Tinubu may win an election in O'odua republic, unfortunately for him that republic does not exist. If the Southwest wants to rule, they must come up with a better candidate than Tinubu. Who will vote for him in large numbers in the SS, SE. NW, NE? This call by the so-called elders is nothing but a birthday ego massaging. Yoruba elders have become praise singers who have their hands out for Tinubu's crumbs. SMH Fashola needs to break away from Tinubu and offer himself for service along with a well respected Northerner or someone from the SE or even SS. Fashola is young enough to serve as VP and then follow that up as President. For the sake of peace, power needs to return to the North under the unwritten agreements. If you doubt that such an agreement exists, ask yourself why ACN could not find a southerner to be its flag bearer during the last election. We have seen enough violence triggered for the most part, by violation of this unwritten rule. The South would have had 6 years in addition to OBJ's 8. Lets do the right thing for the sake of peace. I'm counting on the courts to take the first step of ruling that GEJ cannot contest in 2015, or if he can contest, must leave office after a total of 8 years. If the court rules that GEJ has 2 more years, why would GEJ put the country through the discomfort of another election in 2017? |
deshclones: shut up that pipe hole you call a mouth...its not a must you comment on every thread..use your internet access for something else..like watch mojo and self-service off..the attendant effect will cleanse your wicked hearthGrow up |
Best case scenario, GEJ does not run in 2015. A true leader, strong enough to decisively deal with our problems, with very big ideas of his own, emerges. 6 years of GEJ are most certainly enough. GEJ's weakness will destroy our dear country if he gets additional term in office. I don't care where the next President is from, we just need a befitting leader, GEJ is not that leader. |
In many other countries, such as Vietnam and South Korea, mines are still killing innocent residents decades after their wars ended. Thankfully, the Federal troops were humane enough not to plant mines all over the SE which could have been killing and maiming us today. A bomb said to have been abandoned during the Nigerian civil war over 40 years ago exploded at Oye market in Awgu local government area of Enugu state but there was no casualty, the police said. |
ACM10: Nonsense! You should be ashamed of yourself if you can only find one word to show your disagreement with my post. Try to emulate some of the intelligent youths around here - ekt_bear and others come to mind. Humour me by offering a sensible opposing view, olodo. |
Beaf has been attempting to perpetuate the lies that 99% of the Midwest today will vote not to join the SW if it ever came to that; as they supposedly did in 1963. He has been posting the graphic below from Omoigui's website. www.nairaland.com/attachments/618690_Midwest_gifc8ab793912f73fbfd315c809824d9a07 I challenge Beaf to produce similar data from any other source to corroborate Omoigui's account. Omoigui is a well known revisionists who manufactures his own historical facts. I bet you Itsekiris would rather go with Fulanis than form a country with Ijaws. |
I understand spoken Yoruba fairly well, but my spoken is poor and I can't really read it. I've heard of Ebenezer Obey...but certainly as a kid I wouldn't have been into music that people of my parent's generation/age like. I mostly listened/watched music I saw on TV or heard on the radio. So I tend to like rap, reggae, rock, reggaeton, some country, stuff like that.
I understand. There is a lot of culture and history buried in those old songs, since you understand spoken Yoruba, I'd suggest that you listen to some of those artists for the history lessons buried in the songs. If you understand Hausa or Igbo, listen to those old artists as well. It is unfortunate that historical records are not well protected in Nigeria - Nigerian history, taught in our schools contain too many lies and distortions. BTW, your idea of skins for NL is not bad, why don't you send sample code to the Mods or send them to a web site with such an implementation. My guess is that most people will use the default scheme. Studies have shown than less than 1% of users would select a scheme other than the default. The percentage is lower for sites like NL which are not primarily commercial. |
Nope, never heard of it before the OP posted it.
Do you understand Yoruba at all or were you abroad to Yoruba parents? That story was made popular by Ebenezer Obey in one of his most successful albums. Hope you've heard of Obey commander. |
Heh. That is a pretty nice story actually.
You mean you've never heard this story? @OP, the new color scheme is the best April Fools joke on NL. You people need to take a chill pill once in a while. I bet you, when the color theme you enjoyed yesterday is restored, you'll appreciate it so much that its criticisms will disappear. I think Seun just used brilliance to handle the small boys wey no sabi how to write a single line of code, but are the quickest to become critics. ![]() |
GOOD ONE!!! Sebi they were complaining about the earlier GUI, after dealing with this one, they will appreciate the old GUI. ![]() |
Kobojunkie: @Poster, why am I unable to find an AP source for this news of yours? Its probably April where the poster lives. ![]() |
beaf: Nigeria generate less 60% revenue from oil by Musiwa.
