This was the same story we were told after the first major Abuja bombing by MEND elements.  We were told then that FBI linked Al Quaeda to the bombing:

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-580856.0.html

I quote from the thread above
It is noteworthy that "a link between Al Qaeda and the Henry Okah's flank of MEND is currently giving investigators and prosecutors in South Africa a serious concern as to the strength, dynamics and connection of the Nigerian militant group. Okah is said to have arms deal with Al Qaeda network."  http://www.pointblanknews.com/News/os4086.html

There is no doubt that Al Quaeda will use religious extremists, MEND, or any other group to achieve their goals.
Today GEJ' government is telling the world the same story i.e. Al Quaeda is linked to the bombing.

In my humble opinion, this is the greatest cop out by GEJ's government to date. It is an awful admission that they will not be able to stop terrorist acts in  Nigeria, since even, the USA has not been able to stop Al Quaeda.

Enough of this lies and crap by this incompetent government. They need to do the needful and arrest this situation before it gets out of hand.

I'm not going to bother to respond to some of the ridiculous and narrow minded responses to my original post on this thread.  We have people like 'Cold' quoting from a judgement from a case which is absolutely unrelated to the issue at hand in a lame attempt to sound knowledgeable, while his post is filled with ignorance.

The very name MASSOB (Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra) is offensive/criminal and each public activity by such a group by default is treasonous, all of its members belong in jail. The last attempt at actualizing biafra cost enough lives, yet some of you people are still not sober.

Did these people obtain the necessary permit to assemble in such a large number? I don't believe you can blame law enforcement officers for enforcing the law. There is always trouble where 100s of members of armed and unarmed vigilante groups roam around the street without  necessary authorization. Why must GEJ cheapen the presidency by interfering in an ordinary law enforcement affair while ignoring more pressing security issues.

Politics › Re: Rumor Of Boko Haram Plan To Bomb Lagos – How True? by nduchucks: 1:11pm On Aug 28, 2011
hehehehe, look at armchair and internet army brigade  boys threatening reprisal attacks and vigorous warfare!!  cheesy

Many of you useless youths should be in Abuja vigorously protesting against the government for not protecting the country from these attacks. War has started already, our capital city was bombed for crying out loudly!!  The response of the government is that, it is Nigeria's turn to experience terrorism - what a master stroke of genius!

Boko Haram's objectives have been clearly stated, yet GEJ and his incompetent handlers do not believe them.  Given that there is basically no meaningful security measures  in place, Boko Haram's natural next step would be to set off simultaneous explosions in Lagos and Por Harcourt. Maybe this action will allow GEJ and his team to understand the gravity of the situation Nigeria is in.

The biafrans are probably jubiliating at these developments, some of them may even be closet Boko Haram financiers - never underestimate my people  lipsrsealed

To you fools threatening to deal with  my people in Lagos if Boko Haram strikes, I remind you of this saying by my people : Okuko na-arogoro ite onu, chetekwe mma gburu ya. (The chicken frowns at the cooking pot, ignoring the knife that killed it.)

Don't be surprised that some of the people behind the terrorists in  Nigeria are intimately close to the government of the day, and are in fact high level government officials. If these people were not fished out when MEND was carrying out its own murderous atrocities, I wouldn't expect N1billion to fish them out this time around.

Truth be told, in a parliamentary system of government, GEJ's regime would have been a goner by now, due to the gross incompetence it has shown in handling very serious security breaches. I urge NASS to prepare impeachment articles and start impeachment proceedings ASAP, before these nut jobs run the country aground.

By the time a suicide bomber attacks NASS or Aso Rock, these incompetent fools will realize that we are at war. What is GEJ afraid of, the cat is already out of the bag, we need to start reading about the arrest of some very very big fish, who finance these terrorists. Arrest Boko haram finaciers and MEND financiers Now!!! You know who they are!!

I would have thought you would expand on these "verifiable facts." No?
Oga, maybe the "verifiable facts" are the Worlds best kept secret, but we still demand to know. Why do you think Gaddafi should be kept in power, when he is a bestial dictator that has been in power for 42 years and uses jet fighters and bombs to quell riots?

Lets forget about the fellow Nigerian men and women Gaddafi has executed like chickens for no reason, I see they don't matter to you. I am waiting to be enriched by your arguments. angry
Your newfound dodging mechanism will not work this time pally. This is not about whether Gaddafi should be kept in power or not - that issue is being addressed by his people with Nato's help. dat one no concern me.

The real issue is the gross incompetence of GEJ's handlers, they keep helping him to stick his foot in his mouth, over and over again. GEJ is a good man, but he needs to get rid of many in his inner circle. We are at war and this government is doing nothing to protect Nigeria and Nigerians. Our capital was attacked for crying out loudly!! When are they going to round up the supporters and financiers of these terrorists groups?

