The whole thing is tiring. Same with Federal Polytechnics. I heard it's IPPIS issue, but is it supposed to take this long before it can be resolved ? Why is it affecting only educational institutions? I have been expecting an APL as a teaching Staff from one of the Federal Polytechnics in the east since March. The whole thing is so worrisome.

From observation, I can tell boldly that recruitment in the universities needs approval from office of the head of service and certificate of clearance (compliance) from FCC.

As it stands, the office of the head of service of the federation is not entertaining recruitment in universities.
Even those that got in last year have not been captured (IPPIS), I stand to be corrected though.

Except provision is made for in the 2022 budget, most universities will not recruit nor replace.

It also depends who is helping you to get in.

I don't know of universities but as for federal Polytechnic's, I posted APLs for fed Poly Kaltungo last week here. And just yesterday I asked the chair of the Governing Council of another fed Poly in the NE and he told me what was delaying most APLs is that the employment process had to be started afresh to accommodate the interests of the new Governing Councils which were constituted 2mnts ago. I don't think it has anything to do with embargo.

Ï thought as much immediately thé new Governing Councils were constituted. As far as thé whole recruitment exercise will not be cancelled outrightly, lets keep hope alive. Though there is every possibility of dropping some names to accomodate the new candidates.

I am equally interested in this topic. This is almost 4 months I have been waiting for appointment letter from a Federal polytechnics in the east. I don't really know what is the problem.

The current delay in issuance of APLs by Universities and Polytechnics is becoming worrisome. Is IPPIS the only issue or there is another thing they are not telling us? This is common in almost all Federal universities and Polytechnics in Nigeria.

With the amount of money that is entering Lagos State, this kind of project is not supposed to be in the news at all.


Most roads in Lagos State are so terrible that even Okada can hardly pass them. Upon the money Lagos State government is making from Ijegun Depot in Satellite town, Oriade LCDA, you will weep for people living in that axis. It is so terrible that People are abandoning their homes and businesses in that area because of bad road.

That is why I will never advise a fresh graduate to come to Lagos in search of job when you don't have a decent place to stay with free food. You will end up wasting your years in Lagos with hand-to-mouth work.

Presently, Lagos is living on past glory. It only favours secondary school leavers, who are staying with their parents and can collect 15k job in Alaba International Market, Trade fair complex, Balogun Market, Ladipo Market , Computer Village as Sales girl/boy. The jobs are there for them. But for a graduate, look for something to do on your own, make contacts for Federal Government jobs and pray to God for divine intervention.

As for you OP. As far as you a graduate, it is wrong to think you have nothing to show. Some of your mates are still writing carry overs in school. You can still receive a call for a job that will surpass those that have been working for years. It is called grace.

These two factors are the greatest threats to start up businesses in Nigeria.
I nearly ran mad when i started my first business. My total income was going to fueling the generator for the first year.

So, if you are starting a business and you have the cash, do yourself a favour by renting your office in a good location, even if the remaining capital is not enough for the running cost, with time, you break even and ultimately start making profit.

However, if you think you want to save cost and rent an office/shop inside street, where there is no human /vehicular traffic, you will end up wasting your years there without recovering your start up capital.

Is there any hope that this IPPIS issue will be resolved before end of the year.

I just heard that FG set up a Committee in March this year to look into the lapses, but no time frame was given for them to submit their report.

Please those who are privy to information regarding the IPPIS issue should tell us.

Thanks Ma, this has rekindled my hope. Ï nearly gave up after waiting for months since I submitted my CV to a Rector of one the Fed Polytechnics through à Senator without any news up till date.
Ï just pray the IPPIS issue Will be resolved soonest.

Are Federal poly staffs under IPPIS platform? I applied for a lecturing job in one of the poly through an incubent senator from the host community and also through the state HOS who is a friend to the rector. Credentials and CV had been received but no response since march. Even the impending ippis hurdles is unpalatable.

Be specific. Mention the Polytechnic because apart from IPPIS, which is a general issue, some schools have their peculiar challenges with respect to the recruitment.
I know Oko Poly and Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic Unwana, Ebonyi State collected CVs within the period you mentioned.

Anybody that has information concerning Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Afikpo in Ebonyi State recruitment should please share it.
Is the reconstitution of new Governing Council responsible for the delay or has the recruitment exercise been put on hold?

The Chairman can get you a job in the School, but comparing a Polytechnic Rector and the Board Chairman is like comparing a University Vice Chancellor and a Pro Chancellor.

The Rector is the Baba in this regard. He can allocate some slots to the Chairman.

In terms of hierachy, the Board Chairman and Pro Chancellor in Poly and Uni respectively are higher, but in terms of administration and who gets what, the Rector and the VC are the Boss.

He/she is telling you the truth, some people that got employed since January 2020 till date have not been enrolled on ippis in many agencies. Many federal universities and polytechnics are facing the same problem too.

Note that no ippis no salary.
