ilugunboy: Let's stop deceiving ourselves ...the spirit of this idea left with the originator of the idea....we can pretend as much as we want to believe otherwise though.

Afam not been the originator will always find it a tough call to measure up with keeping up...Seun should simply stop forcing a reluctant person to continue with what he doesn't have flair for ..

We either find a way to accommodate Jarus to continue with his baby or we start with a brand new and fresh initiative.

....but the originator of the idea himself had drifted away from the original intent and had surrendered to process instead of strategy for collectng proposal-rich and politically actionable ideas.

i join voice with you and ask what is the goal of the debate and what accomplishments or forward progress is it expected to produce? so far it has produced one thing, which in all aspect is not a surprise, we are different and our views are varied. we dont need a monthly debate to realize this fact.

What is the connection between the stars or planets and people's futures?

lmao...this is a million dollar question. i have given detailed analysis of this part of creation many times before. im not willing to do the chapter by chapter, verse by verse interpretation again. however, if you will post the chapters and verses of genesis which discuss creation from the opening with voidness to the expulsion from eden, i will share the connection.

So when is the next debate? Will we still have a January one or would it be February.

Seun, with 1 million members and millions more in terms of guests on your forum, you need to realize that you have a HUGE PUBLIC platform for WHATEVER you want to say. Your forum alone gives you a louder voice in this society than most politicians would ever have. I am not exxagerating when I say that one day, if you choose to become Nigerian President, merely announcing your candidature on this forum would leap you massively ahead.

As such, you must recognize this for what it is: not just an AD bizness; it is a VOICE.

You can make of that voice what you will bro.

But it starts with taking little things like the debates seriously.

You have done very well, and if I was Bill Gates; I would make you a huge offer to buy this forum from you.

hey man, ..it is really shocking to witness the way and manner with which nairaland administrators resolve disputes within their own fold. if this was a city or a state these guys will be the governor. we are expecting to see fashola in them but they are displaying rochas. shame!

What is ephemeris?

ephemeris is the computation of planetary positions using reference points such as azimuth and meridian to give angular locations.

example:

jupiter is occupying leo and at 35 degrees to pluto in the eight house.

in short, i wuld luv 2 b an ASTROLOGER

keep it up bro....your style is awesome!

many people are skeptical of astrology for the vrry reason that bad astrologers put themselves in position of god and giving predictions rather than advise. astrology is not fortune telling, it is an unveiling of the strengths and challenges facing the client . this serves as an empowerement for the client to act on to mitigate a malevolent challenge, and or to activate a benevolent strength. the astrologer shares, the client acts!

Good question. I doubt if there are totems or body marks as family identifications. I may be wrong. The Omo n Oba however has a leopard as a symbol of Royal strength. Does every other member of the extended Royal Family? I could for a fact tell you they do not.
Greetings is all I know.

as i read the beginning part of this thread i saw many similarities with yoruba words and i knew this would be the case but the lineage greeting came as a surprise. this is the equivalent of yoruba oriki. this is only good for someone living. a dead person cannot recite oriki or greet back, so in times of war..(.and bini fought many..)..how did bini identify its dead sons and which body belong to what family? yoruba used body tattoo and facial mark to achieve positive identification for both its living and dead.

to those who denigrate islamic law. atrocities such as this should be tried under sharia. i can imagine the pain and trauma suffered by this child. this is the outer physical scar, there is an inner invisible one that we dont see. when this flesh scar heals, the inner trauma continues to haunt the child into adulthood.

if i was the sitting grand khadi of the sharia trial my judgement would be an award to this young girl of an assessed damage in an equity of 50% of her mistress' trade inventory, to be converted immediately. in addition, a 25% award in monetary compensation of the total monetary asset belonging to the mistress. this is compensation for the child's pain and torture.

i will then try the case of theft. if the child is found guilty of the theft, her suffering shall be enough as punishment. if the mistress is found to have accused the child falsely, i shall penalize her further by assessing another 25% of what is left of her monetary assets, after the first award portion is taken out, and give it to her victim.

bokohalal: There are said to be eighty-four Bini families. The Bini is known by his Morning Greeting. Each of the eighty-four families has a unique morning greeting. Every Bini male or female is supposed to know the way in which his or her family greets. Infact, if there is anything a Bini would teach his child, even if born in Samoa or Tajikistan,it is his family morning greeting. So, if two Binis who have never met all their live get to know that they greet the same way, right away they know they are related.

...good job bokohalal! this contribution is long overdue.

in response to the eighty four families and their greetings, are these families divided into totems and do you know if each has a tattoo or some body mark or symbol for identification, outside of just greeting or verbal exchange?

I couldn't help noticing the frequent use of the word 'may'. Are there a lot of uncertainties in astrology?

The response given by adex to this question is very true. From a professional perspective, the astrologer sees a lot more than is shared with the client. The astrologer has an obligation to protect and safeguard the wellbeing of the client. The untimely delivery of a message could end up bringing an opposite effect in the hands of a client undergoing growth in an area of their life. All readings are opportunities that favor the client and which would require little effort on their part to bring to fruition, if they apply themselves to act on the reading.

A reader will never say you are going to be rich....but may say the cultivationof certain discipline (for instance literary skills) may open the window into new discoveries for prosperity and well being later in life.

Ngodigha:
At the moment, probably Ndigbo doesn't have a very true leader. We know it and because of that we rely on our socio-cultural organisation to fill this vacuum for now. But in the past, we had leaders such as Osadebey, Azikiwe, Mbakwe, Ojukwu, Okpara, Akanu Ibiam etc.
But if any fool can say Ndigbo has no leaders, then they should tell us who has produced better leaders than Ndigbo.

.....ojukwu took igbo nation backward, a retrogade! . leadership is a forward and progressive motion.

the central style of governance require that the component members compromise and negotiate intetests mutually. this is counter to the igbo socio-cultural outlook where self-sufficiency, rather than mutual dependence is the accepted way of life.

similarly, in a non-allied and self-dependent social order, the igbos will naturally fit in and excel but yoruba and hausa will have a terrible time surviving it. then between yoruba and hausa there are even more filters that work for one but not for the other.

this is why a dissolution is better than a unity.

This is really very curious indeed. We start a worthy tradition for monthly politics debates; the third edition is about to hold; the thread suddenly disappears; and when we come here to inquire after it, there is absolute silence from the owner, admin and moderators - notwithstanding that the debate should have held today. I am deeply disappointed.

However, it just means that there is nothing more to debate: because this conduct alone by the NL managers answers every single question about why Nigeria is the way it is.

Sad.

....it is unfortunate!

when talking about political leadership igbo is not anywhere in the band of qualified contenders......we really need to stop throwing igbo in the mix on national politics. if there's a rating for political weight, on a scale of AAA to CCC and where the triple A is the top dawg, in descending order igbo will be CAA.

take dat: That is why some have attributed the rise in terrorism in Northern Nigeria to State failure to address the needs of the people. Foreign intervention is always the last resort and the fall out of humanitarian crisis that will accompany such intervention in Nigeria will also make the West to tread softly on this BH issue. there are still amicable ways to contain the islamists in Nigeria since it has a political colouration added to it unlike Mali where it is strictly religion coupled with ethnic and seperatist tensions.

you are pushing an abstract thinking that is totally irreconciliable with reality on ground. to say boko is not religious but political is kinda like saying mend is religious, not political or massob is religious and not political.

when will boko become religious, when they occupy most of the country?
