many of its founding fathers and members activively participated in the ruining of this country. That generation of people do not deserve praise. I mean, look at where we are. Na now dem know say security bad for naija? where dem dey before? |
Gbawe: Ndu chucks, why are you so fond of rounding on the messenger? Is our security challenge not serious? Is it not obvious that the government is failing to mount a robust challenge against crime? Will you, god forbid, be shouting Afenifere when a loved one falls victim to kidnappers or terrorists? No matter who says it, hoodlums are indeed taking over Nigeria. We are better served discussing that instead of attacking the messenger. That is a sign of small-mindedness to me.Oga, if you think hoodlums are just now taking over Nigeria, as opposed to hoodlums HAVE taken over Nigeria, then you are more naive than I thought. Everyone knows that the security situation in Nigeria is worse than that of the war zones of the middle east. Afenifere's warning is too little too late. |
It suffices to say that we are by no means on top of the world regarding our system of government or electioneering in Nigeria. We are a young democracy and by any standard, we have improved our election process constantly, thanks to Jega. We obviously have to deal with growing pains which. Insha Allah, we shall overcome. I have to laugh like OBJ, when the kettle, in the likeness of Afenifere old coots, start calling other pots (aka hoodlums) black. Nonesense. The generation of Afenifere leaders/elders have done more to ruin Nigeria than any so-called hooldlum can ever do. One day go be one day, monkey go go market....... |
macjive01: I believe u just read a chronology of how the ogwunikwe came about, and just saw a picture of it in the Biafra museum umuahia ?The account you are citing is bogus. Where are the engineering drawings/designs for this device which is no more sophisticated than a "bisco", if you know what that is? |
This Ogbunigwe crap is the biggest 419 ever perpetrated on the biafrans and everyone else alike. Not a single person has been able to provide anyone with the machine tools used to manufacture the Ogbunigwe let alone its launcher. Did they use scrap from existing metals in their manufacturing process, or was it Okija juju which was employed to reform scarp metal into this so-called weapon? If the weapon was worth anything, why has no one been able to obtain a patent for it? Why is it that Ogbunigwe only existed in biafra? Ogbunigwe is nothing but a hoax and a propaganda tool which was used to decieve innocent biafran soldiers into dying for nothing! Nonsense and ingredients!!! |
Obasanjo is loved by Nigerians. This dance clip portrays him as a lovable ol' grand pa. If Obasanjo had loved Nigerians the way Nigerians loved and love him, he would have replicated his Ota farm in every state of the country and empowered Nigerians to run the farms the way he is running his own successful Ota farm. I predict that when he is gone, his loot will destroy his family much like it did to Abiola's family (i.e. MKO Abiola of the ITT loot fame) |
This trechnology is actually inferior to the one employed in the SW of Nigeria, Ijebu, in particular. Have you people never heard of Egbe? Egbe makes one invisible. BTW, One Ijebu boy who was caught with drugs at Heathrow Airport, jumped up and down after he was arrested, expecting that the act had rendered him invisible. By the time the guards gave him a couple of dirty slaps, he discovered that he was given the wrong Egbe. SMH |
In my mind, Fashola is incapable of ruling Nigeria, he is simply not cut out for the job. He'll make a great Minister of Works, of the DG of some important parastatal. GEJ must be the last incompetent ruler of Nigeria. Or Burst. |
Naptu, thanks for this informative thread. Would Negro or naijababe please explain what 'asopa' means? |
he. Old coots. |
I must disagree with you. Fashola and Obi are attired in the white man's regalia while Aregbe's pic you posted depicts a handsome African prince. abeg leave Al hajj Aregbesola alone jare. Nothing do de man. www.nairaland.com/attachments/180447_ROTFLMAO_gif3d0c775232c7f27cf80592785b9635b6 |
It appears that Uduaghan has more than an intimate knowledge of the whereabouts of the kidnappers. Police should start quizzing him and his aides to determine just how much they know about kidnapping in the region. |
ABOUT 54 youths who participated in the Osun State Beef Production Programmes (O’Beef) have received N50,000 each to encourage them start their own business after undergoing intensive training in livestock production.
