I submitted the required documents yesterday to CIC through their email and I got the automated response that they received the email.

While playing on mycic account this morning I saw a space where I can upload the required information.
In the letter they sent to me they said I should submit through email but I have also seen a letter from someone who applied through paper and linked online just like myself and he was asked to upload through mycic account.

My fear is that they get tons of mails daily, hope they don't ignore the mail? Should I go ahead and still upload the documents on mycic although I have sent it to them through email?

I thought we have debunked the myth that an application for a Canadian visa has to be made from a country where you have social ties to. There is only one kind of tie that matters when applying for a Canadian visa, that is ties to your home country. I cannot apply in the USA anymore because I have finished my studies and left. Applying there will mean I have to get a new visiting visa and clear new set of huddles and return there. That is possible and among my considerations if I run out of time to apply from Nigeria. Thanks for the suggestion.

Bro I would ve luv to explain better to u regarding d ties but d way you sounded on ur first 3lines, I don't tink dere is any need for me to explain 4da or break d tiers of ties 4 u.

Very quick question house and gurus
My full first year tuition is $15,780 CAD which was what I filled in the funds transfer form in my bank from here in Nigeria....

After much much the school sent me RECEIPT quoting that amount received was $15,551 CAD which approximately remains $300 CAD to complete for the whole year fees quoted in my LOA probably because of the exchange rate or a few factors

MY QUESTION : Can I use this submit this receipt as evidence of payment of tuition fee for the first year?

Hope I have not misrepresented anything sha?

Cc: @austinepee4 @maziude @yemdogg @nelly28 @mcobex

No Bro, it is not an issue, but since is jst $300, while not jst complete it, or beta stil d evidence of d CIC 10k u can make d $300 reflect dere. but dis not an issue or misrepresentation in which ever method u wish to tender.

Good morning everybody.

My name is James.

That being said, I'm 34 years and married with the intention of going for my PhD in Canada next year.

However, will my age stand as a factor in giving visa as i learnt Canadians do put AGE as a criteria in giving out visas?

Secondly. I have published two books on website design and development including using open source (WordPress). What are the criteria for admitting students?

God bless you all.

Bro from you proposed cert, concerning ur age u have no tin to worry abt.

Regards ur second question, dat depend on d school u are opt for. each schools has dere criteria.

Hello Osemigho,

I don't need anyone to pay for me. What I'm asking is to know how people paid on CIC website. I have used both Naira and Dollar card but none worked. Should I pay at VFS office? I want to submit online and not paper.

Bro u can't pay at d vfs since u not using paper route, which bank Dom card are u using and secondly u can always try at nite.

Thanks for your very thorough, well researched and intelligent response. You indicated not wanting to apply from Nigeria yourself. Why is that?
I did my undergraduate studies in the United States and returned to Nigeria only a year ago to see my ailing mother. I am still Nigerian with an expired student visa. While in the United States, I saw many people apply for study permit while on a U.S. visitor's visa. So it is totally possible to do. Heck, I have seen people even without status, apply for a Canadian study permit in the U.S.. Those that came to the United States with a visa and overstayed it. I think the requirement in the United States for Canadian visa applicants that overstayed their visa in the United States, is that you must prove you have not been out of status in the United States for more than one year, at the time you are applying for Canada visa.

You mentioned those in Canada on a tourist visa sending their applications to the Canadian embassy in LA? Do you mean Los Angeles by LA? If so, why Los Angeles instead of any American embassy in the U.S. I remember a Canadian embassy been present in the city I lived: Seattle.

That said, thanks for all your recommendation. I will be checking Canadianvisa.com and doing the painstaking work of reading up. If I do decide to apply from Cameroun due to time factor, you can put your money down on the fact that I would be supporting my application with the best SOP possible. Yes history and God is on our side on this lonesome road less travelled. It's not a shortcut route and I am not trying to hide anything as some have suggested here. Just that my application will be late if I apply from Nigeria. I was awarded full scholarship on the recommendation of the academic unit, just waiting now for final approval papers from the college of graduate studies to apply for my permit. I cannot apply with just a recommendation, I need the official thing. Am I right here? Can take another two weeks just to get that to me. And assembling documents to prove my ties to Nigeria and buying a land and getting a deed made out in my name is going to take time too. I am not married and have not lived in Nigeria for many years. Hence the need to establish ties to Nigeria so I am not rejected. By the time I apply, it's gonna be in late July. So time is not on my side as you can see.

Sure thing, I would have my police report.

Any further knowledge and advice is most certainly welcome and appreciated in anticipation.

Bro from ur write up you did you undergraduate in U.S. den, Why not apply from U.S thru visit visa, since that was ur prospective place of your undergraduate study, u have more social & economy ties dere den Cameroon, In U.S you can apply dere will any category of TRV, but u can't in Canada I have personally experience dat U 've to apply outside Canada b for ur study permits can b granted, reason been dat must of dere visit or tourist visa is a short term single entry, so the expect you to apply for a place where u ve social ties to.

