adadivvy: Nigeria has security issue and if we do not treat that cross river is I for it. Their is no Nigeria but common interest which is oil. They should try North. Muslims are bad news for now.Meeen, this is just not my day, babes are throwing jabs at me, left and right. Dear Adaugo, how can you say over 1 billion people (Muslims) are bad news, simply because some people are working to avoid humanitarian disaster? |
Yawn!!! |
Sugardiva: Interesting. Thanks for the info. It expalins much.Sugar, please do not allow narrow minded and insecure kids turn you into a person who cannot use her brain. So far, our conversations have been cordial and race or tribe has not been a factor. I'd prefer you as a detribalized babe with the kind of intelligences you've displayed so far, to a bigot. Back to your question: Do u hv any idea how big the Obanliku lGA is? Do u knw if the land, resources and such are even enough for its indigenous inhabitants talk less of to add 4000 strangers over night? If u live in a one room and i send over to u 30 relatives to live with u, will u be able to cope? I maintain my position IMOKE SEND THEM AWAY NOW! I trust Imoke's judgement. If he thought that Obanliku IGA was not big enough to provide temporary refuge for these people, he would have said so. If you want to say that Imoke is senseless, unreasonable, and insensitive, please say so and provide your real reason for saying so. Left with me, as far as Imoke is concerned, Oru ya nile mara mma. BTW, Alh Harem is a kind individual and Ndu_Chucks is not him. |
Sugardiva: ndu_chucks do u live in Nigeria? I doubt that u do. You have a rather idealistic view to issues. Torkaka and ektbear are making a good point and are by no means wicked. If you are fleeing a certain tribe it doesnt make logical sense to flee to another state dominated by that tribe. There is something not right with that and considering the sly nature of BH we cant just turn a blind eye. We are not saying the refugees shld be killed we are saying they shld be accomodated and given aid up north and that arrangement wld be better for every1. C/riverians can have peace of mind and the refugees would be amonsgt their own pple who share their beliefs and values. That way every1 is hapi.My dear diva, kedu, ka 'ale o, yaya aiki? You sound like a peace loving babe. Are you suggesting that the Fulani refugees should be sent back immediately because the refugees risk being attacked by the residents of your state? Would you condone such a criminal act? Wouldn't you rather the refugees are ruturned to a safe and peaceful environment or even settled in your state, since they have every right to live there as you do? Do you believe in equal rights for all Nigerians? abeg no vex say I dey ask you all these questions. I hope people will ask me such questions so that the questions may expose any latent bigotry I may not be aware of. BTW, how come you have so many friends and your picture is not even available for vain people to look at? |
@Only |
torkaka: @ndu_chuksThe bolded is what should worry you and every Nigerian. The refugee crisis is very real but it does not get the needed coverage because exotic news such as BH, MEND, and other such activities sell more newspapers and TV ads. Unfortunately, your self hatred, tribalism, and bigotry will not let you be as objective as you could be. Egbe ndi Israeli piafuka gi..........no try me o. |
Onlytruth: I will take you up on that offer when I hit home one of these days.Eze NL Gburugburu Only Why not start by publicizing your ideas in popular newspapers in your state and hope that your governor gets the message. Don't let NL Eze get in ya head buddy. Make sure you wear running shoes when you get to your governor's office because they may send the vicious office dog after you. ![]() |
Stop trying to deceive gullible people here. It is impossible to deport or repatriate a Nigerian citizen from one state to the other - states are not nations. Don't attempt to unfairly demonize the Cross River State Governor Liyel Imoke, who says the state government will send back the displaced Fulani herdsmen to their homes after completing arrangements with their respective state governments. Imoke, urged the host communities to accommodate other Nigerians who are in need, “especially those seeking refuge due to unforeseen circumstances”. Imoke's actions are compassionate and reasonable. It is in no way, the cruelty and wickedness you are attempting to portray here. |
Where is the leadership of the Minister of Interior and his multibillion naira budget? Where is the leadership of our commander-in-chief? This is an outrageous disgrace, I don't care whether the refugees are Fulanis, Yorubas, Igbos, or any other tribe. SMH Comrade Abba Moro - Minister of Interior, we need to hear from you. |