Bullsh*t!!! What kind of business can you start with N50,000 N50,000 is not even enough to entertain only 2 friends with Suya and a couple of drinks at the Nicon in Abuja. This is more than disgraceful. |
The usual suspects and sycophants have resorted to attacking the messenger rather than the message. If people like eko_ile are bright enough, they'd make counter points to support their positions, but we all know that they are not capable of doing such intelligent acts. |
Desola: E ma gba mi ke...are you sure you're not Jarus' other moniker? So the okoros tell you that they don't understand Yoruba abi or do you think that i'm also blind at your backhanded insults which you have been writing in ibo?Was that so difficult? You expressed yourself without being objectionable in the post above, with the exception of the hilarious sentence I struck out. There is still hope. ![]() |
Desola: E gba mi ke? Kini apejopo awon eeyan gidi at asinwin bayi o. Won ran e si mi ni? Stop dragging Gbawe into this, its not his fight. Deal with me fair and square and see if I won't take you to the cleaners. Alawoku omo!One of the reasons why you've been escaping bans is because you craftily use vernacular to commit your atrocities, so that most readers will not find your ban deserving posts offensive. Be careful or I will start translating what you write and send you over to my Igbo people to eat you raw, olodo. P.S. I will not fight you or any other babe, no matter how hard you try. what da heck does "apejopo awon eeyan" and "Alawoku omo" mean? Write real Yoruba if you must. mumu |
berem: mba abughi m onye mmanu ofe.nwanyi, there is nothing wrong with tribalism, much like nothing being wrong with one's political affiliation. Bigotry is what you may be referencing rather than tribalism. BTW, the Ikemba himself became an advocate for ONE NIGERIA during the last 20 or more years of his life. The price for disintegrating Nigeria will be too much to bear - nothing is worth the lives of millions of our people. @Desola, I understand that the moon's position affects certain people differently, so I will let you escape this time without being punished. I will simply report you to you husband, Uncle Gbawe, who will deal with you appropriately. I don't know how to beat up on babes. |
Berem, Ehihie oma. i bu onye Yoruba? |
Look what I found in the profile of the user Kofoshi who attacked me out of the blue a few posts ago: Location: Desola's reincarnate! afam4eva: The truth is that apart from the two bans that i alluded to in my previous post, i can only remember being banned by Mukina. If some of Nairalanders can remember, i went on a campaign and some of them joined me until i was unbanned. I can't remember ever been banned by Seun.Well, here is the real truth according to the logs, your ban history: 1, By Seun on June 9, 2012 2, By Seun on July 15, 2012 3, By Mukina2 on August 1, 2012 4, By Ogugua88 on August 4, 2012 5, By Ikenna351 on November 24, 2012 Afam, logs don't lie, you were banned by Seun 2 times - his bans are usually global. Let is rest. You were justifiably disqualified. You should have asked for clarification instead of attempting to sneak your way into the competition. |
afam4eva: It seems you didn't read my post. I have never been banned in this section as far as i can remember and those bans were outside the politics section and i was still able to post in this section. The rule was not specific regarding the section where you were banned, this is why I say that you should have asked for clarification. Secondly you were banned by Seun 2 times during the year, and if Seun's ban was a global ban or Mukina's bans were also global, then the bans would have included ALL sections including the politics section. I ask you, did Seun or Mukina ban you from NL or from a particular section? Be careful when you answer the question before you dig yourself into a deeper hole. |
@Afam4ever, you still have credibility with me, so don't try to play me. Jarus made a mistake, he admitted it, and people like me are OK with the admission. My own question is solely for you, do not bring Jarus or anyone else into it. I repeat my question: Did you forget that you were banned more than 6 times during the year, when PointB was disqualified for being banned more than 2 times? What made you think that you, with over 6 bans should be a contestant when people others were disqualified? Isn't the honourable thing to do is to ask for clarification when you knew you had over 6 bans or to ask for your nomination to be withdrawn? My recommendation to you is to allow this issue to die before your credibility and honesty starts to suffer. |
Afam is a gentleman and as far as I can tell a very honest individual. Given that he was on the thread when people were disqualified for having been banned more than 2 times in the course of the year, I would have expected Afam to ask for clarification from Jarus, or even reject his nomination, because he knew quite well that he has been banned more than 6 times during the year. Afam, please explain to me why you failed to point out the fact that you had been banned over 6 times when PointB and Desola were disqualified for the same reason. Did you forget about the bans or were you trying to pull a fast one. If you were actually trying to pull a fast one, you should be banned right now. |
My friend don't support evil. Now put yourself in Afam shoes and see if you as a man will allow anyone to rob your mandate. Afam was nominated from day1 and emerged as the second best among all the contestant, nobody protested or challenged his nomination until he came out second before Even PointB, the official Iwu of NL is complaining, wonders shall never end. I admit that I feel Afam's pain, truly. But rules are rules. |
This thread is hilarious! As of this moment I've stopped being surprised by Desola, nna she is a lost cause, oro omo yen ti su every baty. While Uncle Gbawe, fresh from his observation activities in Ghana deserves my vote, I will vote for Kats this time around. I mean, that professor has been in the top 2 or 3 of the contestants for the past few years and deserves the title this year. Naptu's amazing thread has earned him the love and respect of NLers. You deserve a tie with Kats, unfortunately I can only vote for one candidate so my vote has probably broken the tie already. Afam, nwanne, remember that I nominated Desola, but the nominated was rejected because it was assumed that she was banned 2 or more times this year. When Jarus was informed that he erred in the matter, he promptly reinstated her. By the same token, if you have been banned 2 or more times this year, you should be disqualified. You were apparently banned from posting in various sections and Oga Seun banned you from NL twice. S*uck it up and accept your disqualification gracefully. |
Desola: I am not surprised, since your Afonja betrayed the Yoruba people.Someone forgot to inform you that Oyo empire was very vulnerable and already falling apart when Afonja tried to topple Alaafin Awole Arogangan of Oyo. Oyo empire/Kingdom had already been undermined by the excesses of Obas who were already turning the Yorubas against their rulers. If there was any betrayal, it was done by the Alafin's Obas, much like your governors are doing today - betraying the people with thieving acts. |
Enemies of Nigeria's progress do not have to introduce any divide and rule mechanism against many Igbos and Yorubas. Their enmity remains in auto pilot. Shameless lot. |
kofoshi: That is an insult on the person of Katsumoto.I bu onye JJC? Egbe ndi Olumo piafuka gi isi. Ewu can beer. |
@Negro, I'm afraid quite a few NLers do not share your view, despite your analysis. Those people should be given the opportunity to present their position. Those who do not think the issue is worth debating need not participate or visit the debate thread. |
