The Federal Government led by GEJ is squarely responsible for the security of all Nigerians. What are his plans to safeguard the security of these herdsmen and farmers alike?

The current administration continues to fail Nigerians as far as security is concerned - sooner or later, these security problems will start happening very close to the decision makers prompting actions that would be too little too late. Its time to allow each state to have his own police force.

Malam Eziachi: Don't worry yourelf, its just that some of us tend to see beyond our toes.

One day you shall thank the MASSOB people for liberating you northern masses from the clutches of your Emperors and allow the likes of Buhari to give you a good governance with or without oil SS/SE in your own self govern nation.
Nwannem, Malam Eziachi, I'm not sure that you yourself see beyond your toes as you stated.  Why are we going to have any cause to thank MASSOB for liberating the Northern masses and allow the likes of Buhari to give us good governance? Have you quickly forgotten that it is the overwhelming support of your likes, other MASSOB members, and the rigging machinery of your region that prevented the very liberation which you now claim you people will be thanked for?

One thing is certain in my mind though, you will not support violence. That's a good thing. I hope you will categorically reject any suggestion that your MASSOB will be led into terrorist acts beyond those they've already perpetrated.

And no one is giving me a Dikko treatment, for a start I am not a Nigerian and never had a Nigerian passport either unlike Dikko, unless you are planning to abduct a British subject in his own country.
Malam Eziachi, as long as you have not renounced your Nigerian citizenship, I'm afraid you are still a Nigerian, even if you do not have a Nigerian passport. Being one of those decorated biafran war veterans who had to run away along with Ojukwu and others, you are actually more Nigerian than most people. Your attrocities have been forgiven, just as Ojukwu and other biafran veterans of the civil war were forgiven. You may even be eligible for some benefits. No foreign government can protect you from Nigeria, when the Dikko treatment is metted out to you.

I know that you are still fighting the civil war in your head and one of your combat scenarios is to support MASSOB because you think they are fighting for the same thing you fought for during the civil war. I have great news for you, buddy, the freaking war was over some 40 years ago. You lost the war, move on.

If not how can anyone with brain not to understand what Uwzuruike actually said, not the attractive headline that had no bearing on the content?

The man is saying that by the action of Nigerian govt regarding violent organisations like MEND/BOKO HARAM shows that they listened or respects violence than peace. He mentioned how despite MASSOB's ideology of a free Biafran state out of Nigeria using peaceful means, no govt of Nigeria has deem it fit to invite them for a talk or anything, rather they get arrested and gullaged in various Nigerian prisons and many of them killed in the last 2 yeaars.

I am saying it today that, I congratulate the Boko Haram people and I wish they will continue in their efforts and if I have my way, I will join them.”

Politics › Massob To Join Boko Haram - Uwazuruike, Leader Threatens: I May Join Boko Haram by nduchucks(op): 8:18am On Jun 20, 2011
Wonders shall never end.

Uwazuruike, MASSOB leader threatens: I may join Boko Haram

The leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has threatened that his group may abandon its non-violent approach and toe the line of the Boko Haram since the Federal Government understands the language of violence.

Uwazuruike, in an exclusive interview with Daily Sun in Owerri at the weekend said both groups were calling for the division of the country in different ways, saying while the Boko Haram adopted violence approach to press their demands, the latter (MASSOB) engaged in non-violent method to achieve the same objective.

According to him, it had taken MASSOB over 12 years preaching the gospel of Biafra sovereignty through non-violence, government had not deemed it necessary to invite the group for discussion but regretted that within a short space of time of the Islamic group’s bomb attack across the country, government had extended olive branch to it. “I congratulate them because it has taken me more than 12 years to preach the same language that they are saying today that Nigeria needs to be divided at least between Christians and Moslems, but the Federal Government has ignored me for 12 years.”

“Now, within a very short space of time the Boko Haram people have said the same thing I was saying through non-violence, the Federal Government has invited them and of which the group, (Boko Haram) has ignored the government and continue what they are doing.” The MASSOB leader made it clear that if he had his way, the group would join the Boko Haram and the entire nation would be in flames, since it was the only language the Federal Government understood.

“I am telling you that if I have my way now, I will join the Boko Haram and the entire country will turn into crisis, since it is what the Federal Government wants. I am saying it today that, I congratulate the Boko Haram people and I wish they will continue in their efforts and if I have my way, I will join them.” He regretted that, whenever the MASSOB embarked on a peaceful demonstration, government, through its security agencies would clamp down on them, even maiming and killing them in the process.

