what i don't understand in your post is, did you mean Boko Haramees are better than Mend or what ?? Mend are far better than Boko haramees, they are kidnapping not taking human shelter, If boko haramees are true born of their fathers let them have a base like mend, let them have a uniform and distinguish themselves from civilian. Let them come out koro koro like Mend. The useless organisation are taking shelter with civilian and carry out their atrocities. If they want to win my support let them unveil their bases. I'm optimistic our brutal armies will lynch them in a night. But now look at the civilian casualities they'r coursing, with a wide merging you can't call haramees warriors and call MEND cowards, unless you are a hypocrite.
Abu-Maryam, believe it or not, I am in complete agreement with what you wrote up there. You asked: “did you mean Boko Haramees are better than Mend or what ??” The answer is, absolutely not. Both organizations have killed innocent Nigerians and as such are criminal murderers. You closed your post with the statement “you can't call haramees warriors and call MEND cowards, unless you are a hypocrite.” Guess what? I am in complete agreement with that statement as well. I’ve never called Boko Haramees warriors. I assumed that your post was written ‘tongue-in-cheek’ or that you misunderstood mine. All I am saying is that MEND is not what it claims to be. dan'uwa na, read my comments to Katsumoto. |
MEND is under no obligation to ramp up their activities just because Boko Haram is. This is pretty silly reasoning, dude.
What kind of an opprobrious post is this? Where in my post did I suggest that MEND is under any obligation to ramp of their activities just because Boko Haram is? Did you read the post at all? Katsumoto:I don’t believe that even you missed the point I was making, stop pretending jor. Competition with Boko Haram ke? What I was attempting to do in the post was to open the yansh of MEND’s, the same way I open yours, FACE’s, and other intellectuals who come here and attempt to rewrite history. If MEND is serious about the emancipation of ND, is this not the right time for them to squeeze the government, now that Boko haram has the gov’t on the ropes? Instead of putting the squeeze on the government when the government would rather not deal with additional problems, they’ve remained completely silent. In the meantime our people in the ND remain poor and marginalized, our land remains polluted, and our youths remain unemployed. No one is saying that MEND should use the same strategy as Boko Haram. |
I've always believed that MEND is an terrorist organization made up of criminal gangs financed by politicians for financial gains. Their calls for self determination of the ND people is nothing but a ruse. They kidnap and bomb innocent citizens, blow up oil installations and pipelines to facilitate their bunkering and criminal activities. At the end of the day, the region remains as polluted as ever, the people remain poorer than church rats. Boko haram is now throwing bombs on a daily basis and has the government on the ropes. One would think that, this would be the best time for MEND to escalate its activities and demands for justice and their own 'nation'. But guess what, MEND has never been about the self determination of the ND people. The thieves and thugs who are members of MEND benefit from the status quo. This is the reason why their sponsors, the thieving politicians and bunkerers have told them to return to their rat holes and remain silent. Since Boko Haram stepped up their game, there has been No bomb threats, no bombing, no kidnapping, no blowing up of major oil facilities e.t.c. by MEND To all members of MEND, I say you have been exposed as common criminals and terrorists. Shame on you people. |
Okorocha is borrowing a leaf from the great General Murtala Ramat Mohammed. This kind of action made Mohammed a loved head of state. He tenure was unfortunately cut short by awon olote. |

May the souls of the dead rest in peace. May the abused women be provided with all the help they need. The sad truth is that the tough Igbo boys who can cut you up in a moment, who are tough enough to deal with this kind of violence, if the story is accurate, Igbo boys who would defend their land and people with their lives, the likes of Eziachi when he was much younger, have unfortunately been lost to the civil war. What we have left are effeminate internet warriors like Ezeuche and other Sisi boys hiding out in diaspora calling for the youth to act. What a shame!! No wonder the former Imo governor single-handedly terrorized them for 4 years to the point of beating their youths and Pastors with belts and cudgels with impunity. Our people talk say: Ihe ka-nte bata n'onu nte, nte etefu (when something wey pass cricket enter cricket hole, cricket go tear race.) That was exactly what happened in this case. Sorry to post this emoticon, but I couldn't help myself. I remember when you people were poking fun at Ekiti people, but I never expected that you were weaker than supposed weaklins. www.nairaland.com/attachments/180447_ROTFLMAO_gif3d0c775232c7f27cf80592785b9635b6 |

May the souls of the deceased rest in peace. What da heck is wrong with you people? Fellow Nigerian citizens who do not belong to the elite class have just been killed in cold blood by equally marginalized Nigerian citizens, yet you people are here flxing muscles which are as soft and weak as those of my lovely 102 year old grand father!! You should be arranging protests and writing letters to your leaders to deal with this new o.rgy of violence in this country. To you irrational posters, I say Egbe ndi Israeli piafuka gi ======= make una no make me vex o. |