tortaka: mr.man i have no regrets questioning the rationale of fulani fleeing from tivs and ending up in tivland enroute cross rivers. do you run from the stream to jump into the ocean? if igbos are fleeing from yorubas in lagos and end up in ekiti i will quetsion that too! didn't the sss advert say we should monitor and report suspicious movement? isn't that movement suspicious?that story would have made more sense if tivs fled taraba for benue enroute cross rivers and if fulani fled taraba for adamawa enroute borno! 4000 refugees from the tiv/fulani fight that didn't make news headlines? i can't be fooled! You continue to validate my point that you will become a member of a generation worse than that of your forebearers with posts like this. These Fulani s are Nigerians and the Nigerian government should protect them from the kind of violence that is responsible for their demise. The government should also assist them with urgent medical needs before this refugee situation turns into a humanitarian disaster. How can a government sit comfortably in Aso rock and watch its citizens become refugees without taking comprehensive steps address the situation? This is a national disgrace!! Coldfeet: you are a malu for making such a statement! Who told you fulanies are Nigerians? For you info fulani tribe are strangers and settlers in nigeria, they dominate with force wherever they go.If to say I no be gentleman, I for tell you say, na ya Papa be Malu, but for now, I go say, na ya boyfriend be Malu, no be me. I no know de history book wey you dey read, but I go tell you dis much, na kiss Ndu_Chucks d ey kiss women, him no dey quarrel with dem. Biko, Make you no look for my trouble o. |
Tinubu indeed chose Fashola. I was at an event which took place in Dubai during the lesser Hajj, a few years ago where Tinubu was introducing Fashola to friends as the next Governor of lagos. Tinubu added that if Fashola did not become the next Governor then he (Tinubu) is an omo ale (bastard). Fashola sat there grinning like a chicken with bird flu (koli) Its time for Fashola to break free from this man, Tinubu.Having said that, I admire this Tinubu of a guy, there is truly no one like him or as powerful as him in Yorubaland at the moment. happy birthday sir! Call Tinubu "Oju yobo" and he'll respond "baba e ni oju yobo". lol. Carry go rascal leader. |
blacksta: Nobody discusses the disadvantages. Are you aware that it is very possible that the new face by rejected by man's dna, tissues, muscles, and other stuff. Are you also aware that your lover may be run over by a trailer some day? Did that stop you from sex? olodo |
^^^^^^ oro e ti su mi. ![]() |
OAM4J: Fixed.Your promptness is appreciated, it is one of the reasons why this section is one of the best here. P.S. I saw a Governor posting in this section resently. I did not tell him he was responding to my post. ![]() |
This is the most beautiful work of medicine, I've ever seen. Exquisite. |
It is quite shameful that the youths, like ekt_bear, noiseless, torkaka, and others who should be demanding to know why their government is mishandling this humanitarian and refugee crisis, have instead allowed tribalism, bigotry, and hatred for any mention of Fulani, turn them into a potentially useless generation, worse than their forefathers. You all should be fighting for the rights of ALL Nigerians, you will be the next victims soon enough. |
Beaf: You are the biggest fool on Earth. It has taken a general strike by the people to provoke a government response. Not so fast. The real questions are, which class of people are being kidnapped, which class can afford to pay heavy ransom, and who is really behind the general strike. |
My post here was quoted by a character with username Johndoe100. He then modified the post and replaced my words with vile, hateful, and wicked ones, thereby bastardizing the forum. Here is the bastardized post Please do the needful. Thx. |
Some of you people are heartless, wicked, and outright dumb. Are these Fulanis not Nigerians who have an inalienable right to live in any part of Nigeria? |
@Olodostein also please become very afraid when you see ndu-chuks supporting you he wants igbo land to remain in chains so that he will sleep at night with his wicked one nigeria dreams these airports will create an entirely new idea and be a game changer the potential is limitless
chei, you are one paranoid chap. Why would I want to do what's against my best judgement and interest? The boogie man you are afraid of does not exist. Yours cannot be the mindset of the sensible folks in the area. SMH |
Beaf: @ndu_chuksWe all know that your objectivity goes out of the window when it comes to matters affecting the President. The Governors who thought they could extend the tenure of office believed those who took them to court were jesters as well. I'm sure their opinions have changed since then. You handlers of the President will ruin him and his legacy in the end if care is not taken. |
Olodostein: Very fundamental and intelligible posts. We need to develop our brains and mindset. How many patents do we create? Must we continue to import things?^^^+1000 The above is a detribalized and very sensible post for which |
