Why are my yim miri brothers getting twisted out of shape anytime the topic of new SS states suffaces? Be informed that NASS is currently considering the following new states for the region:

South-South: Ahoada (Rivers); Toru Ebe (Delta, Edo, Ondo), Ogoja (Cross River), Urhobo(Delta), Minji Se (Rivers), Ado (Delta), Confluence (Edo, Kogi, Nasarawa), Bori (Rivers), Anioma (Delta), Oil Rivers (Akwa Ibom, Rivers), Warri (Delta) New Delta (Delta) and a few others.

edoyad: Affirmative action like you said is designed to aid minorities. Between warri and Hausa/ Fulani people, which to you is a minority tribe in Nigeria? What did Atiku tell PDP delegates in Rivers in 2011 ?
Your point is not cogent enough. Simply because Hausa/Fulani people are more in population does not mean that a marginalized segment of them should not benefit from so-called affirmative actions.

In the US for example, marginalized white people do benefit from affirmative actions.

Examine the number of University graduates in Nigeria and the need to bridge the gap with affirmative actions such as being discussed becomes obvious.

I know you would hide my comment but this is BS angry.
Alhaji, if indeed Afam4eva is the Chief Bigot as you claim, then making him a mod was a master stroke of genius because the act will defang him and render his bigotry impotent, because he will have to obey the rules.

I have not read every post on this thread but I have to say that many of GEJ's critics here are being unfair, dishonest, and in some cases exhibiting gross bigotry.

We all know that the average Nigerian is lawless when it comes to abiding by existing traffic laws and this lawlessness, has caused untold number of accidents and deaths. Many of you drive on the wrong side of the road in Lagos or through unauthorized areas of the roadways, simply because there is a traffic jam ahead. If you people change your attitude, as GEJ is apparently suggesting, lives could be saved. Your lawlessness is just as responsible for deaths on our roads as the bad roads themselves.

Some of you bigots were hailing Fashola to high heavens when he said that we do not need constitutional amendments but a change in attitude. How is GEJ's statement worse than Fashola's.

You Nigerians are your own worst enemies and are enablers of the leaders who keep screwing you daily. abeg make I hear word. embarassed
Politics › Cameroon: Nigeria's Friend Or Enemy by nduchucks(op): 8:43am On Dec 29, 2012
Just today, gunmen attacked the Adamawa State border town of Maiha, shooting at the police, and setting fire to police stations, courts, and the Government Lodge, in a successful attempt to free imprisoned extremists and terrorists. This is the latest of such attachs which were carried out by terrorists who have bases in Cameroon and who operate with impunity right inside Cameroon.

A few months ago, Cameroon sent a letter to the authorities and informed them that they were planning to open a series of dams. Though their engineers knew the devastating effect and loss of life the dam opening would cost, they failed to inform the authorities of the impending grave danger and just how much devastation should be expected, thus, hundreds, if not thousands, of Nigerians died and billions of naira worth of properties were destroyed.

These series of acts from Cameroon, seem like acts of war to me. Time has come for Paul Biya to take a stand and control these terrorists who are operating freely within Cameroon.

I wish we did not have a sisi of a President who sits as a sitting duck, while our nation is attacked by riff raffs from within and without with impunity.

Cameroonians, sont vous notre ami ou ennemi? Are you our friends or enemies.

PDP and GEJ must go, come 2015.
Has anyone heard about HB.11.10.130 of 2012?

This House Bill is to setup a commission authorized with statutory powers for forced acquisition of land territories that will be designated "National Grazing Route". This bill was sponsored by Karimi Sunday, a member representin Yagba, Kogi State.

This grazing route is a reservation for certain qualified pastoralists. It is not open to all Nigerians and encroachment or unlicensed use can be a violation of law.

This is just one of several insulting and offensive bills being proposed by members but I wanted to present this as an alternative idea to debating the number of civil servants on payroll.
WTF are you talking about? Jakumo: Any person spotted with a concealed pistol in Nigeria, and who is unable to produce a military or law-enforcement ID card, stands the real risk of either being chased down and beaten to death by an "irate" mob, on the assumption that the gun-toting civilian must be an armed robber, or, alternatively, of being shot without hesitation by the police, for the same reason. For the avoidance of doubt, Nigerian firearm statutes clearly state that outside of retired or serving military and law enforcement personnel, NO civilian is authorized by law to pack a concealed handgun in any public place.

Politics › Re: How We Killed US Returnee -kidnap Suspects by nduchucks: 6:08am On Dec 27, 2012
I urge Nigerians in the US to go out and buy multiple semi automatic concealable handguns, the type which can fire at least 10 - 15 rounds per magazine within 10 - 30 seconds, before they are banned. Do not return to Nigeria and move around willy nilly if you will be involved in publicized activities which will expose you as a JJC.