o kare laiye!! ![]() The lazy people who call others parasites have turned out to be the real parasites and barawos. First of all, the 13% derivation should be based on crude oil's contribution to the national pot alone, but instead the 13% is based on revenues from oil, gold, timber, cocoa, solid minerals, and everything else which contributes to the national pot. Additionally they are using contributions from off shore oil, which belongs to every state in the computation. Their game is up, justice will prevail pretty soon. Musiwa!!! you are crazy like a fox, omo Benin. ![]() |
careytommy:Please explain who is spoon feeding who. |
shymmex: I agree with the part of your post bolded in italics - but I disagree with the other bolded part. When are we going to accepting that America don't care about Nigeria nor Nigeria - and they're at the forefront of everything wrong with Nigeria - in alliance with the UK. If America is who you're depending on, I'll prefer we break up - so, US can go phuck itself. The fact remains that the modus operadi of ALL nations is primarily self interest. At this point in US history, their No. 1. enemy is Al Quaeda and they will do all in their power that any part of Nigeria does not become Al Queada stronghold. The realities is that America does care about Nigeria because a destabilized Nigeria could cause a major economic and security problem for America. I submit to you that they (America) will exhaust every means available to them to ensure that the country(Nigeria) does not disintegrate. Its not about depending on America to rescue our country, its a matter of using friendly resources in the best interest of our country. I welcome billions of dollars into Nigeria if the money is used to educate and develop our land. Frankly, I'd appreciate some drones as well so that we can smoke out MEND terrorists and Al Qaeda elements in our country. Two major reasons why Nigeria will not disintegrate anytime soon are (1) Oil (2) Al Quaeda |
Ono and Beaf indubitably suffer from either Grandiose delusion or delusions of grandeur. ![]() |
shymmex: I have checked the Nigerian map, and there is nothing there - which shows that Igbo land is not land locked. You may need to check it yourself again, or are you confusing river Niger with the atlantic ocean? The map you are looking at is meaningless to unrepentant secessionists like Dede1. To Dede1, everything on you map is Igbo land. Additionally, Igwe Ocha (Port Harcourt), Igwe Nga (Opu Obu/Opobo) and Ubani (Bonny) as well as people of Ikwerre and Ekpeye are Igbo and their land is Igbo land. They are not landlocked by any means according to their definition. The only problem is they fought and lost a war in 1969. |
shymmex: After reading the two posts below:The first intellectual exercise is to admit that the disintegration of Nigeria is impossible, whether peacefully or via war. If it is attempted via war, that war will be perpetual like what we have in Somalia with the casaulty rates similar to those of Rwanda. That will never happen here. Peaceful separation is virtually impossible because we'll never agree on the sharing of our joint assets. The best we can hope for is some sort of managed chaos for the next 10 - 20 years. To this end, the USA dismissed assessments that religion was the primary driver of the BH violence. The United States has already approached Nigeria to open a consulate in the flash point city of Kano. A US consulate in Kano would give USA a presence in the north diplomatically but it would also give us an opportunity to expand development assistance activities into the north. The Nigerian government Fed & State has hitherto abandoned the masses in the North resulting in extreme poverty and lack of education. The USA is planning to help correct some of this marginalization while pressuring the Nigerian government to do the same. The Chinese are also going to chip in with these development activities. The current upgrade of the Kano international airport is in furtherance of the development objectives I am talking about. Massive intelligence aid, military training and joint efforts, will dramatically increase to ward off increasing threats by Al Queada. Look for sophisticated amphibian training vessels for the great Nigerian Navy operated by Nigerians with US support to deal with thieving and oil bunkering criminals who are hiding out deep in the creeks. There will be no hiding place for them given the sophisticated technologies that will be used to smoke them out. Its a great time to be a Nigerian. Better days are on their way, secessionists will lose in the end. |
i think a temporary solution may be to create state. to easy tension. ibadan state. south kaduna, akure(akure, owo, akoko) from ondo. igalla/idoma from benue, ijebu state from ogun, coastal from delta, benin state/kogi, biu state from borno, abuja state (include part of niger) 9 state to bring it to 45 state. and remove allocation to local govt. let state allocate money to local govt. increase in allocation to 60% for state and federal 40%
hmmm, go on. |
nex: When MEND started their madness, didn't we say that they were sponored by Gaddafi? But no one listened, but at least Asari Dokubo has admitted that he got training and cash from the Libyan leader before he came to start his NDPVF. Even when The first Abuja bombing happened, didn't Gaddafi rear his ugly head to say Nigeria should split up?Oga nwanne,If the bolded in blue is your convincing evidence that Gaddafi was the sponsor of MEND's, then you need to have your head examined. It is not sufficient to spew nonsence here and then retreat into your hole under the pretext of refusal to respond to insults. You have to give us more than the above to show that Gaddafi sponsored MEND. If you had said some Governors and politicians were sponsors, you would have appeared more enlighted, at least. P.S. Isn't BH sponsored by the Venezuelan government in cohoots with Iran? sebi this is just as reasonable as your Gaddafi claim. |