Lets hope they are not waiting for NASS or Aso Rock to be attacked by suicide bombers before they move. They need to bring in the Israelis ASAP. Let them help us clean up this mess, after which we kick them out of the country promptly.

It may be time to start impeachment proceedings against GEJ and get a President, who can competently provide for our safety, in place. Even a blind man could see that GEJ would be handed a country which would be ungovernable after he foolishly thought he could ignore an important gentleman's agreement, simply because his handlers told him it was OK. Olodo.

Over 10 bombings since he came to power - what a pity.

I beg to differ.

Gaddafi recently made the unfortunate comment that Nigeria should be divided along religious lines. He is a flippant man not deserving of any respect, I'm quite shocked at your effusion of praise for him, because he deserves only scorn.
I suppose GEJ and Nigeria must respond to Gaddafi's stupidity and undiplomatic statements with the same, ko? Thats kinda dumb. I am not praising Gaddafi but only stating verifiable facts.

Just so you know, the irresponsible policies and theft of your hero government officials and leaders have caused the deaths of more Nigerians than 100 Gaddafis could ever imagine.
Politics › Re: Nigeria &south Africa In Face Off Over Jonathan's Irresponsible Comment On Libya by nduchucks: 8:49pm On Aug 26, 2011
Love him or hate him, but Gaddafi shunned the Arabs and associated with the African continent while the going was good. He wanted to build a better Africa for us and wanted to have nothing to do with Al Quaeda. This is one of the reasons why the Arab leaugue took the unprecedented step of supporting Nato action against Gaddafi. Gaddafi's activities in the AU are commendable.

The clueless handlers of GEJ had no business enabling him to make such a statement against Gaddafi. Such statements by GEJ could not have helped Nigeria or GEJ. It only makes GEJ appear to be a puppet, a thing that could invite Al Quaeda activities such as the one we saw today in Abuja. awon olodo
Politics › Re: Obj Vs Ibb: You’re An Ingrate, Fani- Kayode Tells Obasanjo by nduchucks: 10:51am On Aug 22, 2011
OBJ has several cases to answer to, the least of which are not (a) His role in the privatization grand theft, (b) Haliburton grand theft, (c) $16billion electrical energy/power grand theft. He belongs in jail in my humble opinion - providence will catch up with him sooner or later.

As for IBB, he has not been close to ruling the country for several decades hence cannot be accused of recent grand theft. Whatever he may have been accused of stealing must have been wisely invested because the man owns 70% of the oil blocks in the gulf of Guinea and does not even own any blocks in Nigeria.  When OBJ was in power, he asked people who were accusing IBB of mismanaging(stealing) from government coffers to produce evidence, and no one showed up. That does not mean that IBB is a saint, again in my humble opinion, he too belongs in jail along with OBJ.

Having said all of the above, I don't think any rational mind should disagree with Fan-Kayode's statements. OBJ is indeed an ingrate. All the points made by Fani-Kayode to support his claims are valid.

I have no respect whatsoever for either IBB or OBJ because each of them had a chance to take Nigeria to the promised land, but instread chose to secure the financial futures of their families and cronies, while leaving Nigerians in the cold. For this, Saddam Hussein's treatment or Mubarak's treatment or the Shah of Iran's fate awaits them all.

I expect you mature NLers to address the issues raised sensibly and stop the insults and name calling. I have been having meaningful discussions with Beaf on various issues for a few years now and he is generally open-minded and sensible (excluding his charade during the presidential elections). The elections are over and you people should bury your daggers and address issues that will affect generations of Nigerians amicably.

The fools who are robbing or have robbed us blind come from all parts of the country. From Ibori to IBB, OBJ, Uduaghan(spell), all former governors and current governors, and I venture to say, 99.99% of office holders in Nigeria. These thieves expct the youths like you people, to be engaged in tribalism and self hatred because this will remove the focus on them. You will be double fools if you allow their deceit to continue.

IBB was stoned in Zaria, several Emirs' palaces were attacked in protests, while I prefer peaceful protests by the youths, you all should be attacking the thieves in your regions on every level.

Now Beaf, I know you have attacked and opposed Ibori in the past, so what is this accusation by the OP?  I believe Beaf does not have any interest in covering up for these thieves, he is bigger than being unable to call a spade a spade in this case - abi you know those in power in Delta state personally ni? Or do they know who you are, like I do?  If so I don't blame you for  being too careful since these people are known murderers and assasins. But nwannem, at some point, hair must grow on balls.