He, however, advised the Boko Haram not to bomb the rural areas, where common people reside, but, should focus attention on those who were clamouring for oneness of the country because of what they gained from the national treasury. He dismissed the insinuations that members of the Boko Haram group were invisible, alleging that some members of the nation’s security agencies belonged to the sect. Alleging further, the MASSOB leader said the Boko Haram were being sponsored by top politicians and business tycoons in Nigeria.

Uwazuruike, who dismissed those who claimed that members of the Islamic group were invisible, said the sect were human beings made up of flesh and blood but decided to make themselves invisible because they were committing crimes. He warned: “It is not only the Boko Haram that can throw bombs and they are not the only people that are courageous to be suicide bombers, any other person who believes in whatever he is doing can be a suicide bomber, but we are considering the fact that we can still achieve the same purpose by peaceful means without anybody dying.”

Politics › Re: If You Were To Be Nigeria President What Will You Do To The Boko Haramics by nduchucks: 8:07am On Jun 20, 2011
These extremists have perpetrated violent acts of war agaist Nigeria and the government must respond in kind. The best way to deal with the problem is to arrest the leaders of these groups and their financial backers, try them for treason promptly and punish them accordingly. Identifying these leaders and financial backers should be very easy. Infact we should already know who they are - we need strong leadership with the will to arrest and deal with the criminals no matter how powerful they may be.

Secondly, these extremists congregate in camps and other millitary facilities disguised as religious facilities, where they plan, train, and blackmail innocent, less sophisticated Nigerians. Our secrete services personnel must infiltrate these groups and identify times and locations of important meetings they hold. Once that is done, we attack them and spare no one. I'm sure our friends arround the world will be more than willing to help us with communication support and drones for effective action against these people.

I truly do not believe that our commander in chief is up to the task at hand, but I hope I am dead wrong on this. Arresting 58 Boko Haram members, none of whom are in leadership positions, is laughable. If the prompt action needed is not carried out immediately and urgently, it will surely be done when a suicide bomber attacks NASS or Aso Rock.

This is becoming unbearable, the level of theft with impunity leaves one dumbfounded.

Former Speaker of Nigeria's House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole, facing trial for mismanaging funds meant for parliament, was this morning granted bail by Justice Donatus Okorowo of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

But he was rearrested within the court premises by operatives of the anti-graft agency - the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He is to be arraigned at a Federal Capital Territory High Court for another alleged mismanagement of funds. In the course of investigation, the EFCC discovered that Bankole obtained another 12 billion naira loan on behalf of the House of Represenbtatives three days to his exit from office.

He will be arraigned in this latest case alongside his former deputy Mr. Usman Nafada

naijaking1: What's been going on is the use of the instruments of the state to surpress Igbos to the advantages of those who percieve themselves as winners of the civil war.

If you remove the federal clog and energy deviced to hold Igbos down, you'll notice a nearly even playing field. Individually, everybody knows the Igbos remain superior overall.
I’m afraid the condition you described will remain as long as your Igbo leaders continue to support these instruments of state and even head many of the organizations which you claim are used to surpress Igbos. None of the devices you claim are used to keep Igbos down would be effective without your fellow Igbos and so-called leaders making sure that the condition remains. These leaders don’t give a hoot about your plight as long as they are compensated handsomely and make enough money to keep several generations of their families wealthy.

The disgraceful feud being discussed is not surprising to observers like me. This self destructive behaviour of the Yorubas is why one of their sons, Chief H. Ogunde wrote a play and a song titled Yoruba Ronu (Yoruba think)

Here's is my rendition of one or two stanzas from the song (pardon me for the typos) :

Yoruba nse ra won nitori owo
Yoruba nj'irawon lese nitori ipo

won gbe'bi fun alare, won gbe are fun eni'bi
won pe ole ko wa ja, won tun pe oloko wa mu (dem call tief make him come steal from farm, then come call farmer to come catch de tief)

ogbon ti won da togbe won dele ola    (na de sense wey carry dem reach top of de mountain)
ogbon na lo pada wa si gbe won san le  (wey come back troway dem for valley)

The last two lines should be instructive to Tinubu and other political jobbers lurking arround this thread. Eko ile, se iwo mo yoruba ka - se you sabi read Yoruba?