warrior01: I believe this ndu-chucks of a guy is simply being silly. Gej has every right under the constitution to contest for another term in office. Ndu-chuks has not told us why he is so scared about Gej exercising his right to contest 2015 election. My posts here have not been an exercise of frivolity. I'm quite surprised that you think there is silliness in the discussions we've had here. What should have been clear to you is that tribalism or bigotry is not a factor in my posts here, I wonder whether we can say the same about yours. All you've done here is expose yourself as being an intellectual midget without the ability to make any meaningful contribution to the important issue being discussed. mgbo piafuka gi ......., olodo It is inconceivable that the supreme court will make any interpretation which could allow any Nigerian to occupy the office of the President for up to 12 years without a constitutional amendment. If GEJ is allowed to contest in 2015, then in the future, God forbid, if President X dies on his first day in office and his vice President Y, becomes President, then the said President Y, can remain in office for his own 8 year term and also for the 4 years he was in office because President X died. Thus President Y would be in office for 12 years!! Clearly the framers of the constitution did not have this in mind. A reasonable supreme court which forced Governors out of office after they served for 8 years, will not provide for the possibility of a Presidency with potentially 12-year tenure. If you put all my arguments together, it will become obvious that GEJ and the whole country are better off if our President honours his promise of not running for another term. |
Dede1: Any law suit based on the section 137(1)(b) against GEJ's bid for second term should be regarded as frivolous litigation. In USA, courts do not accept every law suit. Many law suits are thrown out on the bases of lack of merit. There is nothing frivoluous about asking the courts for interpretation of any constitutional provision. I guess you did not read the first post of this thread else, you would have read that a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Cypriacus Njoku, has dragged the president, his party and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Abuja and payed that prayed the court to interpret Section 137 (1)(b) and 135 (2)of the 1999 constitution. The case is in court and its too important an issue not to be interpreted. |
Dede1: Again, the question remains has GEJ being elected to the same office at two previous elections. If the answer is no, the supreme court should not entertain any law suit arising from GEJ’s bid for second term. This is not the way legal systems work in civilized societies. Again assuming that GEJ has the right to contest in 2015 under the section you referenced (I think not by the way), why should the supreme court not entertain any lawsuit that seek to clarify Section 135 or any other section? The supreme court is there to interprete constitutional provisions and has already ruled that 2 terms or 8 years in office is what was intended by the framers of the constitution. I don't believe the supreme court will allow anyone to attempt to elongate this tenure of office through the back door. What is the basis for the bolded in your post above? I don't believe you can find any legal basis for that statement, if you do lets have it. |
Dede1: No, I shall not meet with you in the horizon of assumption. I am sticking with Section 137(1) (b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999.Let me post Section 137 (1) (b) 137. (1) A person shall not be qualified for election to the office of President if - b) he has been elected to such office at any two previous elections Section 137 (1) (b) speaks to whether a person shall be qualified for election. Assuming that GEJ is qualified to run in 2015, this section does not give GEJ the right to elongate his tenure. He must then vacate the office after spending a total of 8 years, whether he was elected 3,5, 10 times or not. I don't think the supreme court will put the country through the chaos that will ensue from this. The very best GEJ can get is to run in 2015 but not remain in office for all of the 4 years. He will have to vacate office just as the Governors were ordered to do back in January. There is enough to prevent GEJ from running in 2015 according to other provisions of the constitution - lets wait for supreme court's interpretation. |
Dede1: Nwanne, I guess the governors you referenced in your post contested or challenged the gubernatorial election in court of law and won. In GEJ's case, he has only contested one presidential election and won. I also know that Yar adua contest one such election and won too. Please feel free to inform me when GEJ contested first presidential election in NigeriaI am saying that the fact that GEJ did not contest the first election does not give him the constitutional right to occupy the office for more than 2 terms or 8 years. As I said earlier, lets assume that GEJ is allowed to run for office in 2015, when do you suppose that term should end? Remember that the supreme court has already ruled that Governors and by extention Presidents cannot remain in office for more that 2 terms or 8years (regardless of whether they were elected for two terms or not). GEJ will have to vacate office after being in office for 8 years. Why do you disagree with this? Lets not narrowly interpret the constitution. Please support your stance with the appropriate constitutional provision - guess work will not suffice. |
