Wrong Andre. Edo do not need to spend time in Yorubaland to speak the language, they already are speaking it as a dialect. Yoruba - Oba a pe l'aye Edo - Oba a to k'paye. Meaning: may the King live long! |
Andew, Is that the best counterpoint you can offer? If majority of you live in the state then you have more than enough generated revenue to cover kerosene purchase and do not need reliance on govt hand outs. If that's true, then your Gov has no better things to do with money and ideas. He is addressing situations that do need govt intervention. |
Ike, Good point! |
Mod, Plse relocate all foreign news to foreign affairs section. |
May he rest in peace! |
Besides, I think my discussion on welfare need to be on a post talking about progress in Yorubaland. SE can do whatever they want. As for Nigeria, it should be dissolved. |
Ok, do we agree that we need a welfare program in Nigeria? If we agree to that, what areas should be targeted for the programs? How is it formulated and what will the structure look like? How is it deployed, implemented and measured for success? How is it funded? |
Eko ile, tell 'em! Eh, rusellino, leave that guy alone. Let him preach! |
<quote> As a small mind you need to ask colonial masters why Great Zik was made the first President of Nigeria, </quote> We know why; the colonialist needed someone comfortable in a puppet role. Awo was not, he challenged the colonialists calim of superiority. If you were the CEO of a company in which you own 80% shares and you are retiring but need to retain control, who would you hand over control to, the executive who many believe is the best and most competent to take the company forward but who on numerous occassions had questioned your high stock ownership and the legality of your interest or another less competent executive that is a free-going spirit and has nurtured interest to increase your stock by additional 10%? Zik's interest in nationalism is to sustain the British interest of 1914 - it was too costly to manage both Northern and Southern interests, cojoin them. Awo wanted separation, a de-congregation, long before East had a clue what was going on. Zik wanted that congregation of North and South to continue for the British interests. So who do you think colonialists favored as President? |
Government should implement practicsal and measurable results. Food is a necessity. If mothers can't feed their families due to kerosene scarcity then a more robust solution is needed than just a reactionary hand out. What is that robustness and how can it be sustained as a goverment welfare programme? |
Koruji, In comparison to SE, Osun citizens are not far flung from home. Regardless, its a bad policy and in reference to calling it a shor term solution, this is not a solution by any timeline, minute, short or long! These Governors lack ideas and foresight. What is the problem they are attempting to solve with the free kerosene approach? |
This is what I call "fluffy"! The majority population of Imolites live outside the state. The population of people in the state is far less than the migrant population that are distributed outside that state. So this free kerosene programme is nothing compared to population density Governors in West have to cater to. Tell Rocha to attract Imolites back home with some better incentives. They will not come home for Kerosene. Besides, if free kerosene is a measure of good governance by Eastern standards, then Rochas is not even a match for any consideratuon to presidential post. Not saying that SE is a contender for 2015, but just to highlight where Rocha, the best of all SE goevrnors, stand on the scale of executive accomplishments. |
Ak, Its not about the population in Anambra; I'm addressing a ratio of those who have left against the few left behind and that the money is better spent on incentives that will attract those migrants back home. Governor Obi should try free-tax development plan. The government will give X number of years as tax waivers to any business resettling back home. This is just an example to attract inestment, there are many many more ways to build up Anambra. I will be a good consultant if Governor Obi need my ideas. Lol! |
After more than half your citizens have left for somewhere else how many are left at home to benefit from this kerosene windfall? Governor need to find something more tangible for development and investment instead of handing off free kerosene. Free kerosene is not going to bring people back into settlement. |
I wish Ikemba a speedy recovery and a safe return to his fatherland. |
Lmao, Ileke, u r bad! How can u say that of a whole Field Marshall? |
<quote> Chyz*: Quote from: Negro_Ntns on Today at 02:58:18 AM Oh, really? I thought it was Iboland. Well tell them to go tell Alaafin they no longer want to be Yoruba. Who is the Alafin? Is he God? Haba! Just allow them to at least feel a sense of belonging in their own land. </quote> Chyz, Do you know who the Amazons are? Do you know Gezo? |
In fact in their case they will also need to see Omo N'Oba as well. |
Oh, really? I thought it was Iboland. Well tell them to go tell Alaafin they no longer want to be Yoruba. |
A C N should meet and see what they can do to correct that. Alhaji is using the wrong word when he says non-indigene. Non-indigene of Lagos or non-indigene of Yorubaland. |