Update from TheNation A bomb blast at Fokado Street, off Maiduguri Road in Kaduna, on Sunday left more than 20 people seriously injured. A victim of the blast, Mr. Solomon Aliyu, 34, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) shortly after the incident that the blast occurred around 11:20 p.m., destroying three buildings in the area. Aliyu, who sustained an injury on his left leg from the blast, was treated at a nearby clinic. He said that other victims with serious injuries were on admission and were being treated at Alba and Logus clinics on Constitution Road and Maiduguri Road by Oshogbo Road respectively. Aliyu, who said he was escorted home by soldiers after receiving treatment at the Alba clinic, said that security personnel were combing the area for suspects. The coordinator of the Joint Security Taskforce (Operation Yaki) in the state, retired Col. Gabriel Mamman, could not confirm the blast, but promised to do so after ascertaining the true position of things. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news-update/12056-bomb-blast-injures-20-in-kaduna.html |
Katsumoto:I quoted you when I was attempting to show manny4life that it is foolhardy to blame sanusi for the high inflation in Nigeria because I thought your quoted statement was made in support of his claim. I'm happy to note that unlike the likes of manny4life, you are not blaming Sanusi for this issue. BTW, I will not attempt to lecture you, of all people, on Economics because I know better. We all know that you are an expert in this area - this is also the reason why I believe that this enquiry of yours, as stated in your first post is bogus. |
chamber2:This epistle of yours was unnecessary and should have been saved for your freshmen students. Can you people read at all, who is saying that the money injected did not go into the money supply? The point you misssed was that, that injection alone cannot be blamed for the inflation rate of 10%. olodo. ![]() |
manny4life: Voodoo economics? Katsumoto: You are very funny. How will 5 banks failing increase the money in supply? Money can only be increased through the actions of a Central Bank. Both of you guys don't fool me for a minute. Your posts above suggest that you are ignorant of the causes of inflation by telling us that it was the money which sanusi and CBN pumped into bailing out the banks that are responsible for pushing inflation upwards. This technique of yours amounts to lying with statistics. Yes money supply affects inflation, you however conveniently blame Sanusi's injection for inflation while ignoring the other 2 money supplies (so-called M2 & M3) and several other major factors. Your monetarists explanation of the cause of the 10% inflation is selective at best and probably intellectually dishonest. You all do not need to be educated in Economics so I am not going to waste my time. You all come across as overfed Sanusi haters and elitists, who cannot stand the successes and international recognition achieved by an ordinary Mallam who does not belong to your PhD elitist club. |
I honestly do not think this administration understands the resolve of these people (Boko Haram), there has not been any effective action by the government to deal with the issue of violence by Boko Haram and others. The government's (JTF) response has been to terrorise innocent citizens. In 2010 bombs and rocket launchers from Iran were intercepted by customs officials. Do we know how many were successfully imported? I believe its time to cash in on our friendship with USA and request for drones, electronic surveillance equipment, and other tools for effectively fighting terrorism of the kind we are now experiencing in Nigeria. I believe that the US government knows the sponsors of Boko Haram and must have shared some intelligence with GEJ's government. Some big names need to be arrested with immediate effect. When is GEJ going to round up all the stakeholders for an emergency meeting in Abuja? Why not convene a meeting with IBB, Buhari, Shehu of Bornu, and other Northern leaders in an attempt to find a solution? Is this government waiting for these groups to use their rocket launchers to attack the NASS before they act decisively |
VoodooDoll: Katsumoto:May I recommend that you provide us some data on what your dependable research estimates the inflation and exchange rates would have been, if the CBN under Sanusi had not taken decisive actions to check the excesses of a few bank executives? My guess is Inflation rates would have been closer to 20-22% and USD/NAIRA would have been more like N180. Your sound estimates will enable us to be less inclined at classifying your analysis and Katsumoto’s thanksgiving as essentially based on ‘Voodoo economics’. |
@katsumoto, I'll let you continue with your exercise. You simply seem to have already made up your mind on the questions you raised. That is the root of my objections. Sanusi for president, 2015!! |
Katsumoto. If you are sincere, you'd be more concerned with the expertise of the members of the CBN Board of directors who are charged as follows: "There shall be for the Bank, a Board of Directors (hereafter in this Decree referred to as "the Board" which shall be responsible for the policy and general administration of the affairs and business of the Bank". Do you find expertise in macroeconomic lacking in this board? Do you even know who the members are and their expertise? This is where you should start if you want to be taken seriously. This witch hunt is not useful. |
Why do you claim he has a solid background in macro? The undergrad and possibly masters level courses he took in the 80s you think is enough?