Onlytruth: For starters, please folks drop the idea that the OP is "smart". The OP is arguably one of the most stooopid and paranoid/cowardly posters on this forum. He has an obsession with Igbo, and actually believes that he cannot survive without the Igbo nation. Call it inferiority complex, call it whatever you want.Eze Igbo NL Gburugburu, Kwusi iti nkpu, agha biafra biri n’aro 1969!! shatap dia; the biafra war was lost, back in 1969. Learn to live and operate in a civil society. Not being a nationalist is not in your best interest. You people still calling for biafra are in the inconsequential minority of Nigerians from the SE. |
@OP, Aru o na-aya gị? why do you people like to take glory and honor when you do not deserve it? The great Ikemba has hardly been buried and you don't have the decency to allow the center to be dedicated to his honor, you are already attempting to steal the honor from him. The name of the center is Ojukwu International Conference Centre and Library. Stop attempting to bastardize the center even before it is built. The center is to honor the great Nigerian, not you or any other group who do not deserve such an honor. What a cheap honor grab. |
Pressure should be increased on GEJ and his cohorts to invest in the education of the marginalized masses up North. Kudos to the USA WASHINGTON (AFP) – The United States said Thursday it wanted to step up development assistance to Nigeria’s restive Muslim-majority north as it urged the Abuja government to address grievances underlying violence. |
Dede1: No, mbaa nu, I do not want trouble. Rather I asked for status quo. Because when a Christian starts to inject Allah in a sentence instead of God, it is time to send for resident doctor. What's your point, in light of what the dictionary states below? World English Dictionary Allah — n Islam: the Muslim name for God; the one Supreme Being [C16: from Arabic, from al the + Ilāh god; compare Hebrew elōah ] |
Beaf: Usman Dan Fodio is a champion only to boko haram types. You are still trying to dodge, I ask you again, "do we need the proverbial Usman Danfodio mentioned in Ciroma's statement?" The obvious answer by any reasonable human should be YES. Who cares where this proverbial leader comes from? I know you undertand how the word "proverbial" is used in that question. Only bigots will prefer to replace Usman Dan Fodio with the name of someone from their region before accepting the statement as valid and truthful. Your objections to Ciroma should not preclude you from accepting a truthful statement by him, neither should the fact that GEJ is from your region preclude you from accepting that he makes mistakes atimes. Drop the bigotry, its not helping you. It makes you appear silly, frankly. @Dede1, you, of all people can translate God to quite a few languages, no? abi you dey find trouble ni? |
Beaf: Is there an ounce of logic in the article you posted?Stop pretending to be a dummy, dummy! You understand exactly what I meant about "letting go of the bigotry that has overtaken you so that we can discuss issues like reasonable Nigerians". You can't dodge me like you typically do when chatting with gullible Nigerians. You cannot with an honest and straight face say that Nigeria does not need the proverbial Usman Danfodio mentioned in Ciroma's statement. You can pretend not to know how to interprete the statement like a wise human being - that will not work with me. I will continue to let breeze blow to open ya yansh each time you screw up and I catch you. Mumu. |
Beaf: You no know before? He is one of their corrupt elite. If you disagree with any of my statements or posts, I'm sure you are smart enough to challenge it and defend your stance, knowing fully well that I will not be deterred by your weird graphics which you use to hide your inferior logic. Stop the childishness of stating with foolish authority, that certain NLers are from one tribe or the other, particularly if they have not told you where they are from. jason123 is a hausa man ko? You have certainly gone mad. olodo, a to si loli. (<==== that's in your Itsekiri native tongue) ![]() |
So Ndu Chucks is an Hausa man. lmao. Mallam get problem ooo
àbi olodó ati òdè ni e ni? CHouse: Pleeeaaassse.....are you insinuating that Dan Fodio whose ideals were rooted in the shedding of innocent blood to actualize his beliefs is who we should be emulating nowTry to measure your IQ as soon as you can, you'd be surprised at what you discover @Beaf, put bigotry aside and we can chat like sensible folks. de tin dey eat you up, buddy. |
It is quite unfortunate that most of the posters here would rather be consumed by bigotry, than to acknowledge the truth in Ciroma's pronouncements. Who among you does not wish that a leader who can clean up the Nigerian mess emerges in 2015 or earlier? The proverbial leader in Ciroma's statement is exactly what we need in Nigeria, and it does not matter where in Nigeria the said leader was born, or his/her ethnicity. I weep for you people. |
Beaf: The leadership of the core-North has gone mad.You can't help but display your bigotry, ko? A single man now makes up the leadership of core-North. SMH. The proverbial Usman Danfodio can come in the form of a new and capable President in 2015 or a nationalist and genius Millitary Officer. May Ciroma's prayers be answered, preferably by God's gift of a real leader and President in 2015. Amu. |
Oro bobo yi ti su mi. ![]() Malam Adamu Ciroma one of the Northern Nigerian elite who in 2012 strongly challenged the jettisoning of zoning in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which enabled Goodluck Jonathan to run, has offered a spiritual answer to the Nigerian conundrum. |
Coldfeet: Chineke! Which hole did you come out from? I partially apologize to Ndu_chucks for calling him a malu because it seems the REAL malu! Ewu gambia! Nwankpi! Aturu! Is you nagoma! Did you drink burukutu before writing dis your post? So lame. What da?? Ihe nile e zughi oke n’ala hausa, does that mean you should be name calling like this? Before you call people malu, je lele onwe gi n’enyo - you don begin make me vex. |