Dede1: The question is has GEJ being elected to the same office at any two previous elections.nwannem, based on the sections I posted, the real question is, can GEJ stay in office for more than 8 years? The Supreme court ruled that the Governors could not. Assuming, for the sake of argument that GEJ is allowed to contest in 2015, then he must vacate Office at the end of 8-year period in office, just like the Governors were forced to do by the Supreme court last January. My guess is that the supreme court will save us the chaos by disallowing GEJ to run in 2015. Whichever way you look at it, GEJ cannot elongate his term in office past 2 terms or 8years. The supreme court has already set the precedence for that by sacking the Governors who tried to do that last January. GEJ should do the right thing and put Nigeria first, We don't need the associated crap which will ensue as a result of his contesting in 2015. |
Ikology: It is not about tenure elongation because it will not definitely scale through, it is about the constitutional rights of GEJ to contest 2015 presidential election. Though he earlier stated during his campaign of his one term ambition not knowing that ASO ROCK is not a place to leave willingly. the stage is now set to start politricking. This issue is very simple in my opinion. Another term in office by GEJ will essentially elongate his tenure contrary to constitutional provisions. Let’s look at section 135 more closely because it clearly defines what a 4 year term means. (2) Subject to the provisions of subsection (1) of this section, the President shall vacate his office at the expiration of a period of four years commencing from the date, when -•The President shall vacate his office at the expiration of a period of four years commencing from the date when- This means that after a period of 4 years in office, the President shall vacate that office. The question left is, when does this four year term commence. •(a) in the case of a person first elected as President under this Constitution, he took the Oath of Allegiance and the oath of office; and This would have applied to Yar’Adua if he had not died. •(b) in any other case, the person last elected to that office under this Constitution took the Oath of Allegiance and oath of office or would, but for his death, have taken such Oaths The above clearly states that Jonathan’s 4 year term began at the beginning of Yar’Adua’s term. That was why GEJ had to run for office for a second term. What this means is that Jonathan is in his 2nd 4-year term as defined by the constitution. If he runs in 2015 and wins, I predict that that election will be nullified for the stated reasons. GEJ should save the country from a lot of headache and additional chaos by simply announcing to the world that he will not attempt to subvert the constitution of the great country of Nigeria by contesting in 2015. I’m sorry to say that the fact the GEJ did not honor the PDP gentleman’s agreement of power sharing, is a major factor in the explosion of violence in Nigeria, particularly in the states he won in the North. His running for office in 2015 could do even more damage to the country. I’m counting on GEJ to do the right thing this time and not allow the vultures around him to bring him down for good. GEJ is a kind and good human being, but the same cannot be said about his handlers. |
Not sure what section to post this. The people who killed this animal should be prosecuted and imprisoned for animal cruelty. These people are still Barbarians in 2012. SMH There was pandemonium at an area close to the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar, at the weekend, following the discovery of tortoise walking around the area. SMH |
Callotti: Yes he can!hmmm, to be honest with you, sometimes I wonder whether all the chaos resulting from BH activities are in some selfish interest of the President's. Whatever happened to the state of emergency declared in some states earlier? Nada!! Violence continues. He is yet to arrest a single BH member who he himself admits are high ranking members of his administration. I hope you are wrong sha. |
The plaintiff, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Cypriacus Njoku, has the constitution and precedence on his side. I believe the supreme court will do the right thing in this case because to allow the President, who effectively would be seeking tenure elongation, to run for office, will allow a culture of impunity in the system. It is clear that the framers of the constitution intended that the President or Governors can serve no longer than two terms in office. We should remember that in January of this year, Nigeria's Supreme Court ordered five of the country's powerful state governors to step down immediately to marks the end of a long legal battle about when exactly their terms in office, which last four years, began. The supreme court correctly prevented the Governors from back door tenure elongation, and I predict will prevent GEJ from the same. The attempt to elongate the tenure of GEJ by a proposed constitutional amendment which would provided for a new single term of six years by the President failed miserably and tenure elongation by running for office in 2015 should also be defeated. The will be a very interesting case to watch. GEJ needs to move very carefully. |

Its time for Fashola to break free from this man, Tinubu.
I did not tell him he was responding to my post.