NB pls I am not discouraging you from ur Cameroon thought. it jst an advice, I don't know wat u want to write in ur LOE, but dere are limits were an LOE can get u to, know mata how gud u are on it. Success in ur endeavours bro

I feel obligated to inform those asking for help to pay for their application to thread gently. Twice I have asked for such and got it, but i at the end I got an email that the transaction was cancelled as unauthorized. Meaning - credit card theft. I usually get my money back but the trauma of the accusation is unbearable. Trust me, You don't want to have it.

My advise to anyone trying to make any international payment is to open domiciliary account and fund with aboki dollar or look for people with dollar card in your family or physically around you and pay with theirs.

Be warned. God bless us all.

I can only comment on your 2nd question. There are jobs in every country including Nigeria. You have to prove that you are the most qualified and the best candidate each time you apply for a job. The truth is that each hiring manager is different. I finished in December, moved to Vancouver on January 15th and by the 18th I had a job offer letter. I did a PGD in global business management also. I still have friends that did masters but have not found a good full time job. So my dear, it all depends on what you are looking for after school. In the cause of my job search, I hardly saw any job Ad that asked for a Masters degree. If you have previous work experience from Nigeria, it helps a lot. The course I did gave me an opportunity of doing a 4 months internship which helped me secure the job I have today. So my dear, the job prospects are level. Most people use their previous experience to secure jobs here and not even PGD or masters qualification.

@ Mesh2003 u are very correct...@Teepee85 regards ur 1st question, contact the school, if ur letter is a conditional LOA den, u have to pay d stipulated amount

All these analysis are not necessary, every application is treated differently, u just have to package your story well because nothing is impossible. In my own time my sponsor put a lump sum of money few days before the soa was printed but because I understood the process at the time, I was able to explain it well to the VO. The lady was just trying to encourage people here with her story that anything is possible.

bro pls b4 u comment pls alway try to read and understand b4 writing, I neva said it is not possible, go thru my post u will see dat 4 ur self, I ve neva discourage any1 in dis forum, but alway try to encourage to see a success story and not count delays, I'm glad u even use d word PACKAGE wat is packaging is it not part of wat I said earlier ( factors I shortlisted, u 've to make tins add up )dat u call analysis( with no need), but it like u neva care to read and understand my point b4 replyin, wat I was saying is dat in as much as u see people profile u should b awel dat each case is treated differently and has dere various factors in reaching conclusions, I jst point out some point to aid and not to blind fold applications Oga, even d lumping u talking abt common sense is supposed to 've told u, u need to explain in ur LOE or Sop and if been sponsored, ur sponsor is suppose to aline dat in his/her SOL. if u are d VO wat will u tink seeing such moni wen d account histories is showing that the acct has neva been run with such high flow, well oga dats not d point of my reply anyway, dis isn't d only forum I belong to I 've see file and cases, so I'm contributing based on General research experience and personal experience. and 2 d lady inquest I guess she is awel dat I neva said her point is not possible, I jst added based on update and not to void are statement Oga.

I didn't have any other factor to make them ignore my "course mix match" according to you. People end up in different career paths not related to their first degree and that is what I wanted to point out to the person. My point was just to emphasize that you can get a study permit if your propose course is not related to your first degree but you can prove it with your current job position. Even Oyibo dey switch career, why cant we? Besides, am a babe my dear sad sad

I'm not saying or lamenting dat it is not possible ma pls don't get me wrong, but I'm jst saying dere are factors involved, u are tellin d hox dat u 've know stronge factor dat point ur home ties like u 've not travelled b4, like haven't been to 2 or 3 standard countries or dere was no strong home ties like been married or having first and second family bck home, even age somtimes plays a role in addition, u most 've meet up with one of dis factors. back den early 2014 Canada issue study permits to applicants with course mix match with even adding sop to it, or any strong factor, but now d system is changing it isn't as b4.

I have a degree in Chemistry but I worked as a business development manager for 3 years in Nigeria. I applied for a 2 year PGD in Global business management in North Island College in 2014. I got a student visa and I finished my program last December. I have a good full time job today in Vancouver. YES MY DEAR ITS POSSIBLE TO GET YOUR VISA. Just prove that you have been in business since your graduation. Write a good SOP. I wrote that although I studied chemistry, I have been in the business environment since I graduated and I want to get the theoretical knowledge of what am doing and how it will help me in my career goal as a business analyst. I had a 2.2 in chemistry and it was difficult getting an admission for an MBA so I went for a PGD. I will go for an MBA after I get my PR.
Believe in your dream and package yourself. I ended up winning best international student award in business school and I also made the deans list.

Bro nice write up and words of encouragement, I like dat, but one tin u still fail to site is tins are changing, system is chain lining and even @ ur 2014 , I guess u had some factor dat made dem ignore ur course mix match, one of dis factors include strong social & economy ties, strong travel histories etc, so in ur case I strongly believe dat u belong 2 one of dis categories. So each case of success shows a key point and are treated differently, Grace differs too, my advice to applicants is alway view ur profile b4 submit and try to put urself in d shoes of d VO's and always seek second idea or opinion, and pray too..No wat u want and neva gv up ur dreams. destiny can b delayed but can neva b denied.