Why are you attempting to help Katsumoto dig out of the hole he dug jimself into? You don't fool me either - you know the point I was making precisely, jo. |
naijaking1:nwannem maramma, You have placed the blame for the dire economic conditions squarely on Sanusi, ko? May I inform you that if only 40% of the looted funds by your politicians, including the N40billion loan obtained by Bankole to fund bogus salaries, had been invested on infrastructure e.t.c the country would not be in the podsition we now find ourselves. This same sanusi, exposed and dealt with the bankers who ruined our economy and several lives due to looting shareholder funds and funds belonging to depositors. Your blame is misdirected o. |
@ekt_bear, for your information the CBN decree states that: "There shall be for the Bank, a Board of Directors (hereafter in this Decree referred to as "the Board" which shall be responsible for the policy and general administration of the affairs and business of the Bank". If CBN takes any action, is is due to the collective action of the Board and not just Sanusi.Katsumoto:You started the thread by claiming that your objective is to educate yourself, I quote you verbatim: "I have decided to start this thread with the objective of educating myself on SLS". You now claim as shown in the bolded text above that Sanusi obviously lacks grounding in macroeconomic theory! Haba! You should have started the thread by declaring that Sanusi is a terrorist and presented that idea for discussion. We are not fools here. |
Katsumoto:What is wrong with you people? Are you admitting that you started this thread for political purposes? This topic belongs in the Business/Money section, period! The thread is even on the front page - what else do you want? I knew you were not interested in discussing Sanusi from the business/money standpoint, but your aim was to attempt to crusify him. You claim you are discussing the economic impact of the CBN - pray tell, is that closer to business/money than politics? abi you sef don join olodos ni? ![]() |
I'd like to believe that many of the posters on this thread are not daft enough to believe that CBN is governed in an autocratic manner. I hope you are not intellectually lazy enough that you have no idea who the decision makers in the CBN are, their qualifications, or their publications. You Nigerians are usually charmed by titles and bragging rights, Dr, this, Engr. that, Quantity Surveyor this, Alhaji Pastor Professor that, e.t.c Publications are good but do not make one, an effective banker. You people should save your Sanusi witch hunt, because some of your intellectual superiors have already answered the questions you are raising. I know you people can google but you refused to do an honest examination but prefer to crucify Sanusi here. It suffices to say that Mallam Lamido Aminu Sanusi was named as the Central Bank Governor of 2010 for both the African continent and the entire world, by the prestigious Banker Magazine. Publication or not! If you are not too lazy, google other international awards he has aquired in his short time in office. I am suspicious of the motive of the author of this thread, a Nler who is definitely not intellectually lazy. |
Seun:This is a key question. Killing of innocent civilians by any group, Boko Haram or the Army is an act of cowardice and a disgrace. I'm afraid JTF and the Army is ill-equipped to fight Boko Haram. The buck stops with the President who is the commander-in-chief. He needs to act very urgently and protect innocent and unarmed civilians from these senseless killings. |
GEJ, GEJ,GEJ!!! London is burning o. Act now. After a short lull in violent activities, Nigerian islamists group, Boko Haram, resurfaced yesterday in Maiduguri tossing a bomb at the Joint Task Force in Kaleri, London Chiki ward and starting a fire fight with the military men after the bomb exploded.http://saharareporters.com/news-page/boko-haram-explodes-several-bombs-less-24-hours-military-task-force-defuse-bomb-carried-10 |
GEJ, GEJ, GEJ!!! Hpw many times I call ya name?? London is burning o.!!! How in the world did the prisoners smuggle in AK47 machine guns, and IEDs? These are dangerous times. The lives of two prison warders and other security agents at the Warri Central Prisons, Warri, Delta State, hung in the balance yesterday after they were shot by prisoners who successfully staged a jail break at the medium security prison. |
naijaking1:ngwannu, Your point (1) above may be factual, but so what? It does not make Sanusi or Mattalab Sr. a terrorist. Point (2) only shows that Mutallab saw in Sanusi what people like you did not. Sanusi was successful beyond most people's expectations as the head of First Bank. His success there was a major factor in his nomination for the CBN job. Here again, your conjecture does not make Sanusi or Muttalab Sr. a terrorist. Poiny (3) proves nothing just like the other points you made. Please indulge me and name any positive thing about Islam, I already know you can find quite a few negatives. |
What a sad development. This is the satellite which was going to be used to fish out terrorist hideouts and smoke them out with drones. Which Alhaji is in charge of operation? |
@PapaBrowne & naijaking1: You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for attempting to assasinate the characters of Sanuni and Muttalab with irresponsible conjecture based on bigoted biases. You people should be decent enough to acknowledge that Muttalab reported his own son to US authorities - is this act typical of a terrorist? una don fall my hand today. |
I feel bad for Aganga
Why do you feel bad for Aganga? He is still a member of the President's cabinet with the portfolio of Commerce and Investment. He is more capable of running that ministry than that of finance while Ngozi is the best fit for Finance. This development is good for the country. I applaud his public service. |
What on earth is Christian banking? What is Christian civil jurisprudence? When did Nigeria support or implement either?
hehehe, Malam ekt_bear, Negro_Ntns has ann excellent and valid point. You of all people should know that Judeo-Christian morality and their substance has been woven into Western jurisprudence and that our laws are based upon the said western jurisprudence. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, buddy. ![]() |
to my opinion it is another form of banking, where instead of charging interest, the people who take loans from this system share in the profits of the bank,” she said.Would someone be kind enough to explain what Ngozi means by the statement above? How can people who obtain loans from the bank share in the bank's profits? Why should a person obtain a no-interest loan, use the money for his own benefit and then turn arround and share in the bank's profit? I heard her make the statement on TV. My question is, was madam on Ogogoro when she made that statement? |