Not doing so will render you as a sitting duck which could be shot by useless savages for pennies. These armed robbers and kidnappers are cowards, your remedy is to fire on them while they try to molest you - trust me, they will run like chickens even with their guns.

These criminals will even come to your house with the confidence that they will not meet any type of resistance. Once again, let them in and wait for the mofos with your laser guided handgun. They will never return to bother you. Nonesense.

You can pick this one up for under $500 anywhere in the US, it is called "Bersa Thunder 40 Ultra Compact". If you cannot handle firearms, for goodness sake, employ mopos as bodyguards, it will cost you pennies. Life has no duplicate.

TRUTHTELA: Wow, what sort of IGNORANCE is this? The Government Azazi, mentioned, he'still referring to the Northern elites in Govt. PDP- Still the Northern elites in PDP, and of course, the God fathers in the North. are still Northern elites. The NORTHERN ELITES ARE BEHIND BH, cos, their spokesman, Ciroma, said what they'll do and they've been doing it. Mr Dunce, the NORTHERN ELITES are the only ELITES very bitter with Jonathan. They lost out of the power scheme. If its not NORTHERN ELITES, is it the South-south elites that are enjoying the LOOT? Mugu, all the wealthy Northerners, STOLE their wealth from the OIL and resources in the Southern Nigeria. Atiku, Danjuma, IBB, Bamanga Tukur, Dangote, Yar'adua's etc, name them. They all have oil wells, shipping lines and all other businesses that flourish in the South. Or did they make their money from the OIL WELLS in Yobe and Katsina?? Or their shipping line docks at River Benue? Lugard told them and the British reaffirmed it to them during the civil war, " IF YOU EVER ALLOW THE SOUTHERN NIGERIA TO GO THEIR OWN WAY, HUNGER WILL NOT LEAVE YOUR DOOR STEP".Yes!!
Oga, why neutralize your sensibilities with this level of bigotry? You do yourselve a great disservice with this act of yours and I feel sorry for you.

TRUTHTELA: Your ignorance led to you CONTRADICTING yourself. Boko Haram is the military wing of the Northern Elites that was schemed out PDP power play. Azazi, was just polite when he mentioned PDP, he knew where he was going with that, ( he meant Northern elites in PDP, cos the Elites of South WEST, EAST and South-South are benefiting from the present arrangement), only the Northern Elites are DISGRUNTLED. When Adamu Ciroma, said "they'll make nigeria UNGOVERNABLE", do you think he was kidding? So far, Senator Ndume ( northern elite) & his cohorts have been nabbed communicating with the "REAL or POLITICAL Boko". Northern Elites, are PEASANTS and only the resources from the Southern Nigeria, can keep food on their table.

Question: Why is it that Elites from other regions are beating the DRUMS of DISINTEGRATION ( they want to stay on their own), only the Northern Elites want to CLING to the REPUBLIC. Why?
I gladly accept being labelled ignorant, and will continue to try to educate myself to deal with the problem. I submit that your own case is worse than ignorance, your intellectual dishonesty is apalling.

According to Azazi, BH = government, PDP, and some godfathers from the North. But in a blatant display of intellectual dishonesty, you limit BH to Northern elites. You can continue to sell your bigoted idea to your fellow dullards, but don't try that with me. mumu

TRUTHTELA: I have read some folks criticism over the proposed US military action to tame Northern Muslim Elites, Boko Haram.

Now, which of the two do you guys prefer?

USA drones or Boko Harams SLAUGHTERING of CHRISTIANS "DAILY"

If your argument is based on USA taking over the " RESOURCES" ( FYI, OIL GAS is not the future anymore and that's the only thing Nigeria has to offer)in Nigeria, better wake up. The resources have been plundered by your ELITES.
First of all, I take exception you your erroneouys characterization of Boko Haram as Northern Muslim Elites. This characterization smacks of ignorance and lack of understanding of the Nigerian condition.

I trust the characterization of Boko Haram which was provided by the late Gen. Owoeye Azazi, to wit: The government, PDP, and some godfathers from the North

Are you telling us that you want US military to come and fight the government, PDP, and some godfathers from the North, and you except the same government which would be under attack to sanction the said millitary action? Oga mi, that military action will not happen as long as GEJ is the President.

I believe Azazi's characterization - the man probably gave his life for speaking up.

Whether the resignation was voluntary or not, is not the issue. The issue is that he resigned or was forced to resign because of a conflict of interest which he was aware of but did not properly safeguard. If he had taken appropriate actions to deal with the conflicts of interest before they affected his job, he would have remained a minister today. That to me, is failure.