I dont know how else to tell you, perhaps you should go back to the sh1t-hole you crawled out from and have a chat with some of your almajiri teachers, perhaps they may be able to enlighten you that without you providing substantial evidence, no one will take your word for it that humanitarian works of the governors for an ill elder statesman does in anyway constitute breaking the law. Ojukwu is not a goverment official quite alright, but only a clown, a fool, or hypocrite will fail to understand that Ojukwu is more than a government official to the people of SE. Ojukwu is a living legend! Grow up!
If Ojukwu means so much to you people, why can't you raise the funds from personal contributions to help Ikemba? If a fund raising campaign was undertaken by these thieving governors, they would have raised more than enough money to fund Ikemba's medical expenses. I'm sure loud mouths like you are yet to contribute one kobo towards Ikemba's expenses - this is how you show your love ko?

I still contend that your hypocrisy has blinded you to that fact that your beloved Yar Adua spent months in the hospital abroad, and never bothered setting up a mega hospital to take care of his himself and his subject while he was alive. There is still no concerted efforts by the Northern Governors to set up such health center that you recommended. And as we speak, there is no concerted effort to tackle polio, illiteracy, and poverty in the North. But hypocrites like you would not comment on such issue, nor condemned your leaders in the North for their myopia. You would rather spill your spleen on humanitarian efforts of the SE Governors to save a senior Statesman.

The point you fail to realise is that, whether you like it or not, the SE will always hold Ojukwu in high esteem; and life is very much valued in the SE. So you can rant and rave all you like, the fact remains that South Easterners will commend the efforts of these governors regardless of what your type say.

I personally think that what they are doing is in order, and no law has been broken. So please eat your hearts out friend, no one pays attention to your concern in this matter.  Channel your efforts advising your Northern leaders on eradication of polio, illiteracy, and extreme poverty in the core North (NW, NE)!
I'm convinced that you have a major problem with reading comprehension in addition to being afflicted with other cognitive ailments. The issue is that your governors are breaking the law by allocating state funds for medical expenses of a person, though loved by the Igbos, but is not a government official.  Open a new thread to discuss polio or any other issue you wish. No amount of distraction tactics of yours will change the facts as I have  stated them. Ojukwu himself will strongly disagree with stealing from the public, on his behalf.

A genuine idea that can unify Nigeria is been seen as an Igbo/Christian stratagem to conquer the North.
Why should we continue to be one nation?   huh
Progressive minds will not oppose the idea, I believe Buhari and IBB proposed the same idea during their campaigns. You people need to stop quoting faceless politicians and assigning their purported views to those of a whole region.

Your statement:

I hate hypocrisy and your veiled attempt to treat the Igbo nation in a condescending way.
So, suddenly , you are awake to realize that state funds may be the source of the governors funds for Ojukwu's bills.
Where were you when Umaru Yar Adua was overseas for almost a year and his bills paid from the Federal government coffers? Now you are here trying to insult us with your harebrained sanctimoniousness.

Aboki abeg clear for road biko! angry angry
The problem with you irresponsible enablers of the thieving governors is that you fail to see anything wrong with their blatantly wrongful act. You accuse anyone who points your foolery out, of being hypocrtical.  Let me remind you that Umaru Yar'Adua was our head of state when state funds were used for his medical treatment. Is Ikemba the President or even a government official? The point is, these governors could have raised funds from private sources instead of stealing from the public to pay  Ojukwu's medical bills. Once again, shame on all of una!!

You people should take a queue from the principled people who stoned IBB in Zaria instead of idol worshipping him, like you are all worshipping these thieving governors.

I think ridding Northern Nigeria of polio, should not be a rocket science, and people like Ahl Harem, and Ndu_chucks, should spend more time telling us what the Northern Governors have done to get rid of this simple disease from the North, rather than condemning remedial action taken by their counterparts in other Zone. This hypocrisy is disgusting to say the least!
Neither this thread is nor my post is about polio, in case you are too illiterate to read. The focus is on your irresponsible governors who are illegally spending state funds. Ojukwu deserved to be helped through his illness by Ndigbo. However, I believe that Ojukwu himself would condemn the illegal uses of states fund on his behalf. The governors'  forum should raise funds by other means to fund  Ojukwu's medical expenses. It is disgraceful to spend money which could have been used to support health facilities which treat premature babies, to fund any government official's medical expense, let alone that of a private citizen.

These governors should be jointly sourcing for funds to build a first class regional medical center in the East in Ojukwu's name instead of this illegal use  of state funds. If these narrow minded governors had built these medical facilities, Ojukwu would not have gone in exile for a second time. The man deserves to spend his remaining days with the Igbo people who love him. Shame on all of una. embarassed
